  1. To be honest why would anyone watch a programme that is hosted by a homophobic government that believes sexual orientation is a choice. Also the number of deaths of the workers has never been accounted for. I can guarantee that foreign worker deaths by far outweigh Qatari deaths in the building.

Sorry, but I hope they don't find the billion baht and decide to spend the money on Thai facilities or a programme to benefit the whole Thai population.

  2. Ok quick reply.

    1. You do not need to go to KL.

    2. You need at least 15 days on a tourist visa or visa exempt to process the Non-B in Bangkok.

    3. If not go to the border, in and out and get a 30 day visa exempt.

    4. Your school take this to the immigration to change from tourist or visa exempt to Non-B

    5. With the Non-B your school takes you to get a work permit. For this you will need verified and notarized copy of your degree. You can make a copy of your degree and have this notarized and verified to save the original but you must send both for notarization. These are both done in your own country, if it is England. some countries will do it at the embassy in Bangkok.

    If from England you need.

    a. Notarized by a solicitor or JP

    b. Verified at Milton Keynes by the Universities Board

    c. Verified at the Thai Embassy in London

    d. Verified and stamped by the Labour Office in Thailand

    6. Once you have these you will then get a medical certificate (no more than 2 weeks old) If possible a DBS certificate from your home country to show you have no criminal record.

7 After getting the WP which takes between 3-7 days, you will go back to immigration to extend the non-b for a year or to the end of your contract if shorter.

    8. Following this you will do a 90 day report online, or at immigration every 90 days to stay in Thailand.

If you school is genuine they know this. Fees to pay which the school should pay are

Tourist to Non B - 1900b, WP 3100 bt Non B extension 1900  The school usually pay the WP and extension.

Feel free to drop me a comment if you need more advice

  3. OK call me stupid... Thanks.... But ten years ago we used to have to pay 750bt airport tax to leave Thailand, little machines at the airport. Then they decided to add it to the booking, called Airport Tax. Now they want to introduce another tax called the tourism tax.. What's the betting this will eventually be added to the ticket and another tax be brought in. Do they think we would just forget we all already pay a tax?

  4. Guys the best advice is just do it by mail, send it in three weeks before and no hassle. Cost 10bt stamp.. To get it back, plus ems postage to them.

They really don't want the online system to work as there would be less people going there so they need less staff and less budget.

Each time I went they say it was down last week but OK now. All the time. Just stick it in the post.

No point in saying it is down it happens 350 days a year.

do you mean Paradee Resort? nice but a bit expensive....is there something nice for about 1.5 to 2k/night?

So if this is the case why don't other countries start dual pricing Thai citizens? It would be good to see how they enjoy living up to the standards they uphold. I think from now on I should charge Thai people more as its good for my country.. Hmm may not have a lot of work coming in soon..

  6. If you book online then when you arrive you collect a ticket number and queue in a short line of chairs. If you do not book you sit in another line (1 metre away) and wait for your number. Immigration in MTT close 12-1.

Normally you can be in and out within 45 minutes. Mine, as I booked online took 10 minutes in total. The guy apologised for the online system not working but promised me it was now fixed and working from that day. You can guess what happened the next time I tried to register online.... This time I sent in the post, it was due by 16th August, but nothing returned yet. I sent by EMS so I know they received it.,, let's wait and see.

  7. Hi I was at MTT last Monday and they said it's been up and down for a month but they said it was fixed that day and from now on no more problems. Kind of like the air con guys who swear they will be there tomorrow.. Tomorrow... And then tomorrow. You can try all the usual things like using Bing and then use another pc etc, but the truth is the system has never been right and we all blessed when it works. Even the people there can't tell you why it will work then not work... So I took a bts and mrt there last week. Bts to Watsi  after Infantry 11 bts. Exit 1 walk to the road and then tell them muang ton tani visa  or criminal investigation centre. I put it on Google Maps and told the taxi driver to turn right when he was going straight on. If you need more directions let me know.

  8. Hi everyone, I hope everyone is keeping safe in these hard times. My question relates to a school cancelling my work permit. I have been working for a school for 8 months and now we both wish to stop the contract as soon as possible. However I will not have a new contract until  May outside of Bangkok. I do not want to leave the country and come back to quarantine. I am 54 years old and have enough savings. Is there a way of switching to a tourist visa for a few months and not leave Bkk or going on the amnesty idea? The owner of the school does not wish to help at all and she is quite rude. Any advice would be gratefully appreciated.

  9. I tried at the bank, but the said Wish had already blocked 6, 000 from my limit. Obviously they know people will call the bank. So all the bank can do is investigate. They don't charge you, but if they find in favour of the company then you pay the interest and their fee. If this is the case, I would say they are colluding with Wish and will change the bank and credit card.

Let's see what happens. I will update

  10. I know the saying anything that looks to good to be true, probably isn't! But this scam takes things even further. I had heard of the app called Wish, selling cheap goods from China, so I thought I would try a few things to see just how bad they could be. I regularly use Chilindro and I am used to a mixed bag of purchases.

Anyway I logged into Wish and was greeted by a 50% off your first order, all over the app. Great! So I went ahead and made an order for about 6,000 baht, expecting to get 3,000 bt off.

I duly put in my credit card details and had the code to claim my discount, when suddenly.. PAYMENT COMPLETE appeared, no confirmation, no page for a code,  just a thank you.. Straight away I contacted the Contact Support section, to find out it is on AI and no real human and no phone number... I emailed then straight away to cancel the order or apply the discount. They informed me there was only a certain window to cancel and to go on the app. The app ten says they received my details and would contact me within 1-3 days (past the window to cancel)

Over the next 24 hours they contacted me to say I had already entered a code (LIE), next I had taken too long (LIE) next they could no longer cancel the order (LIE) as the order / delivery confirmation came 24 hours after they contacted me. Each message I sent came back with another lie. I said I would not accept the goods, they said it was then a problem with the supplier and myself. Finally I contacted the bank, who told me they can investigate and it will take 30-45 days. I am now waiting for them to come back to me. There was no OTP and the bank said not all sites use OTP. After reading reviews (Yes I know I should have done before I ordered!) It seems this is common and they change prices and then don't send good for 2 months but when they are faulty say they can not help as outside the 30 days.

This company is valued at 8.7 billion dollars. You have to wonder how many first and only time buyers this is.  Now they stop responding to my messages after they sent the same reply 4 times and then marked it as resolved.

I know 3,000 bt won't break the bank, but I hate the fact that they cheated and when found out they simply say we can't help. My advice stick to Lazada and Shopee, give Wish a miss!

  11. No you just get your degree done not the PGCEi. Notorised in the UK you can pay about 50 pounds but send the original degree plus a copy plus the transcripts.

Yes you can do in Laos but this could be closed at any moment and you might be asked to do it again. You can my advice is either do it now, or it takes two weeks to do, so or go to Laos and when you have your nonb get it done in England while you have masses of time.

For teaching remember you will need a work permit and you can get two waivers if your degree or PGCEi is more than five years old. Then you have two years to get enough pd days to count for a new five year teaching licence.

  12. Hi Everyone,

I want to ask if anyone has experience of this situation.

I arrived in Bkk in January and had my visa exempt transferred to a non b. Then I got a work permit and then the full non b until March next year.

My work permit is only valid until October as I had to renew my teaching licence. They said that

once I have the renewal they would extend the wp until March as well.

However things have not worked out so well and the school and I have decided to stop the contract in October.

My question is this. I would like to ask the school to leave my non b open until I find another job. I beleive as this is a one year non b it would be possible. The contract began in January 2019, they gave me the full non b in February valid until March 2020 but if my work permit expires in October would this mean my non b will expire as well?

I don't care about the work permit as I won't be working but would be happy to just have the non b to travel for a few months.

    Any advice is gratefully received.

  13. HI NetGuy

Sorry but you did 2 out of three in the process. You will need to send it to the Thai Embassy in London and provide a 10 pounds postal order made payable to Thailand Embassy - London. They also say you can send cash....

Then you include a SAE and it takes about a week.  After you get it back here you have to go to the Labour Office in Chang Wattana and then they stamp it as well.

Without 3 of 3 they won't accept it, as the Labour Office want to see the Thai Embassy Stamp.

    Hope this helps.
