  1. I just don't understand why all of you winers just don't go back home...like I'm doing. Heading back to the states cause I just can't F'n deal with the level of ridiculousness in this country. I'd live in Detroit before Bangkok, Alabama before Surin, Denver before Chiang Mai any day of the week. I tried it for 6 years because work sent me here. I just can't deal with it anymore, and based on all the negative comments on these forums, I don't get why you all stay here. Can't work and earn social security, can't own a house, Farang pay 2x, 3x, 4x, or 5x more for anything these people can gouge you for. Thai women are so jealous they become psychotic, dangerous evilness when the relationship doesn't work out. The corruption and ineffectiveness of the laws makes the worse of America look like Unicef. The military and police are the drug cartels. The food and water are deadly toxic from chemicals banned in the states 40+ years ago. And, let's not even talk about the driving, drunkenness, and out right hypocrisy of the so called followers of Buddhism. Sorry everyone, my sister just bought a small house on a piece of land with fruit trees in a nice quiet little town in Oregon last year for 1.3 million baht. You can't even do that here. See ya, wouldn't wanta be ya!

  2. does this include the Chiang Mai branch?? if so YES a very good excuse not to work out!! seriously though.. i paid 8000 for a 'life time" membership and have to fork out 100 or 120thb per year no club can operate like that- they should charge 3000 to start and 1000 per month or 10,000 and 500 or 600 per month - they must have been hurting up front and needed to dive for dollars- i will say i've met some execs at CA WOW and they were cool took me to their box and the Green Day concert in BKK a few years ago- at least those early membership dollars went for something....thumbsup.gif

  3. Excellent, the price of alcohol can't be high enough. It's one of the most dangerous drugs in the world, it causes death and mayhem in traffic, spousal abuse and all sorts of aggression. In another thread: "Drunken Swede kills tourist from New Zealand". I am convinced he would not have killed that guy if he were sober!

Who kill most people drunks or sober people?

Sober American soldiers would be the winners here I believe...

American soldiers are the winners everywhere...

I guess you're just trolling, but I'll bite anyway: Only 20% of the fatal road accidents are caused by drunken drivers, so drunk drivers drive safer than sober drivers....

this argument is non nonsensical if 50% of all people on average on the road were drunk than this compairison would make sense as it stands ... not so much- the point of the posters argument is that a higher percent of drunken drivers kill people than do sober

  5. So how will it increase revenue if less is sold at a higher price?

And, a bottle of beer (660ml) is to increase by around 100 baht?

Other than in backward societies were there is no universal healthcare, the system ends up with sky high costs for everything from liver disease to cancer. Best is therefore to have no turnover at all. Cigarette prices should go to the roof and for alcohol the increases are still very modest given the fact that 1 liter of alcohol does not equal one liter of beer.

oh only 'backwards" societies dont have universal healthcare- i think u mean 'broke' societies or socialist societies - tax and spend- leftists are very generous with other peoples money...

    Google 2 things

CIA fact book Life expectancy and CIA fact book Infant mortality rate, and see how much better those leftist countries are than some right wing "Free" countries.

you should check out the people who die waiting for free treatment in the fairytale land of universal healthcare- universal healthcare means everyone can have access to poor quality service- its a joke fantasy land and lazy loosers promote it so they can have other people be responsible for their health instead of taking responsibility for themselves- - infant mortality rates and life expectancy are lower in poor countries who cannot afford sub par healthcare for everyone- go to a hospital in the USA its full of rich people from countries with the myth of universal healthcare who would rather live and pay than die and get it for free

  7. Is the issue that people died and how, not more important than than worrying about late opening?

We know how 4 people sadly died, and that is an important issue, but had the law been obeyed, the disco would not have been open at 4am, and conceivably nobody would have been in the premises and nobody would have died or been injured. Is that not important too?

Yes of course, but what if it happened during "normal" opening hours? The point i am trying to make is, the time is not important.

i think the point is that just like the poster said- if the law had been followed this would not have happened- so even if it really was caused by lightning - fire crews readiness might not be the same- the level of intoxication of the customers there that might have inhibited their escape could have played a role- there is a liability to those who were operating the place illegally and had they not the deaths might not have occured
