Have looked at 2 here in Chiang Rai, one red one white. One was 158,000 (red) the white was 163,000. This is at 2 different dealers. The higher price went down to 158,000 when I mentioned I could buy at that price. Looking over the bike, first thing I noticed is the small diameter handles and handle bar, if I buy, first thing that needs attention. The foot pegs for the passenger are cheap plastic and look not long for this world. Storage was great and access to refuel easy with security lock when left alone. No idea why it is a 300 when the engine is just a tad over a 250cc at 279cc. Guess it is close to 300? Nice touch with ABS braking and belt drive. Over all, given I am 6'2", lots of room for me, good relaxed driving position and the biggest selling point for me is the SEAT!!! Have never been on any bike here that felt like a 100 K ride between leg stretches. I ride a mustang seat back home and this is really close. I did bring my sheep skin seat cover with me. I am hoping but haven't found a set of dual purpose tires for it. Some good ones in 12 inch but nothing so far in 13 or 14 in my search. Any ideas, please post.
Sheep skin seat cover in Thailand? either you really hate your testicles or like to keep it warm
Ah! an non-believer in this wonderful product. When you have as many miles under the butt, you start to see many of these out and about in summer and winter (never ride in winter myself). They really do work!!! Cool butt riding is all about air circulation.

Correct me if I am wrong, but word was that a ferry service out of Chiang Saen was in operation that precluded a visa. This was supplied by the casino and the only requirement was to attend the casino?

Looking for a Honda CN700X, the new model from them. They show being available in Thailand, but haven't found one yet (north Thai).
Looks like a great bike for here with the right tires. If you have seen or know where, please post and pm me.
Thanks much

I flew out March 20 from CR and we climbed above it pretty quick (it's a jet isn't it) and once above it, could not see any of the surrounding hills (mts) or anything within view. Completely blanketing the north. Seems the air is OK here on the west coast of BC Canada, go figure eh?

Unfortunately, we are going to miss it until we get back. Eat my share and thanks to all those who have always made this such a pleasant outing for us.
See you soon

When I came back from CR last night saw some burning. Figure they'll burn as long as it will burn and only stop when too wet.

Been raining now for 3+ hours now Mae Lao. Cool and clear air
-
Had very driven rain last night, sideways for a while (Mae Lao). The 6 inch overlap of roof tiles failed to keep the water out. Didn't last long, but sure improved the air this morning.

National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA) lecturer Piyanuch Potawanich warned that the launch of the Asean Economic Community in 2015 would lead to more foreigners using nominees to own Thai land, especially Singaporeans, who were smart, had money and needed to invest for profit.
did he really say that? or is it just the quality translation?
Yes!! Don't you just hate people that " who were smart, had money and needed to invest for profit." Better stupid ones that invest for lose?

Rain here east of CR was side ways, very strong winds, for most of the start, then hail came down as well. Big light show but now over. Only lasted about 30 minutes.

Update on the new bridge linking Thailand with Laos (Chiang Khong), as you can see the construction is well under way.
Next question when will it be finished!
I've been seeing the sign "second friendship bridge" on the way to Mae Sai for 2 years now. Good question

Many do have a temper on them though.
Just saying.
I do understand what you are saying. It comes as a shock to those who are used to seeing a female behave as a "female". I don't imply you, just using your post. I would think this concept of "temper" by ladyboys in the sex industry comes from no experience in the sex trade of North America. There they'd just as soon cut you as put up with BS there. And they are female!!!

We have the "Mattress Tag" Police in Canada. Have to be cautious about those tags!!!!

We bought a new car, I saw they had forgot to take the plastic film off the chrome, I mean all the chrome, inside and out. I committed a serious error by starting to take it off!!!! You would have thought I took a dump in the back seat!!! My new office chair, as I type this, has plastic over it. I fought vigorously and was allowed to remove it from the seat and only the seat.
One could always do it Thai style and leave the plastic on the sofa or chair when it is delivered. Then again one could stop it at the source by trying an adult diaper.
Already did. Thanks anyway.I was looking at sofas the other day and wondered the same thing.
appears we are not the first to go on this quest......
It is a couple of years ago, but I suggest you retrace this guy's steps.
Can tell VF has been here a while

And meanwhile loads of forest fires, roadside fires, garbage burning, slash and burn going on. Today was the worst day! Where are the authorities? Stay indoors and pray for rain, and take loads of vitamin C and E!
Yes, was a 10/10 here today. So bad it was down on the road like a fog.

Back to your question: I have checked the fence and indeed found, that it was a bit narrower at the trailing edge. I could tell that from the sound, when I pushed a piece through to exit it at the trailing edge, but hadn't paid attention to the adjusting screws, so thanks again for guiding my attention to that! There are adjustment allen-screws, which I used to calibrate it next to the blade. I imagine, it doesn't need any more calibrating, as the guide rail for the fence should be strait, don't you think? Don't you think, that adjusting it to strictly parallel next to the blade is sufficient for all the other distances too? Or should I even adjust it a bit wider at the trailing edge?
The fence should be as true, parallel to the blade as possible. If you can get a hollow ground blade, that is the teeth are set wider then the blade, note picture, less chance of binding. Once adjusted, the fence should stay aligned. The fact there are adjustments speaks well to the quality. All blades will have some flex but under power are very ridged due to the force of rotation. This sounds to me as an excellent quality unit for the standard of work I would certainly being doing. Back home I used what is called "exchange a blade". You buy one, full price, then instead of sharpening, you bring it back, exchange it for sharp. Cheaper then getting a blade sharpened. Here, find someone with experience for sharpening those carbide blades that are expensive.

My post was bit bit misleading about the fence. You concern about the miter gauge, the 90 degree fence can be solved. On more expensive miters there are set screws along the leg that goes into the slot. Sometimes little spring loaded blades as used for slots that are beveled. If you can’t locate a miter (higher quality) that will fit the slot and the slot isn’t beveled, I have in the past drilled 2 holes, through the side of the miter leg, threaded them and put in allen drive threaded plugs you then use to take out the play and adjust for true. Given the distance the gauge sits from the blade and width you can cut, a little play is tolerable.
The fence, the one that is parallel to the blade is what I am curious about. How fast it sets up for cutting width changes. When you lock it at a given width, is the leading edge and trailing edge of the blade exactly the same distance from the fence? Do you have to check each time and adjust for that? Is there a way to calibrate that into the fence? Usually 2 adjusters, one on each side of the locking handle.
As far as bang for your buck, it looks real good on the video, but I don’t think they would put a video up that shows a guy losing a finger because the wood jammed into the back of the blade and kicked back HaHaHa…..

WOW That is not cheap!!!! 330 baht. (sorry, maybe a gal can?)

JoeBen: I'd really like to hear how the quality of the fence works out. Can it be calibrated? I use a delta unisaw/52 inch fence back home and don't expect that level of quality, but would like to know if the fence can be adjusted to 90% to the blade? I usually throw out the blade guard but its quality is usually a good indicator to over all quality as well. Yes, I can still count to 10 on both hands (push sticks help). Can the settings for tilt be calibrated? Is it left or right tilt? Did you get the mobile stand for it? What is the weight like? From your posts, the pictures looked pretty good.
Thanks Bud

Nothing mentioned about the taggant, all C-4 is tagged or something like that. Can be tracked to buyer. Maybe that is the thai connection, C-4 was local and sold local?

Canadian triple entry Tourist Visas: Updated
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Posted
Based on being a Canadian and BC province, snowbird/tourist abroad has 7 months now for medical coverage (each province is different) and residency is next to impossible to loose. Having a drivers license, a home etc. is all it takes according to Revenue Canada. Even a bank account counts for residency. Canada loves my tax dollars, me, they may not be to sure of hahahaha.
Also not sure but heard the visa's clock starts ticking from the date of the stamp in the passport, not date of entry????
