  1. The "how many" depends on the system you use. The most cost effective in the long run would be to build a bio-filter. This gravel filled filter has to equal the tank's volume i.e. 4m x 1.5m x 300mm deep.=6 cu m gravel.

Using a submersible pump (JSR Pumps 1200bt each) and plastic waste pipe you pump the dirty water onto the filter. You plant veggies in the filter..The plants turn the fish waste into nitrates and clean water filters back to the fish.

The constant cleansing of the water allows a stocking density of up to 400 per cu M ( 50g fingerlings grown on to 5-600gm)

You sell the fish and the veg/herbs are a bonus.

    Hi all,

I just read to filter the waste water of the fish in gravel tanks or a gravel tank where one can grow veggies. That's right with one very important note: If you do not filter the water BEFORE it is put into the gravel, the system will clogg soon. What you mention is an Aquaponic System. Please visit Facebook http://www.facebook.com/pages/Aquaponics-Thailand/170218083004597. If you have furter questions, please note it on the FB Site. Have a nice day

  2. Hi all,

to introduce myselfe: I am an Austrian selling a brandnew organic foliar fertilizer in Thailand: SUPERGREEN. Consisting of Dolomite (a Limestone) and milled in a new High Tech milling machine, the average particle size of SUPERGREEN is 6 micrometer. That means, the particles can enter the leaves of every plant.

It is this penetration who makes SUPERGREEN so successful; the particles (CaCO3) are split within the leaf into CO2 and CaO. So, the leaf gets the so much needed CO2 directly. This enhances the Photosynthesis by about 30 - 40 %. More photosynthesis means more production of chlorophyllum, sugars, starch.

The particles who do not enter the leaves stay on the surface. Dew splits this compound as well into CO2 and CaO. So, the leave is saturated daily with CO2 who will enter the Stomata easily.

If hou want to test the product, please let me know. I will send you some samples so you can see by your own testing the advantage of SUPERGREEN. By the way, SUPERGREEN is approved for organic farming in Europe and in the US.

    Best regards

  3. Hi there,

most likely it is a deficiency. Could be a Boron deficiency. I detected the same pattern in Isaan. Where is your paddy situated? Please know, that in the North and Northeast of Thailand the soils are deficient of Boron anc Cink. As I am selling a organic product called SUPERGREEN (it is high-tech-milled Dolomite (a kind of Limestone) which content naturally Boron and Cink. I would like you to test it, so I could send you some samples.

Please tell me your address if you want to test. The product is absolutely harmless for humans, animals, fish, water etc. In Europe and the US it is approved for organic farming.

  5. Hi all,

concerning Hydroponics: there is a hydroponic supplier in Bangkok, I know him personally. Visit his website www.tanalapfarm.net.

I did hydroponics for about 1/2 a year. And then switched to Aquaponics. (please see our FB site http://www.facebook.com/pages/Aquaponics-Thailand/170218083004597. Aquaponics are the future of growing vegetables. Instead using artificial fertilizer (NPK and Micro Nutrients are mostly produced out of crude oil) Aquaponics using fish waste.

If you have some questions, please check the website of Aquaponics Thailand.

    Nice weekend

  6. Hi Joeuk 1,

sorry that I do not know the prices for fertilizer. But what I know is that the prices differ in the North, Central Plains and in the South. If there is any Cooperative of Farmers, there you would get really good prices.

Concerning fertilizers: I startet selling my product "SUPERGREEN", a 100 % natural foliar fertilizer, made from Dolomite (kind of Limestone). We tested the product already in Thailand with big success. If you want to get some samples free of charge, please let me know. For your kind information, I am attachingt our product description.

    With my best wishes

  7. Hi there,

to introduce myself: I am selling a product called SUPERGREEN. 100 % organic (made of Dolomite, a kind of Limestone), in US and EUR approved for usage in organic farming. The product is milled in a High Tech mill so the particles are in a size of 6 micron in average.

We tested the product since 1 year in Thailand and got unbelievable results. SUPERGREEN is diluted in water and sprayed on to the leaves, it is a socalled foliar fertilizer. The particles are so small that they can enter the leaves trough the stomata (pores). Within the leaf, the CaC)3 splits into CO2 and CaO. C)2 is together with sunlight the motor of photosynthesis.

Anyway, I would like to send you some samples to be tested at banana trees. Honestly, we did not test the product at bananas. Usualle, plants react about 7 days after spraying. Horticultural plants start to get blossoms within about 14 days. So, if your banana tree does not get blossoms, SUPERGREEN might help.

Attached you find the detailed description of the product. If you want to test it (it is 100 % NON HAZARDOUS), please send me your name and address.

    Have a nice sunday

  8. How is everyone doing with cassava mealybug this year?

This should be the worst month, but with the release of the parasitic wasp last year maybe things are different...?

Would be interested in any reports.

    Hi Robroy,

I would like to offer you a test, if your cassava are infected by mealy bugs. I am selling a product called SUPERGREEN whicht consists of 100 % natural Dolomite (kind of Limestone). The particles are in micrometer size (average size 6 micrometer). The particles can penetrate the leaves and are accellerating Photosynthesis by about 40 % = better growth, more harvest. Our tests show as well a significant reduction of mealy bugs on cassava after spraying the leaves. The reason could be, that the mealy bugs destroy their "teeths" due to the micronized particles they eat and starve of hunger. Experienced farmers report that the mealy bugs fall off the leaves but come back about 3 weeks later.

As mealy bugs do not like strong plants, they should not infest the plants as much as they do with weak and "watery" plants.

I could send you some samples to do a trial. If you let me know your address, I will send the samples immediately. For your first information, I am attaching some interesting information (1 in Thai, if your helpers need to know how to apply SUPERGREEN).

Application of SUPERGREEN with a machine sprayer (Kapsak or other spraying machines). Mix 20 liter of water with 80 gram SUPERGREEN (1 Sample content is about 50 g), spray at least 40 liters on 1 Rai. Try to spray tye upper leaves of the Cassava plants from below (most of the Stomata (pores) of the leaf are on the bottom side of the leaves. Second application after 4 weeks.

    Have a nice weekend

  9. Hi folks

Organic fruit and vegetables from the tropics

just came across this pdf published by the UN which gives a good overview of organic farming in the tropics everything from the basic philosophy, soil fertility and nutrient management, integrated pest control and weed management, water conservation/irrigation as well as specific methods for growing ; citrus, coconut, mango, guava, pineapple, lychee, banana, beans, lettuce, tomato, peppers,

aubergine, cucumber, asparagus, sweetcorn etc...etc. organically. A great starting point for newbies or folks considering going organic as well as more indepth info for the more experienced grower !! For example we all know worms are good for the soil but did you know " Their excrements contain 5x more nitrogen, 7x more phosphate, 11x more potash and 2x more magnesia and calcium than normal earth." ??

    Happy reading :o !!

    Jandtaa

    Hi Jandtaa,

I read your comments on thaivisa.com. As you are obviously organic farmer, I would like to offer you samples of my product: pure nano calcium made of dolomit limestone, called supergreen. Some guys of thaivisa.com already tested it and are very impressed of the outcome. If you send me your adress I will send you 4 samples so that you can spray about 1 Rai 1 time to check the impact. Supergreen is approved in the USA and in Europe as foliar fertilizer to be used in organic farming.

  10. Hi there,

I am selling a 100 % organic, non chemical product called "Supergreen". It's limestone (dolomite, CaCO3), milled with in a high tech mill. So the particles are crashed down to sizes of about 3 to 6 mikrometer. They are so small that the can penetrate the leaves of any plant through the Stomata. Within the leave, CaCO3 splits into CaO and CO2. Both important components for plant developping and fruit developping.

If anybody is interested, I could send samples. You dilute about 80 gram of supergreen in 20 liter of water and spray it on the leaves in the morning or in the evening. After a couple of days you can see the first results.

So, If you ask for samples I will send you. Please let your adress and if possible your telephone number. For your information I am sending an explanation of the impact of this product.

  11. Hi there,

you get testers at Chatuchak Market in Bangkok (JJ-Mall). They are about 450 Baht but do not show the pH very accurate. At Kasetsart University Campus, there are some shops who sell better testers for about 3,500 Baht.

For soil improvement, you could use the as they call it "poon kao". it is about 60 % CaCO3 and 30 % MgO. Upcountry they sell it for about 4 Baht/kg.

    Have a nice day

PS: for your kind information, I am sending a brochure concerning a brandnew foliar fertilizer and it's impact.

  13. Hi all,

due to my experience in Thailand I know that Thais do their way. Punctum. But what I can see throughout the country: they are seeking new ways of fertilizing. That's the reason in post here.

I did a lot of tests with a brandnew Nano Calcium Foliar Fertilizer named Supergreen. Contains about 80 % CaCO3, 11.41 % Silicia, 5 % MgO, Cink, Copper etc. In Europe and USA certified in Organic Farming.

Application: 1 kg on 5 Rai. the best results with 3 times spraying (interval between 1 week (vegetables) and 1 month (rice, cassava, sugar cane).

Impact: Particles penetrate through the Stoma (openings on the plant leave) into the leave and is split into CO2 and CaO. Enhancing of photosynthesis due to the CO2. Rest particles remain on the leave. Dew splits this particles in the morning again into CaO and CO2, so the CO2 supply for the leave increases about 40 %.

Calcium is the main driver for root growth as well as for cell growth and cell strengthening. That's probably the reason, bugs are disappearing to the big part, even Mealy Bugs and Brown Rice Plant Hopper.

    Results

Veggies: grow faster, pests are reduced due to harder leafes. Even Mealy Bugs and the Brown Rice Plant hopper disappear after about 14 days. Farmers in Kanchanaburi reported, that the growing period of most of the vegetables is shortened about 20 %, meaning, they can sell the products in average about 1 week earlier.

Rice: Tests show a significant improvement of yields between 40 and 60 %

Sugar Cane: Brix enhancement between 2 and 4 points.

Tea, Coffee: significant enhencement of flavor due to increased content of oil substances.

If anyone is interested, please let me know your email so I can send you a test sample. So you can see the immediate impact of this brand new, natural foliar fertilizer.

    Cheers

    Werner
