Always makes sense to keep doing exactly what isn’t working. And just in time for Pfizer to update its revenue predictions by billions.

Israel will start giving a 3rd Covid-19 booster shot to people over 60 who received their 2nd dose at least 5 months ago: "The decision was based on considerable research and analysis as well as the rise in risk of the Delta variant wave," Prime Minister Naftali Bennett said.

An incredibly difficult situation for any leader to manage. Damned if you do, damned if you don't but his main duty is to the safety of the citizens of Thailand and he knows that if any experiment to allow foreign tourism goes pear shaped his head would be on the proverbial chopping block.

I'm waiting to see how the virus reacts during the coming cold northern hemispheres winter.

    There is no virus!

Under this plan only those from countries deemed to have the virus under control would be allowed entry and they would then be subject to quarantine and severe restrictions on where they are allowed to go.

Wichit said that this was better and safer than the previously mooted "travel bubble".

Countries that would be eligible were China, Taiwan, the US and those in Europe, reported TPBS.

    Are we sure of this?

I know it’s been mentioned in a few threads already, but can anyone attest that their Thai Wife or close friend has been repatriated recently (in July) without having taken a preflight Covid-19 test?

it would be interesting to know for sure, just to make sure ‘suspicions’ voiced in others threads are now not being quoted as fact.

on this subject - quarantine is serving it’s purpose !

Yes a friend travelled fr HK with Thai wife she DID NOT have to be tested in HK b4 flight only on arrival in BKK ......

I've not heard anything new so far, but I wouldn't count on anything before earliest mid May or June – the authorities are talking about letting up to 18,000 thai citizens return, that what they can accommodate in mandatory 14-days government quarantine facilities, and all need to be pre-registered – could even by July, since that is until when visas have been extended.

You might need to follow the news-section, as things can change fast.

    Yes I will!

according to an article i read today, the govt is meeting on monday to discuss the current situation and their plans following the expiration of the current april 30 'lockdown' (likely extended in some places).  they plan to make an announcement on tuesday (april 28).  that announcement will likely include information relating to who will be allowed into the country.  right now, only thais are allowed entry and they are required to do a 14 day quarantine.

Thanks - just had notification fr airline of a 2 day change in the Eva flight confirmed for May 17th (at the moment) - so will have to wait n see what the Big Boss in Thailand says ...... Insurance and Fit to Fly are no issue. Thanks!
