  1. Most of the northern (poor and uneducated) voters are lao and most of the hookers in Bangkok come from there too.

I've been with a lot of prostitutes in BKK like I know many of you have and they aren't as dumb as you think. The only good thing is that they are poor so they go into prostitution for us.

But I also don't blame the elites, if I was a Thai elite I would be extremely unhappy losing power to these lowly people.

    What a paradox!

    *Spelling mistake

This is the most disgraceful opinion I have read on this subject. Lowly people? Can't blame the elites? Could I ask what rock you crawled out from under?

Sorry! I wasn't clear enough before but that comment was meant from the perspective of a Thai elite not my own.

I don't think of them as lowly, I mean I have been with a lot of prostitutes who are from there :)

  3. You are ignoring a very real problem here rubl, just as the Thai military are doing.

In the ongoing Thai-Cambodian conflict I'm trying to ignore most of the 'information' given out by either Thai or Cambodian military and officials. Having lived in Thailand since 1994 I may have a bit more empathy with the Thai side, just like you seem to have more empathy to the Cambodian side (you did mention a few times 'just coming back from PhnomPhen'). On the other hand I seldomly say anything against the Cambodian government and army, where as you almost continuously go on against the Thai side. Both our opinions, to which we are entitled. IMHO :ermm:

Rubl, there are many accounts from Khmer's, Lao's, Vietnamese and Burmese of thai military atrocities against fleeing refugees. Raping, Murdering, Stealing etc....and when you have a history for it then it sticks, being blind to the Rohingya incident much? I suggest you get out of the country more and get a better perspective you clearly have been around thai people too long and your brain has started to rot!

BUT you are indeed entitled to your opinions - ignorant it maybe.

  4. ^actually its over 1000 years ago and more, it is known fact (internationally) that the Khmer's were in mainland SEA before any Tai and Viet expansion into the area from Southern China.

I guess I can't blame the moronic comments of some users here as they only know what locals teach and tell them, which is always biased - obviously! I'm surprised that many actually believe them when many complain about its education and quasi democratic system.

It's not hard to use google and wiki...

  5. ^you must be new to thailand and still wrapped up in the nice fantasy world its locals live in.

Before you make ignorant comments again you should get your facts before spitting out bs.

Do your research on the khmer and malay empires first and see who has been living there for "centuries".

  6. And now:

Hun Sen asks Cambodian FM Hor Namhong to cancel signing of ceasefire agreement because Thailand asked Indonesia to visit disputed land /TAN_Network

So now that Thailand has agreed to his demands he is rejecting what he asked for.

    Anyone see parallels here?

Could this be another case of orders from above, like in the sticky fingers of the ghost from govt past.

Oh look Robby nz here to defend Thailand (the country that has been so civil in the whole incident) - perhaps you should stop feeding your brain with Thai biased news....

  7. Dakhar

Don't play semantics, anyone with half a brain could comprehend that the US were far superior than North Vietnam back in the 1960/70's. YES, they could of used Nuclear weapons, they even could of used the their invisible cloaks, laser beans or light sabers but they DIDN'T!

And if anyone would actually like to know the truth behind this border issue please refer to the links below:

    http://www.icj-cij.o...les/45/4873.pdf - Judgement of the issue by the ICJ;

http://www.icj-cij.o...es/45/11220.pdf - Maps used by Cambodia as evidence (Some of this is in French)

Obviously, Cambodia won therefore the maps were and are accepted as legal and correct.

  8. picked this up on BBC

"The Cambodian government has called it an "invasion", while the Thai military said it was a misunderstanding."

Sounds like the Thai's started it.

    ?

I'm no psychologist, but to me it sounds like Cambodians wants war and not Thais ................

PS: To me, the real question seems to be "are the Cambodians always railroading the Thaïs so easily ?" (

Please go back to school and learn English again! rolleyes.gif

But you are right, the Cambodians did railroad the Thai's in this skirmish by taking down a few soliders and tanks. I'm surprised a lot of members here who most likely in their 50's and 60's would have known about the Vietnam war???? Clearly all the advanced military technology in the world didn't help the Americans back then and even now. Experience counts, one would of assume this was just common sense...i guess not and can only presume that many now have developed Thai thinking and mentality laugh.gif.

    Edit-SP

  9. WOW...It seems a lot of members here seem to have loss a lot of their common sense.

Maybe if they stop paying for the cheap sex to their numerous Thai "girlfriends" who claim they love them and NOT for their money they can see that Thailand is the instigator to this whole mess. I would really like type more but when these people are in a country that resembles a candy store so to speak their judgement to this border issue is very one sided to the Thai side. Obviously because their whole head is in this Thai candy store.....
