I've been reading all the posts and across the board i understand i cant read the thai language but I do know how to play poker. My wife told me her father dose not need money, hes a nice man, and we'll be getting lots of land. I would rather have the Brooklin Bridge or the Windsor Gates. What are my kids goimg to do with thai- land? They are american. The cost to sell this land (flights, lawers, taxes, getting sold short) is i' sure more of a headache then profit. I have no problem visiting but to see land, dirt. There also seems to be an outstanding college debt she still owes. I thought thai massages were a good thing.

I'm thinking the answer to my question lays within the thai culture itself. If the custom for a thai man is to have more than one wife an several girlfriends on the side, then i will simply explain to my new father that i must share the wealth across the board. Laying all my eggs in one basket is not a good investment. Showing him i am always thinking of the future may help him love me more. Do thai's have guns or just sticks and rocks?

I t seems i should say no, run or buy the family another house. Either way i'll always be an outsider never understanding whats going on. I just want to watch the super bowl in quiet. The NFL has rules, slow motion and replay.

Maybe i am not online alot and dont understand the forum rules. Right now the only thing i know is my wife is in Thailand crying, her dad is stuborn and her mom wants to have a wedding. If the older thai women are responsible for negotiating why am i dealing with the dad?

I apologise, this is my first post and i didnt know how to physically respond. I appreciate all responses even thoose a bit off. My hair is not green and i dont have meth eyes, im not a troll. this is her first marriage and she is a good wife, mother to my children and daughter. My wife and i are crazy and we did disrespect her family. i was just looking for help with how to negotiate and save face for everyone.

I'm in trouble! I married a thai woman (38yrs) i'm 48, in the states several years ago. Her parents dont know, not good, now she wants a traditional thai wedding in thailad. No problem until her father askd for 1,250,000bht and 10bht gold. I ned to finnish paying for my three childrens college and my daughtrs wedding which will not cost half this amount. How do I negotiate to not be cheap but not be stupid. Meeting inlaws soon. My wife, oops, this is secret, is a teacher at a university and gives most of her money to her parents along with health care.

ESKIMO WEDDING TRADITIONS: The groom’s family must pool their resources and come up with a whole houseful of wedding gifts, including things like hunting rifles, sealskins, appliances, loaves of bread, and other practical items useful for life and basic survival on the Yupiks’ home, a cold, barren, treeless island.
Really? Cold barren treeless island, wacking baby seals...maybe! But give a wife a hunting rifle? You bummbed your head.
