Thanks for the responses.
So I'm just going the pretty standard
- take a squillion photocopies
- do the four or whatever tests
- chew your arm off for an hour or so.

I have an Australian license for both car and motorcycle (expires October 2022).
In Thailand I have only the motorcycle license, expires 2023.
As the topic says is anyone aware of the procedure to get / add a car license?

What a fairy tale.
Why would they even waste fuel (and time) by taking them to the island in the first place?
Sure they may have been left at the islands but not as part of a scam.

No-one is pointing a gun to your head and forcing you to buy anything. How on earth can it be extortion. If you want to go to a 7 11 and buy it up to you.

I have never seen anything so over thought.

Excellent post, but I see what I have just described as a sort of extortion.
Another scam.
When will they ever stop.

That's a very good question. But, if there is nothing flammable inside the stairwell, and all the doors are closed, how could there be a fire inside?
The stairwell is the safest place in the building. If it is on fire as I said.

Entering on the 30th floor, and finding the 24th floor burning inside the escape, to where will I escape?
All modern buildings have automated door locking. In the event of a fire the first thing security would do would unlock these doors. If there was fire in the stairwell there will be a lot of smoke so I would not enter the stairwell. If this was the case I would be staying my prayers. In all likelihood you have reached the end of your life.

More proof that Thailand is not the developing nation it purports itself to be, but rather a nation deeply mired in third world status, due to lack of:
law enforcement
taxation
traffic safety
public safety
industrial safety standards
a consistent and coherent and user friendly visa policy for ex-pats
patent and copyright protection
enforcement against piracy of products. Plus there are issues like:
the corrupt and astonishingly ineffective police
the nationwide transportation system, or lack thereof, such as speed trains
reasonable import duties on products such as wine, foreign beer, cheese, and other "luxury" goods
and more. I could go on for days.
And an erratic President.

I took this idea and ran with it. I now live in a safe room with a bank vault door as the entrance. Maid comes, dusts off the front and leaves. Never had any problems since, does smell a bit in here though

Someone always steals my left sock. Never the right one. One day someone even stole my pulling sock.

Only one answer. Buy a safe big enough to put all these things in.

Mafia seems to be a generic name for any world criminal (or taxi) organisation

Comment from a "smart-alec": If people would stop renting Jet-Ski's, the problem would be solved. If people would stop driving Motorbikes, the Motorbike casuality-rate wold be zero.
Boy that's good. I must be having a good day.
Cheers.
If we all stopped breathing the problem would well and truly solved. Good comment.

Does knowing their names protect people?
Will certainly help the hospital select the correct anti venom.

The UK have strict animal protection laws. However, dogs must be on a leash when outside of your property by law. Also, once a dog has bitten someone, it's considered dangerous and put down so never to bite again.
Thais really don't understand animal welfare.
Absolutely correct.
I'm afraid even if they tried now it would take years to implement properly. Animal control laws in a lot of ways came into force as a result of attacks on children. A lesson that they will eventually learn but only the hard way. -
Yes get the dogs vaccinated. At least when the dog mauls and kills some poor 4 yo it will be a clean kill.

I must admit the they do it so I can do it too is one of my favourite defences against stupidity.

Jetskis have no propellers, and stop quickly, so aren't really dangerous, compared to a boat. They are hated mostly for being "just for fun" and no real use.
Not even funny as a wind up
