The black list threat seems pretty horrible if it's just based on their "opinion" about a person. I can see that in case of an arrest and evidence proven. Imagine if it happened to you and it wasn't true especially if you are settled with lots of property here. This kind of hard core tactic should be really troubling to ALL foreigners here, no matter how totally legit you think you are. You might think this isn't about you, but to immigration you're just another SUSPECT, and don't forget that.

Someone settled with lots of property isn't technically a tourist though......

  2. I see no problem with Pattaya's image. It is a shit hole dedicated to perverts and deviants of all faiths colour and nationality. Truly an international destination of global reknown as the worlds biggest brothel and formulated by the local government to facilitate the transfer of foreign exchange for service rendered.

Unless it is the Adams Family there is no way that Pattaya can or will be considered as "family friendly"

Amen & long may that continue

  3. "Has he gotten any new job offers with his newfound fame?

“I've gotten a few offers, he said. One person from a news organization offered a job as a journalist, but I said, 'No thank you.' I like being a motosai taxi driver, it's more fun and I have more freedom.”

    Phenomenal!

We at Coconuts Bangkok would like to nominate Dejchat as global person of the year. "

Motorsai more 'fun' than being a journalist?

    Global person of the year?

Forget the terrorism warnings, 23 countries have issued serious hyperbole warnings!

  4. Thank you IATA for your insight, are you suggesting the same applies to London, New York, Paris, Los Angeles, Madrid, Brussels, Moscow, Chicago and what about all the hype behind IATA endorsing Haneda ? If Heathrow was the only London airport would Ryanair or Easyjet exist ????? Airlines and airports meet at a price point that works and if there is passenger demand then what is wrong with more options ?

Strange, I had not heard that Gatwick or Stanstead had been flooded

    We live in hope!

  5. I guess there is no sense in going on but to recap ...

You said : "Brain damage is not an uncommon side affect of attacks like this. "

I simply asked for you to provide some links. If you don't or can't provide them then no problem. I can find a number of stories (real and suspected) about drinks being spiked for robbery but not any credible robbery spiking that led to brain damage, yet you say it is not uncommon affect in these attacks.

2 words for you.................. 'like this'!

In other words an attack that involves overdosing and leads to coma. Now I am aware you are challenging the voracity of this particular attack however it is not unique. It may have been in this thread I read about a Thai guy 'allegedly' spiked, comatose and brain damaged. There have been others. As you can see I can't even be bothered to check this thread for examples. Again if you are really interested google will throw a few up for you. My original point was and is that the type of drugs 'allegedly' used by these people do cause the effects found in the victim. FACTS which you doubted by mentioning poison and the CIA! And you want ME to provide links!!!

Yes, I still would like you to provide a link to back up what you stated to understand if it is fact or simply in your own mind .. hopefully a link where they can actually name the drug used that caused brain damage. I've been pretty clear on this request and am asking you because you stated this as fact and I assumed to make such a statement you must know of at least few incidents of somebody trying to rob somebody ("assault like this") by spiking a drink that led to brain damage. I guess continued avoidance to directly respond is pretty much an answer in itself.

I honestly lost caring what you would like ages ago. I've made it as plain as day for you yet you fail to see. I can't 'directly respond' to something you simply fail to grasp. You have 2 cases. You want more go find them. I've already mentioned that I know you doubt the voracity.

To quote an overused phrase, don't argue with idiots, they bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

    Now go google with yourself.

  6. Yes I did. here, hold my hand I'll walk you through it. You read that (it is right above) as me saying attacks are common. I didn't say they were. I said that when spiked with the certain types of drugs (not poisons) the effect of overdosing can be brain damage. Are you sure you've never been spiked?

You keep saying what you didn't say but what is interesting is I never said you said anything but what you said and simply asked you to back up what you said which seems to have got you into defense mode. You made what appears to be factual statements and I simply thought you could back up these statements but now i see they were simply just opinion stated as fact. No reason to get your pants all in a bunch over this. You are not the first nor will be the last person here to state opinion as fact. I think we've all done it when we are sure we are right but most back off when they realize they have no facts to back up their opinion.

Each post you write makes less sense. I really do need to walk you through jeez!

Try the google thing for back up. You'll see what I said is fact. Overdose of certain drugs (valium etc) can cause brain damage. It's not opinion, it's medical fact.

Your reply to my OP mainly consisted of you trying to explain how it wasn't common or didn't happen at all. I'd made no statement as to that.

Try addressing what I say instead of going into rant mode.
