Don't know where you live, but here in CNX there are shops which do exactly this, along with starters

Dismantle, replace what need doing, assemble, test.

Not expensive. I have used one shop for the last few years. good work.

Could you please tell me where these shops are and if possible telephonenrs.

    Many thanks in advance.

  2. Our new LG Hoover ( 1500 W. ) is getting very hot in a very short time and then turns itself off . We have to wait for it to cool down and start again. Sometimes the operatingtime is no longer than two minutes.

Anybody know what to do about this or some hints to let it run longer ?

    Thanks in advance.

  3. Yesterday tried to pay with EU creditcard (Mastercard) in Mc.Cormick. First no problem (over 1.000,==THB. no extra perc.). Handed over the card to cassiere who put the card in the machine, next she gave me ticket from the machine, the amount in Euro.

My reply: No, in THB. please. She put in the card again and said: No, cannot, not accept. I asked why, but all I got was fingerpointing at the machine and a blank face.

Now I know the trick about THB./Euro. But first time complete refusal/acceptance. Other companies( BigC. etc.) no problems.

Are we supposed to just accept this kind of refusing a creditcard. Is it allowed ? Can they (in this case Mc.C.) maybe "edit" the system.

Many thanks in advance for your reaction.

  4. I have had confirmation direct from a few medical company's.

As long as you join up before you are 65 they will cover up to the maximum on the policy's.

What pre conditions apply and what is the increase on premiums each year?

    Here is a example

A Insurance Broker could answer about pre conditions

Be very careful with Thai healthins. in general. See for example Remark nr. 5 in the above mentioned example of thaihealth. Up to now I haven't found a healthins. that does not include coverage for more or less the whole world, which many of us don't need I think.

  5. On 21/12/12 we reported to TT&T Callcenter 1103 that we not had a signal. After about 15 min. "we are not availeble now, we still service another client, please hold the line" finally a woman answers and tells us : will report to technician who will contact us tomorrowmorning.

The next morning nothing happens, so after lunchtime we again phone 1103 and ask for the same woman, but "she took the day off" and the new one tells us the same story again and she promised to let us know what was going on.

On 26/12/12 still nothing had happened and we sent an email to TT&T through //removed// (in Thai).

Within about 10 min. we got a standard reply with almost the same wording as the two Callcenter women.

And surprise surprise we could always phone their Callcenter.

Anybody out there has this kind of experience with TT&T and could give us advice on what to do next.

    Many thanks in advance.

  6. A very good evening to you all,

Hopefully you can use your keyboard without moving and shaking, because I can't.

Starting yesterday 17:00 till very late at night, again this morning at 07:00 till now there is some

gathering going on (balloons ? and some 10 motorized skydivers in the afternoons) at the new Municipallity building , not far from Sansai Postoffice along same road towards Sansai Noi .

It looks like they can't do without such loud music and shouting through their loudspeakers that even we at a distance of about 3000 mtr. have to live with the constant baseboing-boing in a way that our childeren can't make their homewerk, the dog starts barking and we have to shout in our own house.

Mind you we are a bit used to noise coming from this place, but this is redicuul.

Apart from that over time it'getting louder and later into the night.

    Any help and/or advice appriciated.

  7. Hello Everybody Out There,

Looking for certified eyedocter, who apart from measuring also has and can handle equipment to check inside the eye, eyepressure etc.etc. And after that produces a prescription for the opticien.

Preferrable in Sansai Area. RAM 1 and Shripat docters are known.

Please share experience. Maybe Mc.Cormick, Lanna or RAM 2 ?!

Many thanks in advance for your comments and names.

  8. Had quite abad experience with North.W. last december. Car had not been checked properly, insidelight didn't work, tyres not enough profile, not alligned. All things things you find out later :half way BKK:steeringwheel

shaking like hell at 110/120 KPH. or when you get into the car after dark.

No manual so didn't know how to use automatic on moutainroad on Koh Chang. Very dangerous : one time we had to drive downhill backward.

Most annoying on the day before last day of rentalperiode officelady started phoning and tried to charge 300,==THB. p/h !! extra if we returned the car back too late on that day, altough we had extended the rentalper. until the next day. No mention at all of 300 thb. in the contract. Just trying I guess.

All in all not very smooth. Of course they didn't do anything wrong. The caar was 100 percent according to the manager/owner

Left me with a painfull wrist that had to be taped. Certenly not recommand.

  9. Hi All, I went to the Dutch Embassy today to renew my passport. I made the needed photo's at a shop just oppossite the Embassy (there are 2 shops that can make photo's, but I choose the shop in yellow (under the Tonson building). 150 baht for excellent photo's within 10 minutes. They have the requirements for the Dutch passportphoto's in the shop as well and he measured also the photo (some inside measurements need to be exact!) to check etc. Actually I was going to give Mario2008's advice a try, but arrived there before the openingstime of Central, so just checked out some shops near the Embassy.

Anyway, I thought maybe this info is useful to another Dutch guy here in Thailand :)

Very good info for another Dutch guy here in Thailand, Cheops !!! Please could you be a bit more specific about "Tomson building", where, openingtimes, name

photoshop, how many photo's for THB. 150.00 etc.etc. Made an appointment at Embassy ?

    Many thanks in advance.

Sorry, forgot :had the new passport sent to your home ?

  11. Are You 100% sure it was prf. K. herself who did the Colonoscope/Gastroscope ? She had me sign a consent (minutes before being taken to the op.room)

so other hosp.med.staff did the job. Never seen her again on the day. Bad taste.

  12. I had a colonoscopy and gastroscopy done at different times by Professor Kannika (woman) at Rajavej.

Some insurance companies want you to have this as an outpatient, so they don't have to pay the full whack. Both times she admitted me, telling the insurance that I was too anxious to have it done as an OP.

The cost including admission etc was 20,000 which the insurance paid. Actually I was nervous (but could have had it done as OP) and wanted reassurance that I wouldn't know anything about the procedure. I remember getting on the op table both times, turning on my side and that's all until I woke up.

I believe it's about 12,000 Baht if you have it done as an OP. My wife had a colonoscopy done at Ram by Dr Lee?. She was OK and he plays a CD for you afterwards showing the procedure, with little snips he takes off here and there - I thought he was very professional. I didn't get that just a discussion about the results.

It's a very standard procedure, but don't worry you won't feel anything. :)
