if your wanting to travel to thailand for the very first time i would advise you to enjoy yourself..witness the wonderful thai culture--visit some of the worlds greatest landscapes...just dont trust people you have never met....many farrang will be guliable--its like no other country.....in thailand you can purchase everything and anything.....just keep your wits about you.....and avoid dodgy bars and beach road in the early hours of the morning if visiting pattaya.

and the jet skies which are owned by the local police.....when you return after enjoying 30 minutes-----will be told damage mister? happan dozens of time a day

just avoid like the plague.......

majority of teachers who work in thailand_dont do it for the money,but to help the less fortunate to achieve a better education..also understand some teachers working in rural areas are earning alot less-- teachers are supposed to show leadership...because good students need to be aspired by somebody---not drug dealers.....

pattaya has become a nightmare over the last 2 years,. gun weilding youths with no respect..and normally a low IQ

so many young people from the villages have moved to pattaya and bangkok...looking for a better future_instead they end up either dead or in prison.....normally through drugs "yabba" is a huge problem in thailand.....being bought in from cambodia..... thailand is supposed to be the land of smiles....guns should be illegal an all countries-and big prison sentances is the only way to deal with these heanus crimes which destroy the lifes of innocent people.

the baht has been very strong over the last 3 years in thailand,. the bankers have been greedy......this year will see the start of a recession start to hit thailand,. many hotels / condos being built. thats great but where are the guests....tourism has decreased by over 42% within the last 12 months.... banks where offering 68 baht to the £. when the recession hit the british pound......prices have continued to rise over the last couple of years...thailand is no longer the bargain destination to travel...

i would hope things improve,as i travel to thailand on a regular basis to see my thai partner.

I feel sorry for him, there are a lot of people who prefer younger partners, I am sure its genetic just as it is for others such as gay, straight or whatever etc... have been visiting this wonderfull country for the last 8 years..... my first visit i was getting 72 baht 2 the £ 2 years ago the baht fell from 67 baht 2 49 overnight!!

thailand has become very expensive indeed.........accomdation,food,drink has increased above inflation................every £ i exchange i have lost over 2,000 baht from original exchange rates..... yes the banks here in thailand are strong............ after the christmas festival thailand will start to go into recession...........everywhere i go i see new hotels and condominums being built!!! yet these places remain empty...............without guests. people from europe have kept thailand running for many years_today these same people will go to malasia/singapore/phillapines...............looking for value for there money.......................i now can no longer stay in these expensive holiday resorts and choose to stay up country in buriram with my thai partner and family......... even staying there i have realized these long stays can no longer continue.

currantly having the families home made bigger and modernised............when the family first bought there property they paid around 220,000 baht.

i have built a bigger extension.new kitchen---bedroom,toilet etc etc-----------spent over 5k and still uncomplete.

every 60 days i am leaving thailand to get my visa updated!!! again a added expence when i am also going befor the thai embassy back home in the uk spending around 3,800 baht-----------travel thailand always in the region of around 1,000£ english........................ when i can get a all inclusive 2wks in the carrabean,.

what the foreign traveller need is at least 55 baht to the pound..........a change in visa regulations and prices to be displayed so the foreigner no the price of goods!!!!

thais see farrang and want to charge them over 3 times more than the thai person...............

i can understand the problems _ here in thailand i can take a tefel course at a cost of just over £800 in bangkok---supposed to then be garanteed a job paying 35,000 baht per month with an additional 5,000 baht towards housing costs.....back home in the uk same course £425? almost twice as much here in thailand just to take a course...

majority of the teachers here are american and cannot speak correct english---eg rubbish/garbage sauce/jelly food/groceries the list goes on and on,.

i have no tefel qualifications but could still teach better than the majority of these teachers................so if a school here in buriram is looking for a english speaker then you can send myself a reply to my e-mail box

a double entry mean exactly that_arrive get 60 days======when finish go border run another 60 days will then be given -not sure of the charge for this- it is difficult to understand---i got a double entry in the uk b4 flying out--------------information poor from immigration.............i am staying in buriram-----visa expires 11th december then i will have to go to chon chom surin/cambodia border...............believe this information correct if not i would also appreciate more help.

as a tourist living 6 months here_6 months uk..............its very annoying.................visa runs- this will not bring tourism back to thailand but will help us farrang who spend thousands of pounds here in thailand helping keep the ecconomy afloat,. its the banks who set the rate-----they have had it to good for the last couple years............whilst everywhere been in recession and will continue in recession for the next 2years----thailand has remained strong...........next year that will change-----------------to many properties being built----and no customers------------------same as bars!!!!!

do i have to go to the immigration in buriram and register my address.............was not going to register but leave the country after 60 days renew visa again another 60 days............people with experience will hopefully put me on the right proceedure...........travel thailand many occassions........but never for more than 3 months and never stayed at my partners befor.................so need some help in the new proceedures

I was there two days ago. The kid (not in uniform) that served me said: copies of passport main page, current extension page, arrivals card, house papers. No mention of proof of address. A Thai woman was asking what was going on. Another officer explained that regulation was always on the books, and there was a new head guy who wants it enforced.

the beaches in pattaya are dirty_if walking alomg the beach front in the evening or early morning_you will see vermon........pattaya need the pied piper_______2 many rats

nakula has better beaches.....very clean and less hassle from the vendors,. pattaya need 2 sort out all the empty phone boxes....

thais cannot translate english_they read from american books and use american slang,.....its comical some of the words my thai lady use.

i purchased a english dictionary here in the uk_not a copy in thailand...........and her accent has improved almost 70% now she realize not everything same/same..

fed up with the people who dont no the story slagging this fella off!! american marines in thailand believe they are above the law....seen lots trouble with pissed up marines---now the gi stay in large groups.
