Try in Theppasit Road, 200 metres down from the PTT service station, lots of boxes out the front usually.
They are generic, not original but work fine, around 150-200 baht.

If I have read the new rules correctly and based upon my own friends at my local IM office... the figure that must be shown (800k) is only for the 3-month period after getting your Visa (mst be in for 3 or 2 months prior depending on if you are renewing or first timer). After that you can withdraw 400k and only have to keep the other 400k in the bank and be able to show it as being there every month during your 90-day report (how that will play with the inline reporting... I have no idea).
I have only done 1 x 90 report is 10 years, I generally get bored enough to go on a trip after about 2 months.
As a result, I would not be visiting for a 90 report (interrogation).
I wonder what happens if I drop under the 400k for say 2 weeks in the 6th month, eg, still 6 months remaining on my extension.
Come renewal time, it would be interesting to see what the consequences would be....

So it won't be immediately cancelled when it drops below 800,000 - it will be cancelled when they find out which could be weeks later
You are correct, maybe I worded that badly.
You show the updated book on your return 3 months after receiving your extension as per the date stamped on your form.
If it has dropped below 800k during that period, your Visa is cancelled was the threat, I wouldn't like to test it.

Thanks for that report. I had ASSUMED as much but yours, I think, is the first report from anyone in any immigration office that's been posted here.
I've been focused on this because I think it's very important.
I think we need to know the specific legal consequences for violating these new and onerous POST seasoning requirements.
So it's cancelled. Then what? How many days to leave? Blacklisted? We need details!
Also what about going under one baht AFTER the 800K post seasoning, in the 400K phase.
Same consequences?
These rules are onerous enough without the public being in the DARK about the actual specific LEGAL CONSEQUENCES of going under during the post seasoning periods. We know the situation for PRE seasoning non-compliance. That means simply you won't be eligible for the next extension.
What we don't know yet are the specific legal consequences of failure to comply with the post seasoning (800K and 400K).
What if someone is in the 400K phase and wants to leave Thailand and drains their account? Are they then in illegal alien status for all the time BEFORE they actually leave?
We cannot assume anything because I am sure that the Offers have no idea what all the rules are other than the obvious ones. Remember they probably don't get any training as rules change, they operate as we do & assume the interpretations.

Did you ask the IO how s/he will know that the bank balance has dropped below 800,000 so your visa can be immediately cancelled?
They give you a paper with a date stamped on the bottom for you to return with an updated bank book. There was no mention of a bank letter, just an updated book.

Jomtien has been ordering every income method retirement extension applicant since March to come in after 90 days AFTER their extension to show their bank book has not gone one baht under 800K baht. They are simply ENFORCEMENT the police order about post seasoning. That's the legal justification. Sorry to say as onerous as this is, it is completely legally justified.
Legal consequences of showing and being under? We don't know but the general assumption is that the current annual extension would be then CANCELLED.
Consequences of not showing for an ordered money showing if not abroad? Again, we don't know but I also think it's fair to assume that they wouldn't be above making house calls. The new immigration rules -- no joke. (Groan.)
Legal consequences of showing and being under? We don't know but the general assumption is that the current annual extension would be then CANCELLED.
I was in Jomtien Immigration yesterday. The IO clearly stated that if the bank balance drops below 800,000, your Visa will be immediately cancelled-

Hi All,
I have built a bungalow in my backyard resulting in a total revamp of the area.
I am looking for a person/company that can give some advice, plans, materials, plants & competent labour for this job.
,Everywhere I look only has the same plants, pavers etc. I don't want grass, just plants, trees, stones, pavers etc.
I am looking for a plan & execution with some forethought for this project.
Any help gratefully accepted & thanks in advance.

guess what I did?
on recommendation by others as well, went to Numchai and bought a 65" TCL! At a fraction of the price of the <deleted> up Samsung and good picture quality.
In the reviews, they praise this unit for best price/quality ratio.
TCL seems to be coming up, maybe easy to capitalize on the arrogance of the "established" brands.
BTW, Numchai said, they do not repair Samsungs, but bring them to the official Samsung service.
My 55 inch Sony was quoted at 35,000 to fix at Numchai.
I took it to another repairer who quoted 13,000 to fix.
Guess what, both companies took it to Sony for the repair cost as only they have the parts.
Numnuts are a rip off of the highest order.
The real lesson is to always buy the extra insurance.
Numchai charge 7% of the purchase price.
Power Buy charge 8.5%

About half way between Sukhumvit and Thappraya roads on Thepprasit road is a TV repair shop. It is almost right across the street from the 7/11 that has a gas station. It is a small shop, so you really have to look for the “TV Repair” sign.
I have used him twice, and he has done a good job both times. The owner speaks a little English and will even pickup your TV, of course that depends on where you live.
Thanks for that information.
I will be picking up my 55 inch Sony from Numnuts tomorrow & taking it to this shop.
It is 20 Months old, cost 40,000 to buy & they want 35,000 to repair the screen.... forget it.
As someone else has stated in this subject, I will also be buying a TCL with a 3 year warranty for less than 1/2 that cost.
I also had a Samsung that they wanted 14,000 to repair, I gave it to our Thai labour & they got it fixed for 2,000 in a small Thai repair shop.
No more expensive appliances in Thailand for me again....

im sorry but I dont follow your directions at all. Are you saying its quicker to drive up the 344 and then go down the 331 and then left at route 7? This seems a longer way on the map??
Leave Pattaya from where ever you are & get onto 331 heading past Amarta & Greenwood Golf then as directions given, turn right onto 344 & continue to Klaeng. Then turn left & continue to Chanta.
Refer to your map

Hi,
I have done the trip to Chanta from Pattaya probably 50 times .
The absolute quickest way is to take hway 331 out past Greenwood Golf Club & turn right into hway 344. The only hold up is around Amarta & Bowin if you are there when workers are off to the factories so plan around that.
This brings you to a "T" intersection just past Klaeng & all you miss all the traffic lights. I used to stop at the Green Leaf petrol station about another 2klms further on the left to pick up my favourite sticky rice cooked in bamboo.
It is about 30klms further but 45 minutes quicker & very few traffic lights so the stress level is much lower.
Hope this helps

I had to use this when I was living in Oz, it was about $80 or close to 2400 baht with the conversion at the time.
Would be interested in the price here & I concur with the Facino suggestion.

Mr. Bee 0817 812 719
Bee speaks good English & maintains/repairs many Village pools inc. the Village I live in.
He has great knowledge & is very helpful with options where there is a problem.
Bee also travels with his crew to Koh Chang once a year for a week to service many hotels down there.
Good Luck

About 40 metres from North Pattaya Bus Station on the same side towards Suk Road.
The repair desk is off the lane beside the shop, park outside the desk in the lane as there is hardly any traffic there.
They send it to BKK to the company, very slow & expect a 2 month wait.
They are also not shy when they do the bill, it may be a very costly exercise I am afraid.

Just came back from my local supermarket, Leo at 34 baht a small bottle. If the rate rise was immediate then who's worried at that price :)
Small Singha Light was 32 baht, now 45 baht in 7/11, about 40% increase
A box was about 780 baht so assume now about1035 baht

The hotel in Udon is supposed to submit your details to Immigration; there's no need for you to do it. If the hotel doesn't file it, it is the hotel's problem, not yours. However, it is unlikely that there will be any problem of any sort for anyone.
When you get back home and assuming your Thai domicile falls under Jomtien Immigration, if they haven't asked you or whoever is household 'possessor' to submit a TM30 when filing extensions or initiating 90-day reporting, then you don't have to worry about it.
Technically, the landlord, home owner or 'possessor' of the residence is required by law to report the presence of a foreigner residing at that address to Immigration within 24-hours. Some jurisdictions allow landlords, home owners and 'possessors' to pre-register so that this filing can be done online. It is unclear if Jomtien supports this online system but based on a recent thread that suggested that certain people* filing extensions and/or 90-day reports were being given extra scrutiny and being fined regarding lack of TM30 filing at Jomtien Immigration, it would appear they do not.
In my case, after hearing that Udon Immigration (where I sued to live) were asking extension applicants and 90-day reporters to get their landlords, owners or 'possessors' to complete TM30's as part of their application processing, I took a completed TM30 to Jomtien Immigration as part of my paperwork for my annual retirement extension. They handed the form back to me as it was not required.
* Comment on the people being hassled at Jomtien. It may be in relation to running unregistered guest houses or hotels or possibly staying in unregistered guesthouses or hotels. Apparently there's a whole lot of places in the hospitality business in Pattaya that aren't registered as such.
Thanks very much for that concise information.
It is so confusing with little or no information being supplied by Immigration in a uniform or structured way.
Cheers

Hi,
I am finding the whole TM30 issue totally confusing, there are many conflicting posts about this subject being published on TV.
My issue is as follows,
I arrive from overseas at Swampy on a Friday morning , then catch a flight to Udon Thani on the same day, arriving about lunchtime.
We will be staying in a hotel for 4 days in Udon, then driving back to Pattaya as my wife will have already driven our car up there for Songkran.
Do I need to register with Immigration in Udon on the Monday (weekends are allowed as a non reporting time) or is the assumed hotel registration sufficient for my TM30?
If I do need to register with Udon Immigration, do I need to register again when we return home in Pattaya, I am assuming yes....
If I need to register at Udon, do I then need to take proof of my residence with me, say a Chanote or a yellow house book
I have lived in the same address for 10 years, why do we need to continually prove our living arrangements?
In the past 3 months I have renewed my retirement visa extension & completed another 90 day report, surely that is proof enough for Immigration of my residency.
Another possible issue, if you go to say Koh Chang for 4 days, do you need to reregister again on arrival back at your listed residential address?
Thanks in anticipation of helpful comments.

You didn't even mention that totally new large hall in the front that is all about food.
There are indeed new stores in this mall, and more to come as well.
I'm with the, I love the new Marina mall brigade, but find the overplaying of the Japanese theme a bit much. There is a mall in Bangkok like that, almost all Japanese places mostly for Thais.
Another thing I noticed is that at least so far, the focus of this new mall is mostly towards Thais as opposed to Central Pattaya Beach which is clearly a much bigger foreign tourist play.
The whole place was far too noisy for me with the loud piped music & the shrills of the ladies flogging whatever outside every second shop. I really was happy to leave but respect everyone's alternative opinion.
Just expressing my point of view about the place, couldn't get out quick enough.

Went there today, what a crap shopping centre. The top level is phone shops, IT shops & the overpriced sports store.
The lower level has mainly the same shops as previously except with the addition of the food park.
We got our cards for food but we were driven out before we could purchase by this screeching bitch on a microphone that they could hear in Central Beach Rd. I asked them to turn down the volume but got a blank stare, bye bye Central Marina
I think it is a very ordinary shopping centre, the only saving grace will be the Big C when that is finished for the folks in North Pattaya.
Happy to be away from there.

My last bill was for 17 units, total cost of 261.08 = 15.35 baht per unit (1000 litres)
My house is in a Company name, I am not sure if this increases the unit cost.

That's sad to hear...if permanent...but I could see it coming. I think they lived off the winter influx of European snowbirds and I think their numbers have been down significantly since the whole economic meltdown and Euro debt crisis of 2008. The owner was also getting on in years and may have decided to hang up his chef's hat.
You could check with Tocino nearby to see if they're doing anything special for Christmas...again a garden setting.
Also, The Courtyard on soi Nongpru near Siam Country Club may have something going.
Since my post earlier today I have seen it for sale with East Coast Real Estate.
Owning a restaurant is a tough gig, marginally less than owning a bar I think.

I would second The Loft by Maprachan Lake, Murphys Pub on NPW, or Livv at the top of Khow Talo. Also, the garden setting of Swiss Paradise Restaurant near Wat Suttawas is nice. Four choices for you .
Just a note that the Swiss Paradise Restaurant is closed, we went there last night but all in darkness.

Thanks for suggestions to date.
The Loft, had a bad meal experience there & the owner showed little or no regard.
The Mediterranean has very nice food but the premises are looking run down & unappealing now.
The Swiss is an option, will pop around & check out their menu.
Suggestion is always highly recommended by friends so another option.
Thanks again.

Had the same guy for 15 years, now he is very unreliable & very expensive.
He really has taken the Thai duel pricing policy on board with gusto.
Does anyone have a reliable & reasonable priced company they use or recommend?
Thanks in Advance
