  2. Hey mate just wondering what you have done to your E-Tan . You must of had a few ideas by now . New motor Around 50 k . Thats a good start and a lick of paint , cheap , led glow lights underneath the chassis mate. I'm fitting an amp with Ipod jack on mine with some f@#k off speakers left over from our karaoke bar days . Hopefully drown out the loud thunder of an exhaust on it .

  3. My wife came home today from the parents', apparently no rice is being grown in Amphur Thoen (between Tak and Lampang) this year, not enough water.

Not to mention no money to be made.

You'll be happy to know it's hammering down outside ,I live smack bang in the middle of Tak and Lampang 60 klms from Thoen and it's raining hard out ,all week it's been trying to.

  4. We dropped into our two local frog and fish breeding shops the other day and noticed a similar setup as yours . I watched them move the frogs with great ease as they had large concrete tanks with continious water flow and the had the same netting underneath their fogs without a plastic bottom and we're able to heard them to one corner for harvesting .
Thanks for putting up all your details in details as most things we have tried my family have no concept of gross and net and Profit.
I will try and take some pictures next time I go passed

  5. Yeah they are interesting to drive and dangerous, the Thais make it look easy . My FiL had a good laugh as I drove my uncles one around , squeeze hand lever to turn left snd right to go right and clutch and revs on the handle bars . No dead man switch so if you fall of the bugger keeps on trucking on till you catch it. Just ask my BiL hahaha. Oh and reverse is insane on these.

  6. There's still good deals out there but yes land prices have shot up over the past couple of years . Our last purchase of 10 Rai for 8 /9 year old rubber trees last week was for 900,000 baht and our other 25 Rai of Rubber trees with 500 meters of road frontage was 2,000,000 , I've seen prices double that throughout Thailand for similar plots . Ive been looking for land down Cha am way now for a while , still waiting for the right one to come up, might be a while. As for farming blocks we've picked them up for as little as 10,000 a Rai and 22,000 a Rai for rice paddies . Just to give you and idea whats out there for the taking.

  7. Hi all just wondering whats the average return for people using your lsnd to grow rice . This year we were given 40 x 50kg bags out of their 100 bags and were told that next year they would only give us 30, to which they were told not to worry about coming back and we'll do it ourselves again, as we have done in the past.

Just interested what the going rate around Thailand.

    Cheers

  9. I have had the bad luck of being stung by a small scorpion twice a couple of new years ago . The first time was , when i was pulling my shorts on and it was in my right short leg and stung me in quick concession about 5-7 times which was excruciating and for the next 12 hours I cohld feel spasms and hot flashes through my thigh with the toxin moving around .

The second I time, i was in my bed and bitten close to the same spot on my thigh. Now I take precautions and shake my clothes before I put them on . Itz the small ones you have to worry about. By the way we live in a remote village so critters are everywhere.

  10. The black surface mounted double pole isolator will only act as a switch to isolate the appliance . What I have found is that the earth wire attaches from inside the HWU and then goes outside and is bolted to a copper earth stake which is bashed into the ground to provide a path of lest resistance for the fault current to escape to . Look for a single ( hopefully green in colour) coming out the rear or bottom of your HWU. Aussie sparky in Thailand.

  11. Just bought a brand new one with just the chassis and 14 horse Kubota engine with extra low gear option all up cost me 195000 Bt nd now I'm just doing the wood work for the cabin and rear with swing down doors which should cost all up around 20000 Bt . This was built at the local etan outdoor manufacturing place and you can choose different options from 6 wheel , stronger diff etc

  12. I live in province of Sukhothai and we have just spent 200, 000 Bt on bringing the front of our block up to road level . The dimensions of this area is 70 mtrs wide by 70 mtrs back and around 2 mtrs to 3 mtrs deep . We had 220 x 10 wheel tip trucks @ 430 Bt and 400x 6 wheel tip trucks @ 220 Bt and tractor was included in this price . This worked in well as a neighbour needed a huge dam dug Gordon their rubber trees . The trucks took about 4 days to transport and level out the dirt.
