  1. They seem to be good at catching criminals from overseas but what about the Mr / Mrs Big that are here in Thailand? Something does not add up here

Hang on, have they caught him or just named him?

From the information released so far, it sounds like the Brits have just named him.

Now it's up to the Thai cops to catch him - that is, if he's still here and didn't do a quick runner.

A Teessider living in Thailand has been named as the Mr Big behind a drugs conspiracy that flooded the area with high-grade cocaine.

Seems pretty dam clear to me.

How many posters actualy read past the headline

  2. Is this thread a paid/sponsored post/ad???

It certainly reads like one. Or a verbatim press release, at best.

Shouldn't advertisements be labeled as such?

    Ain't rocket science bro'

Woops .. this is TV "Shoot first, aim later"

That "Advertisement" tag is for the obvious ads that appear on all ThaiVisa pages, unless they're blocked by AdBlock as they are in my browser, until I turn it off as the image below shows.

It's not a tag for the quasi-advertising Banana thing that's the subject of the thread.

    * Sigh *

How about the "Presented by" .. did that tip you off at all ... since this is obviously a paid ad?

There really is no end to having to explain the obvious to many TV readers.

"Advert Presented by" would be much to obvious, nobody would want to read it, aw wait, the penny just dropped

  3. I love Samui, and am heading there at the end of this month.

But I don't think it will appeal to the Chinese all that much as there isn't much to see there, it is more of a relax by the beach sort of place.

Go see the mummified monk, grandma and grandpa rock and a waterfall and that is about it. Chinese like getting up early and sightseeing all day, Samui doesn't have much in the way of that sort of stuff.

Theres a lot less sights to see on Koh Samet and it seems to be rammed with chinese every day of the week

I was over there last month for 1 night and when i went out just before 5am to get a few pics of the sunrise, i guesstimate there was over 300 of them already on sai kaew beach, some in the water and some waiting for there parasail boat to arrive.

  4. Even when we're in town and eating in the malls we always head for the Thai food section. Thais aren't very good at imitations, and that includes imitations of farang food.

I must be doing something wrong, because every time I eat in the Thai food section, I get the shakes and I'm hungry and very sleepy (to the point of being crabby) 30 minutes later.

That's not so prevalent in more expensive places, so I chalked it up to MSG in cheap Thai food, but maybe it's something else?

Because I love the flavors- but many Thai foods don't appear to like me.

It's probably the MSG, sugar and salt. Or perhaps the ubiquitous chili.

No-one has to eat Thai food here if they don't want to. All it takes is going to one of the multitude of Thai daily markets, where one can buy fish, meat, vegetables and fruit at very low cost, then take it home and cook it themselves.

I've been eating market food here for over 7 years, and have never been sick on it even once. It's not hard to discern the good food stalls, there are clusters of Thais around them.

Yeah nice one bazza, except youve thrown common sense into the mix. In these nasty threads it's just pure black and white. If you don't spend 5000 baht a week in Lotus or Villa than you must only eat somtam in the gutter or the dodgiest Street food available. Same as if you live here on a budget than by default you must be a lowlife loser in a fan room who soon is going to (hopefully) have a an accident that will devastate whatever savings you have and ruin your life. Some really miserable <deleted> on here. It's no surprise most foreigners dodge other foreigners like the plague in Thailand. Who would want to meet any of these judgemental sods

You nailed that with a nailgun, didnt ya

  5. Click is big enough for riding in bkk traffic, have a look what the moto taxis are using, you wont see many pcx. Idle stop and cast wheels adds around 5000B to price and is of very little use, 5000B will get you around 200l of fuel and its not hard to turn the key off while waiting at the lights.

I perfer the Yamaha fino (full size, not mio) myself, its the most comfortable scooter i have ever owned.

Before buying, go and hire a few different models for a day and see what is comfortable for you

  6. I have that issue also. As it turns out it is actually an Adobe issue.

Adobe flash? hmm, is there a workaround?

go to filehippo.com and download chrome ver 13.0.772.0

i have updated a few times and end up going back to this version as it works fine for me

  7. Just tried logging on whilst in KL (Sunday night). Tried a couple of browsers too but still 'forgets' my login info and starts me over again. Opera browser ended up suggesting the website is too busy and try later.

it was impossible to book flights with google chrome

only internet explorer worked for me
