I was under the impression that the rule was , "You have to send 90day reporting to Bangkok" Am i wrong?
I have only reported once by post but I sent the form and my passport copies to the local immigration office. I never received the 'receipt' but the office confirmed (over the telephone) that they had received and processed my report. On my next trip, they were unhappy that I didn't have the receipt in my passport but they eventually confirmed that they had a record of my report and that was sufficient. Had I been 'interviewed' by the police for any reason during that time, I do not know what the outcome would have been.

Three months...I can't keep my neighbours waiting more than a week. They start foraging through my fridge and cupboards the day after, but I hold 'em off for seven. Not enough empty jars to do more and there's nowhere to hide them anyway.
The onions I leave for at least 4 weeks in a dark cupboard. After that, I place them in the fridge overnight. I use pricked fresh red chilies for flavour (about 8 or 9 Thai chilies per litre) and the longer the onions are left, the hotter they become.
Talking of chili for flavouring, I added some cayenne peppers to a bottle of vodka. After 2 weeks it blew my head off!

That's a great recipe, Jayenram, as if your beef stew with yoghurt and lime juice. I'm gonna resurrect that thread. Thanks.
If you go to my site (www.freebeerforyorky.com), load in the Scoville Scale or Herbs and Spices, there's a recipe site link at the bottom of the page (your-recipe) which has many of my recipes in.

There is a distinct shortage of single and double cream in this neck of the woods, in fact, I've not been able to find any.
However, I read somewhere once that a substitute can be made with natural yogurt by adding something. Would anyone know about such a thing? I'll be using the 'cream' to cook Chicken Tikka Masala amongst other dishes.
Cheers

the preparation is a bit complicated and garam flour is almost impossible to come by in Thailand.
Although it's not quite authentic, I substitute tempora flour for gram flour. Very little difference in the finished product.

I guess there must be some form of cost of living index regularly published in Thailand but I cannot see that a general index will apply to most farang that are living here.
The question was addressed in the pub yesterday as to how the cost of living for a farang has increased over the past three years. A statement was made that the cost had virtually doubled during the period.
I appreciate that many items (particularly fuel and fuel related items) have increased in price substantially but I cannot agree that my cost of living has. My retirement pension has increased by approximately 6% in the period in question and although I have not made any conscious effort to curtail my spending, I am still not spending more than I receive.
Has anyone any ideas?

Buck, Baz what do you think? The CM boys or the Isaan Lads for Party Kings title?
Both about the same except surin they fit in as much drinking in one day what Chiang mai we did in 5
Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending how you look upon it), the majority of the local Surin heavyweights are currently out of the country and therefore will not be attending.

I have office 2007 installed
Mac,
Being our age I found it difficult to get round html coding at first so I initially used MS Publisher on my site. It's simple to use and integrates with MS Powerpoint for producing graphics. The downside is the resultant large size of the files which can make loading time slow.
Once I'd used Publisher, I then used an html editor to see how the code looks and hopefully how it works. I am now able to basically edit certain areas if I wish.
Beware with MS Publisher though: it is not 100% compatible with I.E. for some reason. Firefox and Netscape, no problem.

Khow Pra Viharn is much more spectacular than Phanom Rung, but not for the faint hearted. Yorkie prefers Phanom Rung because you can drive to the top and avoid hard W**k climbing.
Correct, you can drive to the top for an extra Bht 20.00 (a different entry gate though). But there are other reasons why I prefer Phnom Rung. It's nearer to my home, the entrance fees are vastly cheaper and it is definitely better maintained.

It's the heavy-drinking farang influence there.
There's very few "heavy-drinking farang" here. That's just a rumour put about by the temperance society.

I was told that the reason many school kids in Surin don't have a rear light at all, is that they remove the bulb to be "cool".

And pak chee farang is parsley.
To clarify for English speakers, cilantro is coriander leaf.
I was cooking something the other day and I realised I didn't have any coriander leaf. I asked the old lady at the pub next door if she had any spare "pak chee". She brought me a Pepsi.
My Thai has got to get better!
