I know one of the guys he got most of his bail money back and am told the case is still on appeal, the big guy who organised the raid said he would leave it to the courts to decide, they decided it was not a crime, and he has appealed this decision to a higher court as he didn't agree with the verdict.

We always stop at Kamphaeng Phet.. Half way and there are some lovely (and cheap) guesthouses and restaurants on the riverside (veer left before you cross the bridge when entering town, then turn right along the river). Good for a couple of days if you like history - the World Heritage Historical Park and of course not too far away is Sukothai. On our first visit we stopped for one night, ended up staying for 3. If you're retired like me why kill yourself by doing the long drive to CM in one day - stupid!

I have been driving on thai licences for 12 years now, hate going for renewals as I have a curved spine and although I can walk, run, jump, drive etc Pattaya licence office boss in her words says "I look different" and the boss woman will not believe I can drive even with a doctors letter, she makes me take the driving test every time I go, then she stares in disbelief when I go back with a pass, this last time she then made me go back and drive the big boss, I had to pick him up from his gf office drive out the compound, turn right, turn right again back into the compound and he got out and said ok he was in the car 7 seconds. I was there 7 hours for a five year renewal. Third time i have been through this and this time I complained, was told would be same again next visit as she is the boss. Think I might try Bangkok one next time.

As i understand it I dont think you can stay more than 9 months on a triple entry tourist visa as the visa expires 6 months after issue, so you must make sure you utilise your 3rd entry part just as it expires then you have 60 days plus 30 day extension from then ie

say you buy visa 1 week before you travel 1st October you then travel to thailand 7th October, you get 60 days to 6th Dec, plus 30 day extension to 5th Jan, do visa run return same day get 60 days to 7th March extend 30 days will take you to 6th April but your visa will expire 31st March so you must do a 3rd visa run before it expires taking you to 30th May plus 30 day extension takes you to 29th June.

I have today done my second part of triple entry tourist visa at Poipet/Ban Pakard and had no problems or questions in out very quickly, I was worried beforehand with all the rumours thankfully all seems settled. I was suprised that they have demolished most of the original border and immigration buildings though and they have a smaller area set aside to do all in one location now. Also noted very few falangs there, maybe 10 in the time I was there, mainly asians now, last time I went there were lines of falangs waiting 30 minutes to go through immigration.

I have done a few visa runs with various companies either from queen vic soi 6 or sportsman, takes the hassell away, you get a nice breakfast comfortable mini bus, free wifi, yes they drive like shit but it does the job, at the border Ban Packard usually, you get out the bus walk to a window get a stamp, the company take your passport you walk 50 yards to a shop sit down and wait for your passport to be sorted then packed lunch supplied on the bus and return, usually back by 3pm.
