Bangkok- CW. Today - 23/4/2019.

I have just been told that CW no longer accepts Citibank Thailand accounts for B800,000 3 month deposits.
An officer informed a friend -who was applying for 2nd time extension that CW will only accept "Thai" bank accounts
and that this rule has been in place since March 29, 2019.
Does anyone have information on this "new" rule.

My husband and I (both with extensions based on retirement / USA) jointly own our condo in Bangkok. All visa issues are dealt with at CW. How do we fill out-process TM 30 (Notification for the Housemaster, Owner or Possessor (sic) of the Residence where the Alien has Resided). We do not always re enter Thailand together at the same time.
-
Who is responsible for filing TM30 if the foreigner owns condo (12 years ownership and 14 years visa extension based on retirement)? All conversation seems to address Thai landlords reporting foreigner presence at Thai owned property.

By husband - previously employed in Thailand is relocating to Singapore for work reasons. I will stay behind with my children who are attending international school. I plan to convert my extension from dependent to quardian and children to education extensions. Can my husband fly back to Thailand twice a month (for weekend) to visit us using visa on arrival. American pasport holders.
-
My daughter and I plan to remain in Bangkok for 1 1/2 years after my husband relocates for business to another country. (We are all Brisih citzens,
my minor daughter attends an international school). I am aware of the financial requirments to obtain an extension based on guardianship to a minor
and documentation required from the school
My question has to do with timing in the change to our status. Our current extensions based on being dependents to work permit holder are valid
though March 2018 although I know this will be cancelled as soon as my husband leaves his current employment at the end of December 2017.

Letter from Bank attesting to funds being on deposit for 3 months in addition to bank statment / Bank book.
Experience (past four years) bank letter dated SAME day as visa extension.
-
This all depends on how old your wife is. Until 50 years old Immigration granted me a dependents retirement extension based on my husbands extension. After 50 I needed my own account with
800,000 on deposit.
-
It has been reported that the son has left Thailand, leaving his parents in the country (mother in hospital). There is only one reason
why one would "abandon" family members in such a sitiuation.
-
CW now asking for bank letter to be dated SAME day as visa extension. Not fun if one's bank does not have a branch at CW
-
Any recent exerience using Citibank (which does not have a branch in CW) to get bank letter confirming bank deposit 800,000 for extension based on retirement? Is letter dated previous day plus ATM slip dated day of immigration visit acceptable?
-
Has anyone had any recent experience with a retirement extension based on funds in account using a Citibank account?
Have just been forewarned that as Citibank does not issue passbooks (which can be updated at CM the morning of
visa extension) the bank letter must be dated the DAY of applying for the extension.
For the past 10 have gotten a letter from Citibank and previous to that HSBC dated the day before / ATM slip dated the day of confirming funds and these 2 documents were accepted.

How can I print out Form 47 without" Text/Format " on the line where I am supposed to fill in info. Can I download form as 2 pages or should it be printed on back and front?

Purchase an inexpensive disposable prepaid phone at any pharmacy/discount store. Starting price app $10.
Another alterantive for malking International calls - from land line- is an international prepaid telephone card. Available at news agents in major cities.

Can you confirm...are both you and your wife (applying for extension as dependent) over 50?
After applying for extensions, similiar situation - married UK/US, for 6 years ,was informed by
Immigration that wife, now over 50 has to apply for individual extension with own financial support.

Is your wife over or under 50 years of age? If former only a marriage certificate required to obtain spousal visa. If older, financials may be asked for ie. 800,000 in a sole account.
I speak from experience. For 5 years I obtained a dependents visa based on my husbands extension based on retirement. (prior to that I held a dependents visa based on my husbands work permit etc) Two years ago upon turning 50 I was told that I would have to apply for an extension of my own with my own financial support documents.
I have sought and received totally conflicting advise regarding this issue. Its become obvious that it is totally up to the immigration official to who one presents qualifying documents.
Also, be aware that bank statements must be in sole names. Joint accounts are not accepted.

Follow up to transferring visa stamps from old to new passport.
1. If the Extension of stay /multiple re entry was issued at Immigration office must do there.
2. Today I went to Chang Wattana to do just that. As my extension of stay (Non Immigrant O) is based on retirement had to see an officer in Non O Immigrant /Retirement section. 5 1/2 hours wait (including lunch hour). 5 minutes with Officer
3. I was then directed to Multiple re entry section to have that stamp transferred with the simple instruction "go to C2 counter) Queue numbers were no longer being given due to lateness in day. Finally caught an officers eye who took my passports.
4. Total time at immigration 7 hours. Granted this was one day after a holiday and the day preceding that was also after a holiday.

Dependent extension
Why does a spouse who previously was granted a dependents visa - based on being married to a person obtaining a One year extension based on retirement have to apply for her own extension based on retirement (with additional financial seeding 800,000 / total 1.6 M for a couple) when she turns 50?
This was communicated to us by Immigration in November 2010 when we applied for our 6th extension.

Retirement extension
With regards to long term holders of One year stay visas...
Will Immigration look into a "retirement" program that will grant extensions of stay for longer periods than one year. ie. retirement program in Malaysia that allows for 10 year visas based on home ownership/financial back up.
-
Is this also true for a Non Thai spouse over 50? Last year my wife was told that she would have to apply for her own retirement extension - with financials - as she was now over 50 ,despite the fact that she has received a dependents extension for the past several years.
-
To clarify, Surayu. You have been told that Clause 2.20 of the Police Order of 777/2551 as it refers to Clause 2.2 is not valid ie. Family member (spouse) of an alien with an extension of one year - based on retirment/Non IMM visa is NOT eligible for extension.
-
How/where does the Police Order No 777/2551 address dependents ie spouses and parents? Since 2005 we have received 12 month extensions based on one of us being over 50 (bank deposit) and the other as a spousal dependent. Original Non Imm received in 2004. We are now being advised, as we are both over 50 that each of us requires individual extensions ie. 800,000 for each on deposit for 3 months
Thai immigration online 90 day reporting system
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Posted
Today 7/2/2024 travelled to Chaeng Wattana to file 90 day report (online attempt rejected)
Was asked for my TM 47 and was told that I needed to refile TM 47 in the new system as mine was done in old system. I own my condo ie. I am both owner and "occupier. Furthermore was told I needed to update TM 47 every year.
Is this a new requirement for filing 90 day reports?
