  1. They are not basically the same, they are the same. Only the required documents are different.

Strictly speaking Thai immigration doesn't know an extension based on marriage or an extension based on having chidren with Thai nationality. Formally It is a an extension of stay based on being a familymember of a Thai national.

The stamps put into the passport are not the same. One says marriage and the other says to support a Thai child.

The requirements are not the same. The inspection process is not the same.

I did mine about 5 years ago so perhaps immigration has become less rigid now so I cannot comment on the present day situation.

  2. Star Member is correct.

I have had extensions based on marriage, extensions based on supporting a Thai child (guardian) and they are basically the same except immigration is much stricter in it's controls for supporting a child. An inspector visited my home, talked to the maids, the neighbors, to security, I had to prove my children were in school with certificates from the schools complete with photos of my children in front of their schools and they went and talked to the schools.

I like the fact that immigration takes the well being of the children so seriously.

  3. I used to buy my leather products at Louis Vuitton, Todds and Zegna until I examined the goods at a shop named "viera by ragazze". The one I go to is in Central Bang Na but to my understanding they also have retail shops at the following:

    Central World 2 nd. floor Tel.0-2613-1028 , Central Ladprao 2 nd.floor Tel 0-2541-1315,Central Bangna 2 nd .floor Tel 0-2361-0613 ,Central Pinklao 1 st.fioor Tel. 0-2884-8218 ,Central Pattaya 2 nd.floor Tel.038-043344, Silom Complex 2 nd.floor Tel.0-2231-3190 , Huahin Market Village 1 st.floor Tel.032-526196 ,Jungceylon Phuket 1 st.floor Tel. 076-602134,Paragon M floor Tel.081-1739406, Isetan 3 rd.floor Tel.081-1739400 , Central Rm9 2 nd.floor Tel.0-2103-4533 ,

At Central Bang Na the quality is excellent and very inexpensive. Shoes that would cost 30,000 at Zegna are just 3900 at Viera for the same quality.

    The bags are the same.

  4. Lets all be adults....the only question is: How much money does the OP have to spend each month. Poor is poor in any country and health is directly related to the amount of income one has to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Thailand is great, I love Thais but to be honest most of them grow old well before their time and this is because of income............................same in the Occidental world as well.

Stay out of the sun (like middle and upper income Thais do), eat hygienic quality food, intake enough protein (protein is expensive here but without it there is no possibility of a healthy body) regular visits to honest Dentists and Doctors and maintain a healthy lifestyle (exercise and not too much alcohol)).

Gee, the same as New York or London or Tokyo. If someone thinks they will remain healthy on 17,000 baht a month in Thailand they are dreaming.

  5. Any place in the world it takes a minimum amount of money to grow up healthy and then to maintain said health.

If you have enough money for a clean place in a clean neighborhood and enough to buy quality food, and there are shops here that sell premium quality meats, then it is no more difficult to maintain health here than in any other major city.

  6. "when insurgents detonated a roadside bomb in southern Afghanistan".....we invade their country, install a puppet government, rape, murder and kill their women and children. I call that defending themselves and their families. I don't call that being an insurgent.

Before I get a bashing let me say I am a War veteran, Wounded, Decorated and with a monthly pension to reward me for my sacrifice. We have no business being there. We invaded them. They never attacked us.

Suggest you look up what the word insurgent means.

insurgent : a person who revolts against civil authority or an established government; especially: a rebel not recognized as a belligerent

A puppet government set up by the invaders does not constitute civil authority. I suggest you read history and the news once in a while.

By your ignorant post I would assume you spend more time with the night ladies than you ever did in school.

Nice try, but wrong on all counts.

Like it or not the Karzai regime is the recognized government of Afghanistan and hence has a seat at the UN. An insurgent is someone in a state of armed rebellion against the constituted authority of a country.

What would you rather call the Taliban?

Bad try, The Taliban were the internationally recognized government of Afghanistan before the US invasion. Your lack of a real education is showing. You should stop posting as to conserve the little dignity you can pretend to have.

  7. For the ignorant here and those with political rhetoric,

Iran is a Shiite Muslim Country and the enemy of Al Qaeda and the Taliban who are Sunnite. Iran and the Taliban do not work together other than to try to kill each other.

I see American propaganda is working well with some expats here. Why don't you try doing web searches rather than listening to CNN or the BBC.

  10. There are medical uses for the medications you mention but there are also unauthorized uses. If your use is legitimate then why buy Arimidex from a "steroid" company? If you are, for the sake of rhetoric, into bodybuilding, then again, why not buy legitimate medication? And why speak about it on a public forum? As for Cabergoline, there are legal alternatives that can be bought without a prescription here.
