  1. I have an extension of stay based on retirement valid to May 21, 2020 originating from an O-A visa 10 years ago, along with a current Multiple exit re-entry permit to the same date. I am considering obtaining a Thai elite visa and before it can be issued my Non Imm. Visa must be cancelled.

    1. Is it possible to cancel the Multiple Exit-reentry permit at the Imm. Office in Chiang Mai so that when I depart my current extension of stay will be cancelled.

    2. Is it possible to cancel the extension of stay (along with the RE permit) and apply for a 7 day extension to leave the country or have the Thai Elite sticker placed in the passport at Chaeng Wattana.

Has anyone had experience with this, as I am getting conflicting stories from Visa agents and Imm.

  2. I entered Thailand on a NON IMM O-A visa 10 years ago and have been using extensions of stay based on retirement ever since. My next extension is due 21/5/2020. Is it possible to change to an extension of stay based on marriage to a Thai in order to avoid the health insurance requirement. An agent in Chiang Mai told me that CM immigration said it was possible, I am just wondering if anyone else has any information regarding this.

  3. Yesterday I returned to Chiang Mai from a 6 day trip to Bangkok and Pattaya. and after we returned, my wife, who is the owner of my accommodation here, rang CM Immigration and asked whether she needs to submit a new TM 30. The answer was yes and she should bring a Taxi receipt or boarding passes to show that it is within 24 hours.

This morning we went to Immigration armed with the completed TM30 form, copy of her house book, ID card, my passport, my boarding pass and the original of the previous TM 30 receipt she submitted in February this year.

They kept all the documents, returned the boarding pass which I don't think the I.O. even looked at and the previous original TM30 receipt endorsed with todays' date and an initial.

The attached notice is on the desk of the I.O.

  4. They are certainly coming fast now, today at 12:42 PM I submitted registration in English for my wife (House Owner), an email of confirmation of the registration was nearly immediate, and one minute later at 12:43 PM received the registration successful email complete with USER ID and PASSWORD.

Very Impressed, I do believe Thai Immigration are making a real effort to improve things
