  1. My partner did the medical examination for the spouse visa earlier this month.

    She took with her,

-Referral letter printed out from link in document received from Embassy after they confirmed they received our application

    -4 passport photos

    -passport

    -ID card

-copies of passport and ID card

    -form 26

    -form 160

Did the check at Bangkok Hospital and all that was needed was

    -passport sighted

    -ID card sighted

    -referral letter

No need for photos. Cost was 3800 baht. Took about 3 hours.

  2. I can confirm the Police do have an 'express' service for the police check. 1500 baht, no need for the 'proof of being single' letter from the Ampour, and police check will be mailed out to Embassy/VFS/You in about 5 business days, sent EMS.

Just take the request letter that VFS/embassy give you plus passport/ID card/house book.

This is as of lat December 2014.

  3. Hi all, we will be applying for a partner visa in the coming weeks.

Regarding the house book, I have a copy of it and the certified translation, however I am wondering if VFS will want to sight the original when we submit the application?

The house book is currently back at home and if required I will have to get it posted to me, but if someone can tell me that they do not need to sight the original during the application I will save the postage fee :)

    Cheers.

  4. Hi all. My partner (Thai) and I (Aussie) and our Son travelled from BKK to Australia. My partner and our Son will be travelling back to Thailand soon (I will remain in Australia). When coming here, Thai immigration advised my partner to carry a copy of our Son's birth certificate when she returns to Thailand as our Son has my last name (not her last name). Anyone with any experience regarding this, and would a copy of the birth certificate and house book be ok? Or do they require the original of the birth certificate?

Not that it should make much difference but our Son has both Thai and Australian passports.

    Thanks in advance.

  5. Hi all, I have just done my application for 1 year extension (this is the 2nd 1 year extension), of my Non Immigrant visa based on having a Thai child. All went well, and I have to go back on the 27th September to have the 1 year extension stamped in my passport (see attached image).

I realise that I can leave the country before this date as long as I get myself a re-entry permit first. My problem is that I would like to stay outside Thailand until after the 27th September (maybe until November). The immigration officer told me that if I do not go on the 27th September, the visa is 'cancelled'. Does anyone know if there are any other solutions or ways around this? ie allowing me to come back after the 27th September and have the 1 year extension stamped in then. From my searches of this forum there are not.

  6. Hi all, we are travelling from BKK to Melbourne with Air Asia, and transit in KL airport for 2 hours between flights.

My girlfriend is travelling on a Thai passport, she has an Australian tourist visa, with the visa grant letter, but DOES NOT have the visa label in her passport.

    1. Does she need the visa label when transiting in the KL airport, I would have thought not as it is only 2 hours between flights and we don't leave the terminal, but just wanted to confirm.

    2. Do any of us need a visa for Malaysia when transiting?

    Thanks.

  7. Hi all, I've got a 1 year non immigrant visa (on basis of having child), with a multi re entry permit.

The visa is valid until August 2013, however when I entered at the airport last week the officer put a stamp that said I am able to stay until 1st December, I assume he didn't look for a visa and just stamped a 30 day visa exempt.

I take it that I have to go to Immigration BKK and sort it out?
