Hi all, looking to get a single entry non-O (based on having a child) in Vientianne.
Do they now require proof of income from the embassy or a copy of the bank book? Or are court docs showing me as the father sufficient?
Thanks.

My partner did the medical examination for the spouse visa earlier this month.
She took with her,
-Referral letter printed out from link in document received from Embassy after they confirmed they received our application
-4 passport photos
-passport
-ID card
-copies of passport and ID card
-form 26
-form 160
Did the check at Bangkok Hospital and all that was needed was
-passport sighted
-ID card sighted
-referral letter
No need for photos. Cost was 3800 baht. Took about 3 hours.

I can confirm the Police do have an 'express' service for the police check. 1500 baht, no need for the 'proof of being single' letter from the Ampour, and police check will be mailed out to Embassy/VFS/You in about 5 business days, sent EMS.
Just take the request letter that VFS/embassy give you plus passport/ID card/house book.
This is as of lat December 2014.

Hi all, I'm wondering if a 309 visa application would be accepted initially at VFS without the police check, and then hand the police check in a few weeks later. I've booked flights for the missus and kids to do the application next week and have overlooked the police check, I thought it was requested by the embassy later.
Thanks.

Thanks to you all for your replies. The copy I have is not certified, just a photocopy, along with the certified translation, so I think it might be best to take the original along.
Thanks again.

Hi all, we will be applying for a partner visa in the coming weeks.
Regarding the house book, I have a copy of it and the certified translation, however I am wondering if VFS will want to sight the original when we submit the application?
The house book is currently back at home and if required I will have to get it posted to me, but if someone can tell me that they do not need to sight the original during the application I will save the postage fee
Cheers.

Just another point, when we departed Bangkok, the lady at customs told my partner to carry the birth certificate when she returns to Thailand, she didn't advise if a copy or original would be required. Think I will give her the original just to be sure.

Thanks guys, I will give her a copy of the birth cert. and the English translation, my main concern was whether to have her carry the original birth certificate or if a copy would be ok.

Hi all. My partner (Thai) and I (Aussie) and our Son travelled from BKK to Australia. My partner and our Son will be travelling back to Thailand soon (I will remain in Australia). When coming here, Thai immigration advised my partner to carry a copy of our Son's birth certificate when she returns to Thailand as our Son has my last name (not her last name). Anyone with any experience regarding this, and would a copy of the birth certificate and house book be ok? Or do they require the original of the birth certificate?
Not that it should make much difference but our Son has both Thai and Australian passports.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks guys, yes the ticket was purchased as 1 ticket, so looks like we are all good.
Cheers.

Thank you to you all for confirming what I suspected.

Hi all, I have just done my application for 1 year extension (this is the 2nd 1 year extension), of my Non Immigrant visa based on having a Thai child. All went well, and I have to go back on the 27th September to have the 1 year extension stamped in my passport (see attached image).
I realise that I can leave the country before this date as long as I get myself a re-entry permit first. My problem is that I would like to stay outside Thailand until after the 27th September (maybe until November). The immigration officer told me that if I do not go on the 27th September, the visa is 'cancelled'. Does anyone know if there are any other solutions or ways around this? ie allowing me to come back after the 27th September and have the 1 year extension stamped in then. From my searches of this forum there are not.

Hi all, we are travelling from BKK to Melbourne with Air Asia, and transit in KL airport for 2 hours between flights.
My girlfriend is travelling on a Thai passport, she has an Australian tourist visa, with the visa grant letter, but DOES NOT have the visa label in her passport.
1. Does she need the visa label when transiting in the KL airport, I would have thought not as it is only 2 hours between flights and we don't leave the terminal, but just wanted to confirm.
2. Do any of us need a visa for Malaysia when transiting?
Thanks.

Also, is there a timeframe that I have to go to immigration to have the stamp corrected? eg: 15 days after entering .
Also can they definately correct the stamp? I assume they won't tell me I have to do the whole 1 year extension process over again.
-
Thanks for all your replies, yes it is a 1 year extension of stay so no need for visa runs, just 90 day reporting. Good suggestion by Thanyaburi also, thanks again.
Looks like I'm off to immigration.

Hi all, I've got a 1 year non immigrant visa (on basis of having child), with a multi re entry permit.
The visa is valid until August 2013, however when I entered at the airport last week the officer put a stamp that said I am able to stay until 1st December, I assume he didn't look for a visa and just stamped a 30 day visa exempt.
I take it that I have to go to Immigration BKK and sort it out?

Wannapa Khaopa from The Nation must have received a nice payment from the current government in return for writing that article! "Hey kids, can you say B.S.?"

Foreign press critisise Thai. govt for not doing thier job during investigations of foreigners deaths, or whatever other reason. Thai govt., like a bunch of spoilt 2 year old kindergarten kids say "ooh, ooh, ok don't come play here then!"

Thailand medical doctors have a good reputation. How can it be if the education is so bad? I have also heard about good dentists and I wonder about them too. Maybe some have studied abroad but I guess it is only a few. Maybe somebody can explain this mystery to me.
Where do Thai doctors have a good reputation? Certainly not in the west?

Thanks very much Mario, I take it the MFA consular department is in the MFA on Chaeng Wattana Rd? And NOT in the government complex on Chaeng Wattana Soi 7?

I need to supply a translated copy of my passport to the local ampour, the ampour said it needs to be stamped by the MFA (Ministry Of Foreign Affairs) here in BKK, does the MFA do the translation also or do I need to have a company translate it first?

They do x-rays, HIV test + other blood, urine test, eyes, teeth. Report is sent electronically to the embassy. They did not do any vaccinations nor did not check for any history of them.
