  1. O.M.G. So, So, Sad..

Poor man, imagine his last moments,

There must of been a better option than that, he could of went home to ''Finland'' and got help.., but i suppose when you are so so down, you dont think like that...

    Heart goes out to him..

    R.i.P.

    SAD....

why quotation marks when you mention the country he is from?

am i missing something obvious here or i just don't get the joke or what?

  2. first year about 90% was thai food because it was new, exciting and delicious, second year the amount of thai food dropped to somewhere around 50%.

third year i ate very little, maybe 20% thai food because i was so fed up with all the fried rice stuff and coconut milk and tom yum kung. then it stabilized to about 40/60 thai and foreign.

  3. that is just full retard.

i would be so pissed off and would definitely write a reply letter for those ladies. you know you're right.

and yes, those ladies will park in front your house again.

  4. This is the wrong place to ask my friend, the negativity regarding condo purchases and investment in Thailand, plus other stuff like buying houses, getting married, starting a business etc etc, is unbelievable on this board.

If you want a more balanced view go elsewhere.

agreed. i believe that a nice condo in a good location, in a condominium with good management is a good investment.

  5. one of the few rental shops without any problems is NP car rent on rachamankha rd.

    highly recommended.

for the crooked shops always lie where you live and never leave your passport, just money deposit.

if there is a crash or some damage to the rental motorbike they will try to rip you off.

crash-> you in a hospital-> police collect the bike and call the shop->they go and fix the bike and then they blackmail you to buy a new one or pay the price of a new bike.

even if the damage wasn't more than i.e. plastic parts and front fork.

  6. and if they aren't forced to stop, they wont. it's always hit and run.

but should be easy for the police to catch the driver, because there's surveillance cameras everywhere around that area.

it's a sad thing that they probably wont do anything.

jack van bar attracts all kinds of weird and bad customers and they do bullshit customers and there's always thieves around.

  7. little bit OT, but actually almost all of my friends who come to chiang mai as a short term tourist rent a motorbike.

chiang mai is probably one of the best places in thailand to ride a motorbike, traffic is not that bad(it's getting worse all the time..), the mountain roads and all the lakes around are great, but ridicilously expensive to go there by taxi/songthao/tuktuk.

i always tell people who come to chiang mai, short or long term, that the only option is to rent/buy your own motorbike, since there is no good enough public transport and the city is quite big anyway.

  8. night bazaar and that area is a pain in the ass even just for a visit in burger king. impossible to park your motorbike, full of tourists and overpriced souvenier crap and singha t-shirts.

    wouldn't recommend that area.

somewhere around the moat might be good for a short visit.

    personally i do prefer nimman/suhtep/huay kaew/santitham area.

  9. i'm 100% it doesn't. it's a business, not a charity.

anyway the best way to do it is to go to arcade bus station and there is this one quite big company, green coloured, always have people cueing.

they have a bus that's half vip seats and half normal. return ticket on vip seat is 600 or 650thb and the seats are very nice, big enough and comfortable. highly recommended.

  10. quote

"And don't try to give them notes plus correct change eg. price @319bht & give 500bht + 19bht coins it only confuses them "

    end quote

i always do that and they might be confused for the first couple of times and then they LEARN and understand what that is all about.

don't just adapt to things that aren't right.

edit. btw. The baht (Thai: บาท, sign: ฿; code: THB), not "bht".

  11. do everything you can. go in to the store, tell it to the manager and the staff, find out who the actual owner is and call him, maybe have a meeting with him. write an e-mail to 7-11 asia hq office somewhere, probably in bangkok and last but not least tell everybody.

if there is no complaints, there will certainly be no change in the way thing are done. these are not silly small things, it's freakin' annoying sh_t that the incompetence causes on customer service.
