    This is absolute B_S show When real help is requested all you get is the standard "oh it's a legal matter sorry can't help "

    When the police illegally take your passport and demand 200k for it's return you get told 'sorry it's a police matter'Thats the REAL help you get not the B-S stuff they show on TV

    I know it pains some of you, but tourism is doing pretty well too. Hint: if you want to crap on the Thai economy (and there are currently some good reasons to do so) then look beyond the tourism industry. It's a fairly small part of the GDP -- about 10% -- but so far it's been enough to keep the economy growing slightly.

  3. Hi Everyone

    Short story is the wife was arrested and charged with working in the wrong place as her Employer was changing locations and had not changed the address on the work permit.Finger printed,photographed and jailed paid "Bail" of 20k which went to 50k when the Consul got involved.After court was done 2k fine BUT passport was retained by police who now say passport has to go to Immigration and could be deported for a 2k fine which was not even her fault

    Advice Appreciated
