My 90 day online "window" should have opened 9 days ago. Tried every day since then, morning, afternoon and evening (Windows 7, IE) and the server could not be found or timed out. Guess that window is now closed.

I saw someone post on another site that the unit identification on some army vehicles has been obscured by sticking pieces of paper on the doors. I saw it myself yesterday when out buying lunch. A humvee went past with a piece of A4 stuck to the door over some identifying information. I haven't seen any explanation of why units might be doing that. Any ideas?

I'm a big fan of the Duke's when it's quiet, but avoid the fish 'n' chips there - the batter is way too thick and the (admittedly new) waitress asked if I'd like my fish rare, medium or well done.

Thanks to everyone who replied. I'm probably going to go with Gazza's plan: turn up at Cha-am and find a nice little guest house, and then move to Hua Hin if we get bored.

Hi, I'm a new poster on this board.

I'm a frang teacher in Thailand, and I'm taking the family (wife, step-daughter and sister-in-law) for a week by the seaside, and we're planning to stay in Cha-am and/or Hua Hin. I'd like some suggestions for a nice clean quiet bungalow operation or hotel where I can get a decent little a/c room for under about 600 baht a night.

Can anyone help?

Also: things to do and see in the 10% of my time when I'm not lazing around consuming seafood and beer.
