Just for information, i go to Bangkok Pattaya Hospital every 6 months and pay 2 separate charges as one appointment is more thorough than the other (includes drops and field tests) 1210baht and 2860baht respectively (for high pressure/glaucoma)

I did make the mistake Once of asking the Doctor if he could get me Xalatan or latanoprost cheaper (than Fascino)...."dont tell anyone else he whispered" i kept my word and didn,t as when i came to pay it was 1213baht for the same eye drops that were 780 baht......thanks for that.????

Can you tell me which doctor you saw and if you would recommend him? I suspect I have Uveitis, but uncertain.

Ideally one that speaks good English. The last eye doctor I saw there had a unreassuring bedside manner. I just turned up and saw who was avaliable.

    Thanks.

  2. Over the years in Pattaya, I have been to the International hospital, the government hospital on Soi Buakhao, and Bangkok Pattaya on Sukhumvit for various ailments.

I know some consider Bangkok Pattaya to be the "best" hospital in Pattaya.

However, the last eye doctor I saw at BKK Pattaya didn't make me feel at ease at all, and his diagnosis seemed dubious.

Can anybody recommend a good eye doctor at one of these hospitals?

    Thanks :)

  3. Also curious about buses from BKK to Pattaya and vice-versa.

With Bangkok being a red zone and Pattaya being an Orange zone.

Is there any red-tape travelling from BKK to Pattaya using the buses from Ekkamai bus station?

  4. I am looking to travel to Chengdu in China for a week in December. Is it possible to get double entry tourist visas for Thailand there?

If so what documentation would I need?

I have checked their website http://www.thaiembassy.org/chengdu/ but there is no English version.

If anybody is in the know or who has successfully obtained a tourist visa there I would appreciate any help

    Thanks in advance :)

  5. I own this bike but I don’t have the owner’s manual and I can’t find it online.

What are the correct operating pressures for both tyres as stated in the manual?

On the tyres it says 40psi for the rear and 33psi for the front but this is the maximum pressure rather than the operating tyre pressure.

If anybody who owns the Yamaha Nouvo SX (latest Nouvou model) can help…

    Thanks in advance smile.png

  6. I don't know the type of helmet you're looking for specifically but earlier today I passed by what used to be the Mityon shop on the corner of 3rd Road and Soi Lengkee (almost opposite Boxing Roo Bar and New York Pizza) and it's now called X-Speed and seems to be focused on custom bike building/parts/supplies. They had 3 very nice looking bikes outside - a Honda, a Kawasaki and a Ducati - all around 850 or 900cc with what looked like custom paint jobs. They also have what looked like a reasonable selection of helmets - https://www.facebook.com/635378919857963/photos/pcb.747554745307046/747554661973721/?type=1&theater

I don't know if these are the kind of helmets you're looking for but in any event if you're into bikes I reckon this shop is worth a visit.

OP: If you really can't find you're size here, why not buy online from the link that you posted?

Thanks, I will have a look tomorrow. The link I posted is for the manufacturer's website, they don't do direct sales from there. I was having a look for online delivery but haven't managed to find any sites as yet.

On 2 different occasions I bought from them direct as could not find the correct size - extra 200 Baht for postage but very quick.

Trying to order now. I seem to be having trouble finding the checkout on the website!

  8. The Kawasaki shop on Sukhumvit between Pattaya Klang and Pattaya Tai, heading south, has a good range of Real helmets. I bought my G-Force there and they had them in various sizes.

    They may have yours.

Thanks for the reply. I actually tried the Kawasaki shop on Sukhumvit not the Suzuki shop, my mistake. They didn't have the right size.

  9. I am trying to buy the Real Comfort helmet in a small size. Where do they have a large selection of these bike helmets?

I have tried the following places but none of them have the helmet in a small size...

    Suzuki shop Sukhumvit

    Honda shop Sukhumvit

    Mai Thai soi Buakhao

    GT Rider Pattaya Tai

Shop on corner of Khorpie/Pattaya Tai

Honda shop on corner of Arunothai/ Pattaya Klang

Mityon shop corner of 3rd road/Pattaya Tai

  10. Thanks to all those in the know who have provided useful input on here.

After swimming in there one more time and my teeth hurting again following the swim I wouldn’t advise any serious swimmers to use the pool if you value your health.

That's my honest opinion anyway, decide for yourself. It’s ok for paddling around in, but that’s about it.

  11. If the pool pH was out enough to rot your teeth, would you not notice it in your eyes and nose or sensitive skin before even leaving the pool?

Apparently not if you read the article. I wear goggles anyway so its unlikely to affect my eyes.

I have done some research on this because my teeth hurt after swimming in that pool. Its a known issue with pools that don't have their pH levels maintained on a regular basis.

I didn't join Tony's because it was cheap I joined it because it was close by and convenient.

I will be looking for a better pool for sure.

  12. As part of my routine I’ve been swimming at Tony’s pool 2 to 3 times a week for over a year now.

For the past few months my teeth have hurt when I brush them on the same day I swim. I’ve also noticed quite a bit of enamel erosion.

Doing some search I see that pH levels need to be maintained for a pool on a weekly basis. Noticing a lot disrepair in the rest of his gyms it wouldn’t surprise me if these levels aren’t maintained. See article HERE.

Anybody else have the same problem after swimming there? Thoughts?

  13. Office mate on sukumvit rd, next to Big C

    or Index on sukumvit rd.

Thanks! Had a look at the index website, their selection doesn't look too good. But I will try Office mate.

While you're there take a look at the Modernform shop next door - not sure that 10,000 will be quite enough but they sometimes have sales/offers.

    http://www.modernform.co.th/working_catalogue.php?page=111&num=1

Edit to add: There is an SB furniture store next door to Tesco Lotus on Sukhumvit road.

Thanks! I was looking at the steelcase chairs they sell on their website, I doubt 10k will be enough!

  14. in agreement with the last post, you are unlikely to find a good ergonomic office chair for peanuts as they tend to adjust dynamically to how you are sitting, and that kind of complexity doesnt come chaep.

I had a herman miller Aeron at work for almost 10 years, and i can tell you that nothing i have seen shy of 40k could replicate the experience. i bought one for the home office about 2 months after going freelance.

I had a great ergonomic chair in the UK for 4 years and it was only 9k, I really do miss it. I was looking at the Aeron but I believe you are looking at 60k to get one in Thailand.

I believe you should be able to get something good for 10k-15k. Obviously if you are paying for a big name and its imported then its going to be much pricer.

  15. I just bought a office chair at SB furniture it was 11 thousand baht , it was a floor model nothing wrong with it and I got it for 6000 baht

There is the furniture show next month I think it is in the 15.16 march Mong tong Tanny

Check out SB office furniture also

    Thanks! Where is SB furniture?

Don't really want to be travelling past Sukhumvit if possible.
