My IB Visa runs out on the 25th of this month but I'm still waiting for my work permit. On Wednesday I will go to Macau and HK for 4 days, can I just go to the immigration office tomorrow and apply for a re entry permit then? As my work permit is due to be done next week so I would like to have my IB visa when I come back as opposed to going to Vientiane again.

Any idea of what time I should head to immigration at? And is it done on the same day?

I plan on buying a house ( 2 or 3 bedrooms, not a townhouse ) somewhere in Chiang Mai area, preferably not too far away from the city, in about 3 - 4 years time . I plan on having a budget of about 1.5 miliion - 2 million. Just wondering what peoples ideas are on the price rise or decrease in the housing market in the next couple of years. Or would people think it better to buy land and build own house? And what would the cost difference be, a lot greater? All advice welcome.

i have a moped but have no license as of yet. i got stopped by the police only once before and showed my irish driving license for just qualified to drive a car and tractor. so should i need to get a bike license here? and how do i go about it?

I'm coming to Thailand on Friday and was just wondering what's the best company to use when buying a sim card. I will need the internet on my phone as I don't have a laptop so this is probably the most important thing. In Ireland i'm on top up my phone by 20 euro a month and have free unlimited internet usage and free sms to any numbers. Is there anything like this available in Thailand? And most of my time will be spent in and around Chiang Mai if that makes any difference.
