Hi
It is not the foam it is more the chemicals that are used in them most of which would be banned in the UK. Hence why I would like to buy an imported one, Mothercare sell them but I found them to be very soft.

My son is 4 months old and he also has a middle name, I had No problems with doing it.

Hi
I am hoping you will be able to help, does anyone know of a shop that sells good quality sprung baby mattresses I have tried mother care but the ones they sell are very soft i would like a firm one also I am unsure what chemicals they still use in Thailand so I am not too keen on getting a foam one from here.
Thank you

Just a quick question someone said they want to see a UK passport to show when he entered the UK, But they do not stamp you in or out of the UK so there will not be any stamp to show when he entered. Also I do not mind sending the original Birth Certificate but I do not want to send the original passport due to having had my passport lost in the post 2 times before. SO does anyone know if they will accept a photocopy of the data page.
Thank you

I am due to do my 90 day reporting on the 30th October however I will be leaving Thailand on the 5th October and returning on the 19th ( I have a re entry permit) do I still need to report at the end of October.

I have recently got a family visit visa for my wife to the UK and all of her documents and our marriage certificate where not translated into English.
Hope it helps

When I applied for Child Benefit for my daughter I was told there was no requirement to have the birth certificate translated. They needed to see the original certificate and the passport. That was it.
I also understood that the person on TLR could not receive Child Benefit or Child Tax Credits but the UK resident partner could without breaking the terms of the TLR.
can i send just a copy of the data page of his passport? do not really want to send the whole passport in case it gets lost.
Thank you
-
Thank you for your reply but I will claim child benefit myself so the visa side does not matter as I am from the UK,
Do i need to send the original Thai birth certificate with the translated one. Thanks
-
Your UK passport and 'long version' birth certificate
Her Thai passport or birth certificate
Your marriage certificate (if Thai, translated into english and the translation stamped by the ministry of foreign affairs in BK)
The childs birth certificate translated into english and the translation stamped by the ministry of foreign affairs in BK
I'm fairly certain that YOU need to submit the application in person at any UK consulate/embassy in Thailand.
Information on Passport Application for first British Passport from Thailand
The childs birth certificate translated into english and the translation stamped by the ministry of foreign affairs in BK
I have applied and received my child's first UK passport and there is no need to have the birth certificate stamped by the ministry of foreign affairs in BK you also do not need her Thai passport or birth certificate hope this is some help.

If your wife has a visa endorsed 'no recourse to public funds' then she cannot claim child benefit; but you can. This includes claiming for her children, i.e. your step-children, if they are living with you.
You can have the birth certificate translated at any translation office. The translator needs to certify that the translation is correct and include their name, address and phone number.
Thank you for the reply I had to have my child birth certificate translated to get his uk passport here in THAILAND can i use this translation in the UK to claim child benefit?
-
Depends who you want to claim for. You can claim for your own natural or adopted children if they live with you and are under 16 years of age (under 20 if still at school). British citizenship not required, only residence in the UK. However, you may need an official translation of a Thai birth certificate to claim.
thank you for the reply may be a stupid question but where would i get an official translation of the birth certificate from. Once again thanks for the reply
-
Please move to the correct forum if this is the wrong one.
if i was to move back to the Uk I would be entitled to child benefit however I only have a Thai birth certificate how would do claim this if you do not have a uk one?

does anyone know if they sell wok adapter rings in thailand?

Guidance is any applicant may spend 6 months out of 12 in the UK only on a visit visa.
How long is she spending in the UK ?
thank you for the reply, she will only be spending 2 weeks in October and 2 weeks in march.
-
my wife has a visa for the UK and we are going there in October this year, the visa will expire in January next year, I would like to go back to the UK in March for 2 weeks so would be applying for a new visa in January will the be any problems due to the fact that her current family visitors visa expires in January.

an easy way to wipe all information of your drive for ever is to use the hammer format it works every time with out fail.
1. Get a large metal heavy hammer.
2. Hit your hard drive as hard as you can for at least 30 times.
3. That is it your hammer format has been completed.
Congrats

Hello
Could someone tell me if you need to have a marriage certificate translated to apply for a UK passport. on the direct.gov.uk web site it seems to only apply for children bor before 2006 any help would be great thank you,
copied from web site:
If the child was born or adopted in the UK
IPS needs to see the child's full birth or adoption certificate showing parents' details and one of the following:
- section 4 of the application form completed with the British passport details for either parent*
- UK birth certificate for either parent*
- Home Office certificate of registration or naturalisation for either parent*
- the passport that was valid at the time of the child's birth** for either parent*
Note*: if supplying the father's details, IPS needs to see the parents' marriage certificate as well.
Note**: if the passport expired before the child's birth, you need to send the passport on which the parent entered the UK.

I was always under the impression that the IDP was basically a translation of your licence if it wasn't in English. Since the Thai licences are now in English, I didn't think that there was any reason to get an IDP anymore.
First, a minor point. English is not the only 'important' language in the world. An IDP, at least one issued here, provides information about your passport in Thai, English, Spanish, Russian, German, Chinese, Arabic, Japanese and French.
I've used the new licences in the US and Canada without any hassles at all (including renting). That is both good for you and good to know.
Then again, perhaps other countries require an IDP. It would be good to know which countries require this for reference. That is exactly the point. It's a country by country matter. In my case, I am going to Bali for a month, and my research taught me that Indonesia will allow me to drive there if I have an IDP together with my Thai driving license.
English is not the only 'important' language in the world really I think you should really look more into your comment
