CHILDREN’S EXPOSURE TO AIR POLLUTION
The proportions of children exposed to levels of fine particulate matter (PM2.5) higher than the WHO air quality guidelines are as follows:
• 93% of all children, and about 630 million children under 5 years, in the world;
• in LMICs, 98% of all children under 5 years;
• in HICs, 52% of children under 5 years;
• in the WHO African and Eastern Mediterranean regions, 100% of all children under 5 years;
• in LMICs in the South-East Asia Region, 99% of all children under 5 years;
• in LMICs in the Western Pacific Region, 98% of all children under 5 years; and
• in LMICs in the Region of the Americas, 87% of all children under 5 years
(low- and middle-income countries)

Phoom Wacharacharoenphalitphon - a resident of Ban Pong, Hang Dong, went to court to say that the National Environment Board were negligent and their staff had engaged in dereliction of duty in the matter.
He won.
