So the maintenance of NGV is 34M over 20 years, or 1,700,000 Baht every year equal to 140,000 Baht every single month just for maintenance? That seems quite a lot.

The total cost of the electric bus over 20 years is 45M (15M + 30M), compared to the NGV bus of 38.5M (4.5M + 34M), but the maintenance is cheaper so let's buy the more expensive option? Weird logic.

The main problem as we all know is that so much money gets put into peoples pockets and not spent on the right things.

I think this tax is a good idea (and it will affect me), but it makes me feel sick to think that it's my money going into the government feeding trough. I'm sure there are rich influential people who will try to stop this happening, let's see if they will succeed. Or they'll exempt themselves somehow.

The police just want money. It'll cost the Chinese guy 10,000 - 20,000 Baht to get out of this one (a nice little earner for the police). I know first hand as I was caught by police in Phuket moving a coconut (while overseeing th family business) and my work permit is in Bangkok so they nabbed me. Fortunately my sister in law knows some well positioned police in Bangkok and a quick phone call got me off the hook

There are many rich Thais that own a lot of land and they leave it untouched as they have no need to sell or cultivate.

About time they pay their taxes.

What I don't like is that they shouldn't exempt Buddhist temples.

They make enough money to afford to contribute to the country and not only take.

Jealousy. Excellent timing actually as I've just had an arguement with my wife. We got on the BTS, my wife gets a seat but I don't as the train is quite busy,so I take the next best spot leaning up against the glass partition by one of the doors at look out the window. At Siam I move into the train to take a seat when other people get off to change lines, only to find my wife no longer on the train! She stormed off in a huff believing that the reason I was standing by the door and not in front of her waiting for an available seat was because I must be interested in another woman on the train. I tried explaining that it's more comfortable leaning than standing but it didn't get through. Women!!!

A great man named Newton once proclaimed that:

She should be held responsible. So should many others. So should previous governments, irrespective of party. In fact, there must be thousands upon thousands upon thousands or people that need to be prosecuted. It's such a huge task that you have to start somewhere.

This is a great place to start. Then we can hopefully see a few more prosecutions from all sides.

I'm sure I read somewhere that the baths in Bath in England were closed long ago because a women got this. It's like 100% fatal. They should at least mention the whereabouts of where she was staying in Thailand. if it came from tap water then you would expect a few more cases would have occurred.

Surely they can group together and buy a few hundred meters of cable to feed off the nearest street lamp??

Edit: sorry that's what they've been doing for the past 25 years and now some residents have probably saved up for an air con unit but need more power...
