  1. The last time i went past soi Nana Plaza there were the regulation 60 -70 year old falung sucking on Chang beer with their pee-noi's in the front bar.

Across the street at The Golden (Palm?Buddha?Dome? I forget), anyway the bar actually on the street from The Nana Hotel, has got to be one of the best freak watching locations on the planet. Better than TV, I can sit there for hours, drink and laugh my arse off people watching there.

The rest of the old men go across the street to Strikers and watch you. You're probably featured in more than one YouTube video clip.

You mean that pretentious sports bar that shows boring footy? I can understand why they would watch me instead..........

footy has got to be one of the most boring sports to watch outside Curling, now wait, i would rather watch Curling - Footy, what a waste of time!!!

  2. Who is he? Must admit I never watch channel v, w, x, y and z

    You're Beautiful...

He was also an army officer and was involved in Kosovo a few years ago when they had a stand off with some Russians who were occupying an airfield..

He is a British folk hero having surpassed the likes of George Michael / Wham / The Pet Shop Boys as British institutions - his show is not to be missed -

  3. I live in Trendy and I must disagree with you Chris, the only problem with the Soi is the eyesore of the unfinished Regent and in the night the street bars at the top frequented by the darker coloured gender which I am sure will change once all the legal wranglings over the Regent are sorted and able to complete the project of the Hotel and residences. This will then open up Soi 13 and automatically remove the dross thats around there. Trendy is a great secure place and will only get better both in value and popularity when all this is done.

I am an owner and live on the higher floor facing Soi 11 and with great views, probably some of the best, for the area.

I would certainly recommend it to potential renters etc

In fact in two days time I will be sat on my balcony enjoying those views...so long as its not raining !

    ready to move out!

  4. "Time for a good ole' fashion hangin' boys..." said the sheriff as he tilted his hat back, wiping his face in the hot Nevada desert sun. Perched on their horses next to the only tree for miles, the posse, looking at the accused on his horse with his hands tied behind his back, were all thinking the same thing...We need to get rid of this scum once and for all.

That's the way, bring as much of America with you when you move to Thailand or is it Cambodia.

    well said shanahan!

  6. I know Thai people that have been studying or have studied English for 10 years or more and give the blank look when asked "how's it going" or "how was your day?"

My gf's brother recently graduated with a bachelor in english..

Yesterday he said 'Your birthday day after tomorrow'

I asked him is today the 6th?

    blank stare

    today 6th?

no today, tomorrow. after tomorrow. birthday

But today is the 6th right?

    10sec blank..

    Yes, and he walks away.

Seriously. Most of the time he has no clue whatsoever when i talk to him about the simplest thing, unless its 'give me the key' or 'take this'

We pay him 6000baht a month though, so he got what he deserve, hes slave labor lol

my gf's sister who speaks little to no english can correspond better than this -
