  1. a gun would certainly be of good help, but unfortunately it is illegal to possess it, let alone use it.

Not true, Thais can own guns. If it's in your wife's name it's reasonable for you to have access to it and use it for self defence if someone intrudes into your home. We have two 9mm pistols and a 12 gauge shotgun, licensed and legal.

In addition I'd rather deal with the legal ramnifications of having shot a burglar than have my wife deal with getting my body shipped back to my home country.

I agree with that but the repercussions could be you doing time. Not such a nice prospect.

am i the only one who thinks the wife had him killed?

No I think it is a viable conclusion. The first thing that had me belive that is the fact the wife was not at the Hospital with the dieing husband. I think she was too busy taking inventory and calling the family to come and live with her.

I know it sound cinical but from things I have read here and seen possible.

  2. Thai tourism sites not affected by quake in Indonesia

The prime minister said that the country's tsunami early warning system would be linked to major media networks, particularly TV and radio stations, and local telecommunication systems, namely mobile phone networks.

I didn't know Thailand set up an early warning system yet....

Or is that Thai fisherman out there with a rock and rope measuring the wave height?

    :o

  3. yes I am a newbie and I have read alot of post on this topic. I have read private dancer and I too have only been to Thailand a few times. I have traveled the world alot and met many BGs/working girls etc.

I understand the concern, but it seems this advice and concerns are given when anybody post about a relationship with any Thai girl not just BG's. Were is the line drawn for the players and sincere Girls. It's all a little confusing to me, don't many of the people posting here have Thai Girlfriends/wives and have happy relaionships. Were did they meet thier thai ladies? I have several friends whith TG's and Thai wives who are happy.

Is it only the fact this is a BG or exBG that raises alrams.

Sorry I know this may be a little off thread, but its cold and I'm missing Thailand :o

  4. I have traveled extensively though out Africa and I would not let her go. If she has had training and wishes to go abroad I would recommend she start working a hotel or other reputable SPA or Parlor to gain true experience. Many Hotels have exchange training programs with other hotels around the world.

I recently was in Brussels and met a Young Thai girl from Bangkok working as a bar tender in a Mercure Hotel. She explained she was on a 6mo exchange program from her Hotel in Bangkok. She works for 6mo being paid a standard european salary (1000 - 1700 Euro/Month + tip) thats not bad for them.

So true enriching opportunities are out there, but they aren't given to you.

If you care Keep her safe

  5. Well this topic seems to be heading several directions. To answer the original question. I travel all over the world and enjoy talking with whom ever. My first trip to Thailand was April 04 and was 2 months in BKK. I really enjoyed the town and the pace of life. I find Thai women, no matter what thier class, enjoyable to be with and talk with. I'm always looking forward to my next visit.
