  1. Lamphun- obviously you didnt read enough.... Kennedy bought Nazi stocks off of Prescott Bush. (amusing isn't it??????)

There is a strong tradition of anti-semitism from the Irish, so you are correct, this was very well possible (it has been documented before). That said, it doesn't excuse any better the crimes of Prescott Bush.

  2. Fair enough Brit but your the one making the arguement so why should I have to google.

The article on old man Kennedy doesn't say much except that he was a racist anti semite. His reputation wasn't great although he may have been libelled by the British secret service because of his support for Irish republicanism. The article didn't state anything about him owning Nazi stock. But we'll let that pass.

The stuff on Prescott Bush is common knowledge. He was in cahoots with the nazis. He only stopped when the US government shut him down.

It was a long time ago.

Amazing how the Bush family could have survived after Prescott was seized of all his assets by the US congress. He must have pulled a Thaksin. Switzerland ?

  3. "Reports that say that something hasn't happened are always interesting to me, because as we know, there are known knowns; there are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns — the ones we don't know we don't know"

    Donald Rumsfeld

It would't be so sad if that POS wouldn't take himself so seriously. What a clown. He almost make the Chimp sound more "intelligible" when he tries to speak English.

  4. The case with the hot coffie is acctually valid in it's claim, that the coffie was too hot. It held 80 degrees and has repetedly been sold to hot (at this degree) for many years. Has to do with saving money on McD part - but that temperature is not normal serving temperature for coffie and frankly - will scold you badly.

However, the totalsum she was awarded was rather high, but that is another issue, as I covered it in my previous post.

(After overturn it appears she only was awarded 1.3million. Only you ask? Yes, since it merely covered all her medical expense, practically. Apparently plastic surgery on her legs was needed to rebuild the skin and so on.)

Serving boiling water is certainly dangerous, we should have shutdown McD on that pretense and that would have done the world a favor.

  5. "all volunteer military" ... as far as "enough goes ... THAT is stupid ... have reservists and NG called up all over the world ...Which is why they don't need the draft yet. A few more steps and you would've had it! :D

But I see you guys always skip the real meat in a post and just hide behind simplistic rhetorric

Thaibebop, what you failed to understand is that US military resources are getting low and everything is being diverted to Iraq. The US military is on its last string before calling it quit or having a draft. I wouldn't be surprised if they would, maybe at the end of the presidential term, if they are serious about "fixing" Iraq. This is the only way.

Would Boon Mee and Porkie join ? I seriously doubt it :o

    Don't ask, don't tell :D

    Excellent Post lamphun :D

  6. That was then, this is now. Europe and the US is a different place now and I hope this won't happen again. But you are right, we are guilty, we admit it. When would you guys (US) admit it is another question ?

Yet a better question is, why are you asking us? Do any of the Americans here on the TV forum have the authority to make official apologies for our country?

Now that we have settled that, can we get back to Fries please? :o

Well, if the citizens fail to see what wrong they did as a nation, who else would put the pressure on their government ?

  7. Clinton, a real war hero in my book, saved Europe again from another disaster, the Kosovo

He must have been distracted for Bosnia, Croatia, Rwanda, etc...

    cv

This is because "patriotic" republicans kept accusing him of wagging the dog everytime he tried to push the UN and NATO into intervention

  8. I'm truly curious. Are frivolous lawsuits a problem in GB, Australia, New Zealand, or elsewhere in Europe?

no, we don't have the liberty like you have in civil courts. Prosecutors will throw away about anything or put you on a long waiting list for you to lose patience over your case.

  9. "all volunteer military" ... as far as "enough goes ... THAT is stupid ... have reservists and NG called up all over the world ...Which is why they don't need the draft yet. A few more steps and you would've had it! :D

  10. it has become obvious that these 2 have never served ...

Probably a bit too old for Vietnam ...

Oh yeah, they served for sure, but not the ennemy, they were servicing "GIs" at the cafeteria if you get my drift

It's obvious those 2 never went into battle. Saw the movie "JarHead" ? they probably were waiting all day in camps for the returning fighters to share their story.

  11. Yeah, that's a great one. I have always liked the jokes about our inability to use the English language. Now that's a classic! :D

Hey, when you are the big dog on the block, all the little doggies want a piece of you (because the big dog usually hordes all the action).

Some of those countries that pester the US have ocassional flashbacks to their days as colonial powers, when they used to invade sovereign nations and impose their will upon them. Now they see the US doing it and are jealous. :o

They also tend to conveniently forget that without the US help in WWII, most of their nations would still be Nazi provinces. :D

That was then, this is now. Europe and the US is a different place now and I hope this won't happen again. But you are right, we are guilty, we admit it. When would you guys (US) admit it is another question ? maybe after the empire falls ?

Clinton, a real war hero in my book, saved Europe again from another disaster, the Kosovo. Then again, America was even a different place back then. It has now turned into a giant cesspool. Not that it matters for the rest of the world, but still we worry for our American friends and how they might turn into "old Europeans".

  12. Those posting nothing but utter TRIPE wouldn't even be allowed to register in the first place and Tripe-aporn would be posting over at acidhead-dot-com with the rest of the empty-headed dreamers. :D

    :D

I would have given this post a +5 point rating...

    :D:D:D

Good thing it's in Bedlam though... :D

This thread should be renamed "The Insulting Thread"... :o

How about extra points if you are sponsor ? :D

  13. I just got back from northern Spain < 6 months ago (Santiago, El Ferrol) and there wasn't one iota of a negative vibe anywhere... :o

You wouldn't know even if you had a clue. Maybe you didn't understand when they were making fun of you or making nasty remarks :D

Do you even speak the Language ? :D

  14. Bieng someone who hasn't gotten to travel I always dreamed of traveling Europe. I wanted to see everything and enjoy who these people are and what they have given the world. I even thought I might try to track down the family my great-grandfather left behind.

    I think that's a bad idea now. :o

Skip France and you'll be fine. :D

Skip Paris (except for the Louve) and Marselle and you'll be fine.

Spain & Italy are generally friendly to Yanks and Portugal to some extent.

The UK is just too danm expensive and forget about Scandanavia! :D

Obviously you haven't been there for long. Italy and Spain would be the worst place to go these days. Very Anti-American and feels very strong about it since the UN Iraq mess.

France would actually be the best place as the French would be more than happy to tell you "we told you so", and wouldn't be more unfriendly than they usually are.

  15. You'll find that as a 'septic tank', once you leave the safe confines of the good 'ol USA, we ain't appreciated any more by anyone except the THAIS! :o

as long as you pay them, Boon Mee, they don't think less once you turn your back. Yanks in LOS have the same "bad" reputation as in the rest of the world. Thais are too polite to tell you in your face, that's all. To make you feel better, muslisms have also that same "reputation" here for the Thais.

  16. Are you sure my money wouldn't be better spent at the South Pole? :o

Well, perhaps...see the movie "March of the Penguins"? :D

    Not yet, any good.

    Excellent.

The photographers have to be give a Lot of credit to film in those conditions (& they're French too)! :D

They got an oscar, didn't they ? it supposed to be a nice little movie

  17. chances ? how would he be different ? unless he wears a tutu while he posts and show us the pics

You mean like that pic you posted of yourself over at that *other* place? :D:D:D

hehehe !!! I know it's you posting as The Gent, over there. Why not use your real moniker ? we could have long boring debates like we used over at the BearPit !!! :D

You seemed to like it there :o

  18. Nah ... that was just another case of the "eggless" ... this time eggless lawmakers not actually declaring war .... :o

Not to mention the The Tonkin Gulf Resolution was repealed BEFORE Jane went to Vietnam

Don't let facts blind poor Boon Mee

  19. Was that some kind of a threat, (surely not :o ) or are you admitting Jane Fonda was right ?

It's just a cartoon poking fun at the anti-military mindset is all.

No evil meanings or intentions...jeeeze.... :D

And very poor taste as usual. But again society is not made of the military but peace loving civilians, thank god. All society centered around the military are dysfonctional. That explains your mindset.

  20. I don't know how Kerryd would describe himself, but you can talk with him without the Porkie-style off topic personal insults, nor the "Boon-bat" wanderings of a disturbed mind.

TWAP seems more than willing to have a disagreement based on more than your supposed sexual orientation, as well.

Butterfy - could debate with JohnL, sounds like someone he could have a lively discussion with. :o

I used to debate with JohnL until I caught him in his dishonnesty and exposed him as a racist. Needless to say he got a hard on for me ever since. He is a fraud, an "educated" fraud if you can call having "writing skills" an education. He is harder to "expose" than the 2 monkeys because he plays on word significations and hope to get away with it. Without his excellence in writing skills, he wouldn't fool a 12 year old, even if he tried. His arguments are laughable to be polite, and an insult to the intelligence to be precise. JohnL, the pseudo intellectual who could write. Somehow he reminds of Thomas Merton. But TM is at least better educated.
