  1. I'm using Word Office 365 for writing letters in German or in English with the thesaurus installed for both languages.

Starting a new document I select first the language pack ( and keyboard-layout) for the wished letter-language. English letter:
    Sprache1.jpg.0ce79b9e740e1b4cf9fb18676b16c166.jpg

If you now type a mixed English/German text, the result will be:Sprache2.jpg.96d64ab7b3613e0f42e6626cffce4718.jpg

    German letter:

    Typing mixed English/German text result:

    Hope, I could help you!

Amazing how the countries with the strictest lockdowns and mandatory masks have the highest case numbers, whereas Sweden, with no masks and no mandatory lockdown, does not.

I didn't mean to blame on the Swedish approach! ( btw: I appreciate it very much! But maybe it's better working in countries with low population density...Scandinavia 16-22 people/km2, central Europe 100-400 people/km2)

  4. Obviously this study is educational for basic classes of mathematical statistics:
They use only the 1st (arithmetic mean) and 2nd (standard deviation) moment to fit a Gauß-distribution to empirical data.
    (blue line)
Maybe in the second course there will be an introduction of fitting curves even using the 3rd (skewness) moment? (red line)
Rechtsschief.svg                       IMHO would provide a better fit and a better prognosis!

Is obvious that Austria's much higher temperatures are keeping infection numbers much higher than Sweden's at the same time keeping  the CFR much lower.Confusing ain't it?

    Maybe confusing Austria and Australia?
I see almost no difference in the temps....

  6. I (try to) use the online-90-day-registration since 2016 (when it's up and working) at the Phetchaburi Immigration in ThaYang.

I always succeeded concerning the acceptance of my application; i.e. i got a barcode and a Transaction reference number(TRN) with the PENDING-status.

But: Since 2018 only 3 out of 7 applications made it to the APPROVED-status!
Asking the officer for the reason, he just answered "we didn't process the requests, but you can apply online again next time...".
Formerly I didn't care about too much since the Immi is just 25km away.

It became a problem during the Covid19-situation:
The Government advises me to stay always in a closed room because I'm over 70yrs, coughing and breathing difficulties due to COPD - the Immigration forces me to show up the crowded office!
First time in 14 years that I seeked for an agent to help me.... (I got my 90-day coupon within 2 days; 500 THB).

Why stop with fruit? Wht not rice? Eggs? A few chickens, especially those fighting cocks? Or even a buffalo?

Oh no!!! Don't you know the latest, yet unpublished research results? For the nasty Co19-virus the mentioned fruits are the same as garlic for vampires! You just throw it when on tries to approach you...????????????

Op, you should get your own PM2.5 reader, it's a necessity to have here and they cost next to nothing.

    Thanks for your hint!
I'm not too concerned about the AQI since I'm living 2 km away from the sea and my house is surrounded by about 20 big trees (which absorb PM2.5) in my garden! And no "burning" neighbors...

    Thanks anyway...

  9. I had a look today on AirVisual Cha-Am and was surprised by the reading:
"152 unhealthy for sensitive groups" and (relative) forecast and history...
    I couldn't believe...

But a look on the AirVisual-Map revealed:

There is no contributor in Cha-Am! So they took some middle of the nearest contributors - with a maximum at Toyota in Petchaburi-city!

To say: Have a look at the AVMap before posting or commenting air pollution of your place!

... and can't see why anybody would use the 800 or 400k in the bank method when monthly income is available

Your statement is valid only, if you spend 65k++ THB monthly...
Owning a house, car and everything for household/cooking etc.etc. I spend max. 30K THB monthly - eating best food (ordered from BKK and cooking by myself), up-to-date computers etc.

What should I do with the remaining 35K ? Put 380K in my Thai bank account yearly??
And pay for my regular Europe-holiday by expensively re-buying € ??

Not my way. I decided in 2013 to change €-THB only while

    • the exchange rate was better than 1€:40THB
    • my €-assets didn't drop lower than 30% of total assets

This way I exchanged € last time in Sept. 2017...and can still live 2.5 years without even touching the 800K...with an 'virtual' exchange rate of 1:42 instead actual 1:33.

My 30K monthly expenses would me cost ~910 €(1:33) using monthly income, using my accumulated THB only ~715 €...

And: The 800++K are my Health-Insurance. Last year I paid 400K for a surgery.
Using my THB 1:42 accounts instead of 1:38 € accounts saved me over 10%....
