  1. Sure it's worth a try.

Basic pastes for Kimchi is Salt, Korean Chilly powder and fermented fish source

Salt - You should use big grains of salt

Chilly poweder - Find dry chilly(Big one) and grind it to make powder or just buy it in Korean minimart

Fermented fish source - you can use thai "nam pla" a source with squid picture on the bottle

Be sure not to put too much ginger and also put enough time on salting the cabbage

ps. In my case, putting oyster can make kimchi very special and tasty

  2. yes there's a ferry waiting for you or you can wait till they finish constructing the bridge which is supposed to be finished by this year(friendship bridge4 but i don't think it will be done this year)

there are other crossing boarders other than friendship bridge 1,2,3 but I don't know your destination

If to go to Luangprabang then take friendship bridge 1 and if going to Luangnamtha or Bokeo Huayxai then cross boarder from Chiangkong

If going to Pakbeng then cross the boarder to Mueangeungon from Nan district of thailand.

  3. not sure about the launch date.. but should be out with motor show thing on 28th march or may be earlier.. price will likely to be about 390000~480000 but no one knows.. may be dealer knows..

this model is competing with brio and march so try study on them too.. and also picanto since it's price is cheaper than it used to be

  4. It's suprising but they do see where the vehicle is manufactured from. Basically the import tax is based on invoice price but their tax table mentions minimum invoice price for each country(origin of car) and the trick is that all importors pay the minimum invoice price written in the tax book not concerning about the real car price. MG cars are suprisingly cheap in Laos because they are manufactured in China. ^^

  5. Bah, too many obstacles in their way.

Too much bad blood from their last complete fail in TH where they left customers high and dry, and I'm sorry, for a mainstream car you just have to provide mainstream service - and with service centers in just 13/76 provinces, they just don't cut it.

    it's not a Fezza or a Lambo..

Leave them to the more "adventurous" buyers I say. I wouldn't touch one with someone else's money.

Absolutely right.. Do not expect their service or resell value.. It's just that I'm too bored with civic, corolla and etc..
  6. Went to Laos for a few days end of last year, believe it is the same car called the i20..... also lots of i30 and i35 there, they do look good, heard they drive much better then the Honda Civic.

I think what you saw is Elantra(export name of Avante) not i30 or i20(i20 is a smaller vehicle). Hyundai and Kia cars have the most competive price in Laos. Import tax much cheaper than Japanese cars. Korean cars just don't work in Thailand due to it's import tax..
