How does one set up an account with Bangkok Bank of New York that allows one to transfer funds to their bank in Chiang Mai? When I inquire at a Bangkok Bank in Chiang Mai I am told that it cannot be done.

1) Thai's can think but cannot reason. It's the result of the education system.
2) Thai's thought process is totally different from farang. You will never understand Thai logic.

No change. It will just slow the government from spending money and passing too many laws. Not a bad thing. The American people need little help from the government though 47% like the handouts.
Quite the opposite. After finally beginning to recover from the fiscal crises and cut the deficit by somewhere between 1/3-1/2, the US will return to the ballooning budget deficits and wasteful fiscal policies of the Republican party. And it's probably time to spend another trillion dollars on a new or expanded war or two.

Remember,it's not just 800,000 baht or 65,000 baht/month. Example: 400,000 baht and 40,000 baht/month = 880,000 baht. It can be a combination of the two.

Nothing has changed in Chiang Mai. After the traffic police stopped being visible things went back to the way they were; totally ignoring traffic signs and rules.

(I was worried about being 120+ days...the form and photocopies are easy - CM immigration is like a 6 hour chaotic free for all starting with 4AM risings to fight for a place in line to grab a number when they open the door)I've been in Chiang Mai for 3 years and on a retirement visa for 2 years. Have never spent more than 15 minutes at Chiang Mai Immigration doing 90-day report. And I always go at 1 P.M.

I have been taking Thai lessons for 3 years. I can write Thai and read Thai but I don't know what it means. LOL
But it's a great way to spend 2 hours each morning with a beautiful female Thai tutor!
