I agree with firefly, it is the same as most western countries who allow weak sentences. The only difference is USA where if you are black they give you 10 years. Thailand sentence is same as other places except fine is smaller but that OK compared to wages.

What sort of sentence do you get for this sort of escapade. What is the charge, attempted robbery or just plain stupidity.

I see nothing wrong with Thais owning Thailand. It is similar in some areas of Australia like companies. We should have kept closer to Thailand instead of allowing Moozies in to but up the country like they are doing now.

I think taxi's in Bangkok have improved drastically in last 5 years. Also taxi drivers are far superior to what they were 5 years ago. I travel in taxis 5 to 10 times a day when in Thailand so maybe 400 taxis a year. Maybe 5% are now really bad. Before maybe 95% bad.

The reason for the credit is these tour operators will not pay until the hotels etc send back vouchers. This way the tour operator can make extra profit if people cancel.
