Have you checked out Planet Football, as well as soccer they also do a basketball program.

I too take my kids to BPH and now ask them to waive the weight , height and blood pressure test, (most times, we get it done occasionally now) which you are in your rights to do.
They are fine with this.

Hi all, need a fun, friendly spot to watch not only, "the race that stops the nation", but all the other races running that day.
Somewhere family friendly would be a bonus too . Cheers.

Check out the Pattaya little Monkeys group on Facebook, they have listings of playgroups in the area.

Not sure if this is possible but Regent's, St Andrews, and ISE have loads of after school activites for their students, it might be worth checking if he is able to sign up for those
despite not being a full-time student there. Good luck

Hi all,
Well it's time to get back into a good exercise routine. Just wanted to know if anyone has had or has experience with any of the Hotel's fitness club memberships?
I'm thinking places like Centara Grand Mirage or Royal Cliff FITZ Club. I want somewhere NICE to go , Air-con, a selection of classes and equipment.

Just got a good haircut and blowwave at Cut and Curl in Central Festival. No problem with English or my thick, curly Farang hair.

I've read most of the posts and all the charges varies at the quarantine office.
Is there a specific price we have to pay? I've already emailed my documents for an import certificate.
Will be flying into BKK via Thai Airways, and my cat will be on board with me as well - 3 months old.
Any updated advice for the above?
Thank you!
We arrived in Thailand on a Qatar flight from Belgium with our cat on the same flight in December '11. All we needed to present at the Bkk airport quarantine office was her health certificate and we paid 200 Bhat. Was quite a simple, painless procedure. Hope your experience is the same.

Hi everyone,
Just a quick question...what's a fair rate for casual babysitting ( no housework ) per hour?
Thanks.

Thanks so much everyone (knew I could count on you guys!) I'll be able to present them with plenty of options :-)

Hi everyone, we've been living here for a month now and so far so good but we have'nt done much except organise the house stuff and getting the kids settled into school.
Friends (with small kids) arrive at the end of month for 3 days, so to make it look like we've already got a handle on what to do here I'd love to hear some kid friendly (and some not so)
things to do and places to take them. Also, some great local (esp by the lake) places to eat.
Thanks in advance for helping us wow our mates with our incredible insider knowledge.

Sorry to hijack the thread but does anyone know if True have a recordable box option? So we could at least tape the shows we wanted and watch at our own times.
Thanks.

Thanks to both of you. I'll check these out tomorrow . Nothing like Christmas shopping on the day before!

Hi everyone,
I know this is leaving it to the last minute but I'd love some ideas of where to get a good quality kids bike?
Thanks do much .

Excellent, thanks Rimmer.

Thanks McGarty .
I'm still a little concerned, it is difficult to get reliable reports on which areas are affected. Am still a little unsure if I need to postpone my trip or not. I just need to be reassured that getting from the aiport to Pattaya is still safe and
do-able.

Hi all,
I'm arriving for a look see next week to check out schools and houses and am a little concerened about the reports of flooding.
Is travelleing down to Pattaya from the airport going to be an issue...the reports are saying the floods are hitting Bangkok?
Cheers,

Hello wgv,
I understand this is an old post but I just wondered if you could do an update on how your kids setteled in and which school you ended up choosing?
We are in a similiar situation , soon to be moving from an International school in Belgium with our 7 and 12 year old. I'm also interested in the housing at Horseshoe Point and the Grand Regent next to the Regents school, if anyone
has some input about those I would love to hear it.
I have read some reports about these areas being too isolated but with a young family we don't feel the need to be in the thick of things every night. I just need to know I can do the school run, supermarket trips without too much bother.
Any info at all will be most appreciated.
Cheers,
emugirl.

Thanks for all the info so far everyone....it seems we are going to have plenty of choice. I have found a few places to look at online. Can anyone tell me if Horseshoe Point and the Regents Estate
are as good in real life as they look on the web?
Cheers,

wow, thanks for mentioning about the different estates.... the Hemaraj Rayong Industrial Land will be the one he will be working at. That's why I was getting differnt distances every time I tried to google map something!
Is your 7 year old a daughter named Sydney by any chance?PattayaParent...you might have guessed we are Aussies but we would never call our daughter Sydney (we are Melbourne folk!!) and the 7 yo is our cheeky boy. Any more feedback on the different schools is most welcome.
We have had two international moves before this one and we now know enough to know that a great school community is key to our happiness (both mum and kids!).
Thanks for the advice everyone...we are getting very excited but still lots to research. Thanks for the clear map too C5vette that was a great idea to post.
-
Thanks so much bluesmith, I'm going to have a look at Ban Chang. Our idea is to stay clear of the Pattaya scene also.
Would you say Garden School and St Andrews were on a par with each other?
Thanks again.

Hi everyone,
I am after some feedback and advice please.... my husband has taken a job which will have him working out at Hemaraj Eastern Industrial Estate starting Dec.
As a family of 4 (two kids aged 7 &12) we are now on the search for a good quality international school and somewhere to live that is reasonbly close to the
school we eventually choose. Husband is happy to commute to keep a happy household!
We will have the oppurtunity for a look-see in October but our time will be limited and we will want to make the most of it.
So I guess my question is ...if you were looking at St Andrews, ISE, Regents International Schools which ones have the best housing and amenities close to them
and a family-friendly community feel?
Thanks in advance for any advice you can give...I'm sure I'll have many more questions in the coming months.
Cheers.
