Thinking of getting a bike again, haven't had one for a long time. Although at one time I did do a 10,000 mile ride on a bike as it seemed like a good idea at the time . I don't need anything fancy, as it would just be for occasional day rides on on country roads and dirt tracks, I wont by flying down hills at breakneck speeds or spending days on it at a time. 20 years ago I had a Marin which was a great bike, but it got stolen ( lived in Manchester at the time - so not really surprising ) and just saw Bikezone has a Marin Bolinas Trail with disc brakes for 16,500 Baht, non disk version is 1,000 less. Gets pretty good reviews and should be bomb proof. Seems the ideal bike for me.
Just wanted to ask if anyone here is riding one or has any other options to consider for a similar price?
I will need helmet, led lights, mudguards, stand, cage, bar ends etc So I want to keep the total budget around 20 - 22K Baht max.

Time to fess up - any TV members ( or more likely rather friends of TV members ) used the chat services advertised on TV and got the girls naked?

I think we're all pretty much in agreement here. History of every other country in the world should be taught in every school throughout the world.
That may not leave time for important subjects but who cares as one day litle Somchai / Akiro / Bob / Mohammed etc will be able to argue the tos over the finer points of the Boer War, Nangking massacre and Cuban missile crisis with friends from every nation on earth.

Mods, can we change the title of this, total sensationalisation and misinformation.
It should read "Swedish Governement change requirements for oldies'
Nah, leave it, gets more hits.

This is based on one post from someone's Twitter page, and it is news? Should it not be a little more substantiated than this to be put on the Bangkok Post web site?
Apperently the hospital confirms there have been several attacks.
According to the same persons tweet. Nothing from the hospital itself though.
Reporting tweets as news is going to get Thaivisa into trouble sooner or later. Someone will set up a twitter account, tweet some cr@p and it will make it onto this site without any verification whatsoever.

Brits should member that anyone bribing a public official anywhere in the world is liable for upto 10 years in jail in the UK. If I go back then I will be facing life.

As mentioned already, these were funny at first. And some still are. But this one isnt. It's just a drawn out ad for a website.
A far better one with Hitler's views on the outcome of the July's Thai general election

And just for fun - put the URL: http://www.mfa.go.th/web/2482.php?id=2489 into Google and see what the first result is Seems like MFA have a side business.

Tough choice for newbies. Who to believe, deliberate TV scaremongering or what happens in real life?

Is he wearing body armour in the photo, if so why? Who are all the geeks taking photos? Do not appear to be media.
Murder suspects usually wear a bullet proof vest when they are made to re-enact a crime. For their own safety. The 'geeks' taking pics are ex SAS, NavySeals & Mossad who are documenting the procedures for bar stool discussions later.

Nice photos and great info. There isnt a lot mentioned about this area but it looks a nice place to stop off on the way to Ko Chang.
-
Bear in mind there are no boat services to the other islands from Koh Chang in the rainy season. but can still go from the mainland.

Why would Phuket Immigration officials be interested in checking the documents someone used to apply for a visa prior to travelling? There must be an art to writing nonsense articles like this. What someone in Immigration in Thaiand or Phuket airports have to say on the matter is irrelevant to the actual story.

"Stricter requirements for Tourist visa applicants"
ONLY for applicants in Phnom Penh Embassy. Regular tourists wont be affected at all. Wait and see.

Good to see this thread had the desired effect . . . i.e. panicking the dumbed down masses.
The link - http://www.mfa.go.th/web/2501.php?&id=2815 refers only to the applications at the Thai Embassy in Phnom Penh. SOmething that must have accidentally been missed out in the original 'news' report.
The MFA is just making it harder for people to get long visas from neighbouring countries. Same as they did for Non Imm visas a few years ago. Anyone with some common sense knows that the rules wont be enforced in a western country, and even if they were, they come with a handy, face saving get out - the applicant can submit a letter to say why they cant provide the correct docs.
Next thing you know anyone with an overstay of 24 hours or more will be thrown in jail at Suvarnabhumi. Remember that piece of 'news' reported here a few months back?

Nice advertorial ;-) Do 'C' list celebrities often invite journalists into the place where they are getting rehab for an interview?
If she wants space and peace in a drug free environment then a camping holiday in the Scottish Highlands would do the job for far less money.

Babylon Sauna, as people seem to be interested. ( From a Thai friend who was there at the time. ) Lot of gossip about what was going on there - but not for repetition here.
Anyone Got A Marin Bolinas Trail?

A couple of PMs and a quick phone call later and it looks like I've got a very good deal on once ridden, 2 month old Giant Seek which will do the job.
