  1. If you try to board the plane without a visa or tickets for onward travel within 30 days the airline can refuse to to let you fly.

You intend to stay longer than 30 days so therefore you should get a tourist visa from a Thai Consulate before leaving, if you get a double entry Toruist Visa each entry is valid for 60 days, and each entry can be extended by a further 30 days at immigration, therefore you have around 6 months sorted until you know exactly what you are doing and where you are going to do it.

    Good luck !

do u know about how long it would take to get the double entry Tourist Visa?

I was reviewing an applications and it said this for the tourist visa.

ATTENTION FOR TOURISTS AND TRANSIT VISA APPLICANTS ONLY : You declare that the purpose of your visit to Thailand is for pleasure only and that in no

case shall you engage yourself in any profession or occupation while in the country

  2. I'm looking to take a TEFL course in Thailand and then teach english in Thailand. I wasn't sure about the best way to go about a Visa. Should i enter with the free 30 day (i'm from USA), or get a 60 day before hand, and than apply for a non-imm Visa?

I want to stay for at least a year. I would expect once i get a teaching job, i than can get a work permit.

What's the best way to go about this?
