US taxes on worldwide income (i.e. including foreign)... regardless of being a US resident or not, he must file annually and he must report all include and it is taxable.  Most banks now require US citizens to give them their SSN and report that back to the US (FATCA).  Thailand is one of the countries that has an agreement with the US.  (most countries you don't get taxed if you are a non-resident citizen)

America is a nightmare country in all respects. Thank god Im not american

A colorectal surgeon. Where in Thailand are you located?

    Hi Sheryl,

I also have a bad case of H over 1 week now.  I started taking daflon 500mg. 2x 3 times a day for 3 days and now 1 x 3 times a day. On day 3 there was improvement and now day 5 I notice blood in the toilet water after having a poo. Should I be concerned about this? What type of dr can one see at a private hospital? Dont know if theres any point as they will just say its H. I suppose they might say cut it out?

  3. Was talking about Wills in the bar the other night. My buddy mentioned he used Isan lawyers. An Englishman is the owner of the business he said. Ive never used them but he said they were really good. Can all be done with a phone call and emails apparently.

usufruct is much like a lease, except it can't be cancelled, and the land (chanote which it is place on) can't be sold without the usefrunct first being removed / voided.

May I ask what about registered lease on a chanote where several years of taxes are paid and we have evidence of this.

Can it be cancelled by the owner. We pay the rent on time and do everything correct as per the contract.

Ive read its only where conditions in the contract are not met that the owner can go to court and get the lease cancelled. Is this correct? If this happens surely we would have to be involved in that court process or be notified of this?

    thanks

Wow, he was not kidding.  If Chris Smith was actually slapped or punched if could be an Assault and Battery under California Penal Code Sections 240 and 242.  In the end he won Best Actor.

and what would this conviction be if it went to trial? Would he have to do time or money compensation?

    thanks

You renew your annual insurance this coming December for another year and it will be valid for when your road tax (what you call registration sticker) is due for renewal next March.

They will need see the registration book, the mandatory por ror bor insurance (the cheap one) as they need to scan the bar code or tear off the bottom portion as proof of being insured. They will accept a copy. If that's not provided or bundled with your primary first class insurance (the expensive one), you can buy that at whatever insurance company has a shop at the road tax office. No need for personal ID or proof of address. Just the book, insurance proof and the money. Your car isn't old enough to require inspection (7 years).

The insurance agent extended the cheaper one por ror bar by another 3 months and I have evidence of that. The main expensive insurance is still 3 months behind and up for renewal at the end of this year. will they care about this? Will they still give me the rego sticker for 12 months march to march next year?

  7. I bought a new car in december and obviously paid for 12 months expiring this coming december.

My registration sticker is up for renewal at the end of March.

Will they cause an issue and force me to buy another 3 months insurance to March next year.

I cant remember exactly but think I had this issue a few yrs ago.

Finally, please help me confirm that the following photocopies

    - blue book

    - insurance receipt of payment

    - just the photo page of my passport?

    - yellow book?

    Is that all they need.

    thanks

As far as I know you can extend your work permit up 2 weeks early. Some offices may do it earlier.

Thanks for the info. Is the list of doc's required for extending the WP for a year exactly the same as when I applied 1 yr ago? Or do they have a smaller list of docs required?

It seems a complete waste of time to present ALL of the same documents again to them.

  9. My ext' of stay based on marriage and my WP is due for renewal on the same date soon- on a weekend.

Actually we wanted to go away on holidays during that same week.

I wanted to know if both labor dept and Immigration would allow me to provide all docs a few weeks prior? Would this be allowed or will they only say come on the Friday before the actual date on the said weekend?

    thanks

  10. My ext' of stay based on marriage and my WP is due for renewal on the same date soon.

My passport has a stain on the photo page and I read that some countries could reject me at the airport due to this. Should I rush and get the passport changed now before doing the above OR just do it later after my ext' of stay and WP is approved?  I think it doesnt matter?? Maybe a bit of hassle if Im lazy and do it later this year?

Can I safely assume that the labor dept' will not know or care after my new WP is extended another year soon? Is it only immigration who will transfer the stamps over for another fee?

    thanks for opinions

  11. I have concerns now about eating non organic chicken after we heard from a friends parents that their child, aged 8, started growing breasts. The Dr in Bangkok, after finding out about the child;s eating habits, said it was probably hormones from all the chicken she was eating. Her parents said that they feed their daughter chicken nearly everyday. I checked on the internet and apparently there are cases around the world where kids develop this problem due to eating too much junk food and poor diet.

Does anyone know if Thai poultry production farmers add hormones to the chickens feed lot to fatten them up??

Can I assume that consuming the beef imported from Western countries would be safe in regards to this issue?

    What about pork?

I think I will cease buying chicken from Macro and order the expensive 'organic' options online. I feed my child a really good all round diet but still concerned about that story.

    cheers

  12. I have not been following the recent rules on flying back into thailand and the covid requirements. What are the current rules when flying into bkk. Do we have to do quarantine in a hotel on our return to Thailand? I assume a PCR test a day before flying here is still required. Is that it? Whats the website in order to apply to get entry back here?

thanks for any up to date info

  13. Our neighbour, whom I thought was quiet wealthy and therefore educated, purchased a new (large breed) dog 3 months ago and hasn't toilet trained it. They now put a baby pamper on it and keep it inside all day. Its actually shaking all the time when I see it.

When I first saw it I was obviously thinking how stupid and <deleted>. I asked them why they dont walk it several times a day in their grass area and they said its their daughters dog and she gets up really late.....

A week later I saw it again and the daughter told me the dog doesnt like to go on the grass!

I told my dear old mother this story who is aged in her 90's. She said to me 'you cant help stupid people'.

Why are thais so clueless about dogs.....
