How about Mark Leoni around onnut? He seems to get some good feedback around many folks too

    Hi,

Thanks.  I am not in Thailand at the moment.  Wanted  his contact details for a friend who is.    Over the years I have attended numerous chiropractors and I found Dr, Parry exceptionally good.

Just one treatment and none of the    "when can we fit you in for your next appointment" I had with all the others.

Friend is going the surgery route and if I had Dr Parry's details would recommend she try him first.

    Would hesitate recommending anyone else.

    But thanks anyway.

  2. Hi,

Does anyone know what happened to Dr Philip Parry,  chiropractor. ? I can not find any update information on line.  His website and Facebook are gone.  I emailed Rajave a  while back but bo reply.

  3. Hi,

I had a three hour transit time,  arriving from Helsinki, collecting luggage and checking in for our flight to Chiang Mai.  1st June

However Thai-smile have changed flight time giving me just one hour twenty minutes to transit.  Would this be sufficient time ?

    Thanks

Thank you for the follow up. Glad to know since I was thinking of changing from DTAC to True in order to use my Pixel 3A XL in Thailand without having to remove my US SIM card

    Hi

Ta,  If I receive any update will post here.

  5. Hi,

    Received following from True

"Dear valued customer, w have checked with the concerned team and found that the Google Pixel 3A XL is not supported for a TrueMove eSim yet. Once we already add this feature we will inform customers again. Please wait for the public relations in the future and we deeply apologize for any inconvenience.

To extend our apologies, a free 1GB Data valid for 7 days has been offered @@@@. Thank you for using True."

That you have to get the bank to provide an official bank statement of any transactions, signed and stamped by the teller (as pictured in previous post) This was never a requirement before as it duplicates the information in the passbook.

    Hi,

For anyone who renews their extension after 1st March 2020 and who used the 800K method the previous year must supply the full 12 month statement in order that the IO can check that the following was adhered to :-

At least 2 months prior to filing date and at least 3 months after being granted the last visa or extension the alien had funds deposited in a bank in Thailand of no less than THB 800000. The alien did not withdraw these funds for 3 months after being granted permission and that the remaining balance never dropped below THB 40000 for remaider of year.  Bank statement suitably stamped and signed.   (Bank clerk refused to stamp/sign my internet print-out, when asked why, she said "Because we did not print it")

Technically at the moment it should only be necessary to show 800K in the bank for 2 months prior to renewal date

  7. Hi,

Too late I discovered that after three failed scan attempts " customer is required to contact True shop for registration"   So no service from either the physical or esim.

Returned to shop, made one final attempt but no joy.

So can assume that the eSim did send my number to True but it was rejected for whatever reason.

Will send another query to True.

No,  but I did learn that your Pixel 3A must be upgraded to Android 10, and other than providing you with the QR code did True tell you it would work ?

Most of the forums indicate that the carrier must support the Pixel 3A before it will show up as an optional network

    Hi,

Yes on Android 10.  Shop only knew how to set up  iPhones,   Queried on the True internet help line, gave them make model and was told to go nearest True shop.

Think it might be possible to include a copy of this new "Statement letter" So one can show the bank as sample. Thanks.

    Hi,

OK, returned to Immigration, this time armed with a "Bank Statement".

I obtained the statement from the bank this morning.  Also had them update the passbook

(The attached statement was one I obtained on Friday 17th.  No time to scan the new).

    Submitted:-

The Bank letter  (obtained and dated the 17th Jan)

The bank Statement (6 months period)

Scanned pages of the freshly updated bank book  (This has to be updated by the bank, can not be updated in the ATM)

Photocopies of all passport pages, TM6, and 90 day notice.

    And of course the TM7

As I now have the fixed account on the internet I also submitted a print-out dated 20 July 2019 to 20/1/2020, same as attached

The IO very quickly went through the bank letter/statement, he highlighted every 810,200 in yellow.  Same with passbook.  He only gave a cursory glance to internet print-out.  (Asked the bank clerk to stamp but she refused)    He  cleared the submitted paperwork in less than five minutes.

Signed a few forms. had photo taken, then had long wait for the return of my passport

The statement isn't something special. It's a normal printout for a chosen period of time. Stamped and signed by the bank. It should cost 200 baht tops.

    Hi,

The 200 baht is no big deal, but to ensure the new regulations are followed this period must be for twelve months  and Bangkok Bank for some strange reason takes seven days to produce a twelve month statement.

But these new regulations should only apply for those who are renewing their extension on or after the 1st March 2020.

If they applied and received their renewal before 1st march 2019 the old three month rule then applied.  There was no onus on them to maintain a balance in the account after they received the extension.

Immigration appear to be retrospectively and universally applying the new rule.

And last time I renewed, January 2019,  I used the Income/Embassy letter method, so to comply with the new rules I should only need to provide proof that I had 800,000 on deposit for the previous 2 months.  If I decide to renew again in 2021 then and only then should it be necessary to provide a 12 month statement showing I maintained the necessary balance for the period January 2020 to January 2021.

  11. Hi,

Have now got this Fixed account on the internet.   So can now request/print off account details for the past six months

BUT it does not show any additional information  that was not covered by the print out of the passbook.

Have sent a message to Bangkok Bank seeking guidance/help.  Awaiting their reply

  12. Hi,

OK, arrived at Chiang Mai immigration for my retirement extension today.  TM7 neatly typed, every page of my passport  photo-copied in colour, scans of TM6 and last 90 day notice, letter from my bank with today's date  (Bangkok Bank)  stating that I had Baht 810,200 in an account with them  and finally had a print-out of this fixed Account Passbook showing that on the 02/11/2018 I had 800,000 on deposit, entry on 02/11/2019  showed the interest  added and the tax deducted leaving a balance of 810,200 and final entry for today showing same amount.

Did not get past the "numbers" desk.  Was informed I needed a "statement" from my bank.  Pointed  out the print-out of the entries in the passbook combined with the letter should be sufficient proof,  but all arguments no avail.

Returned to the bank branch and did not have much luck there either.  Asked for a statement on the account.  I was charged 100 Baht,  but the statement  they presented only showed the account details from 02/11/2018 to 02/11/2019.  Pointed out this was unacceptable and needed an up to date statement. For this 12 month statement I was charged 200 baht and only then advised that this would take a week but as tomorrow was Saturday it more than likely would be Monday week before they received the statement from HQ.

My renewal date is Friday so this would be no use whatsoever.

    Any advice greatly appreciated.

Norwegians can ask for it at the embassy, cost 1100 baht (standard price for consular business).

They normally do it while you wait.

    dunno about the other countries

    Hi,

and Ireland.  Posted passport and required documents to Irish embassy Bangkok (from Chiang Mai), received back all documents,  passport and letter following Thursday.  Cost 1700 Baht.

Queried via email if continuing this service, and informed

The Embassy of Ireland will continue to issue the pension income letter until further notice.

What dates are given on the second line of the visa sticker?

There should be the from and until date, the until date being the last date that the visa can be utilised.

If this is later than 12th February, then you should be OK.

    Hi,

But I have not seen the Visa.

Made a big mistake when submitting the paperwork for the Visa in Irish Embassy Bangkok.  I gave the wife's passport number as ID on the airline ticket (Vietjet).  This meant could not leave the passport with the Embassy as she would need it when checking-in for the flight back to Chiang Mai.

Embassy said that I could not post it back, they would not accept/process it.  Would have to be handed in in person

That was four weeks ago.  Yesterday wife gets a call from the embassy,  visa has been granted and  that she had to come in immediately and also that the three months would start the day the visa was stamped in her passport.  ????????

On my application form I gave a printout of  booked flight on 12th Feb  (Cost me 200 Baht)  But I also had to submit a travel insurance policy which also commenced on the 12 Feb. which was genuine and cost a lot more than 200 Baht.

After the hoops the Irish Embassy had me jump through,  to me it is not inconceivable that the wife picked the instructions up correctly.

But it does not make sense.  she must have picked it up wrong.  surely there is a window for travelling and the visa is for 90 days in Ireland  ?

Sent them an email last night seeking clarification, got a reply which ignored my questions

No, it's valid for travel to Ireland from the date on the visa vignette, she will need to leave before the expiry date and for no longer than 90 days unless approval has been granted by the Irish Immigration Service.

    Thanks.

How long a period is given to travel.  I gave then the travel date (12 Feb ) so assume will be valid 'till then at least.

No it's valid for 1 year from the date the visa is issued (22/7/2015). You can make as many entries as you want on of before the 'enter before' date (21/7/2016). The IO was correct in giving you 30 days.

Your 30 day visa exempt entry can be extended by 30 days at immigration for 1,900 baht, if needed. And if you want a long term option, you could convert the visa exempt entry to a non immigrant visa/entry, which would allow you to apply for a 1 year extension of stay based on retirement (over 50).

    Hi,

Ta, will go with 2nd option

  17. Hi,

I  was issued  a Multi entry Non O visa dated 22July 2015  and it was marked "enter before 21st July 2016".

(Ireland, well past pension age and gave proof of earnings)

I entered Thailand on 10 Feb 2016, did a Mae Sai border crossing on 22 April and left Thailand on 14th June 2016.

Today (5th Sept) arrived   BKK   but was informed visa was invalid.    Subsequently was only granted a 30 day stay.   Original immigration clerk called in a supervisor, he had total tunnel vision just kept pointing at the date "21st July 2016 and saying " Before, before"  On my part pointed out the entry  for 10 Feb but this was ignored.

I was under the impression that the 12 months started from the first entry into Thailand  ???    No, Yes ?
