The sky finally came out and I was able to get some decent footage in the air over Nai Harn slope flying with a paraglider.
Airplane used is my custom built wing UAV with APM/Arduplane, FPV/OSD, telemetry, etc. Camera is an ION Air Pro. Flown manually off the slope, of course (keep hitting the hill in FPV!)
Enjoy

BTW, how do you post youtube videos on ThaiVisa? Posting the link shows up like above.

Thai Orient = One Two Go Airlines. Same Company, same owner. Their answer to solving the safety issue after the 1,2, go plane crashed in Phuket was to repaint all the same planes in Thai Orient colours and re-name the airline. Prior to this I think they used Thai Orient for the International 747 flights and One, Two Go for the domestic. The plane that crashed in Phuket was the later version of the DC-9 (MD-80 I think), it was 21 or 22 years old and been through a number of owners before One Two Go. They also have an old 747 parked at Phitsanulok airport with no engines. A handy source of spares without going through all that stupid parts certification process. They have one 747-200B aircraft that must be +30 years old.
I love how Thaivisa has turned into a flame fest between people who have no idea what they are talking about.
To clarify:
1. The 747-200 is NOT ORIENT THAI's. It was a leased plane returned to the owner in 2008 and they never took delivery of it. It was abandoned by the owner, not the airline. FWIW, that particular airplane is the highest time 747 in existence and was, at the end of the lease, in the best condition of any -200. No one in Thailand has any authority over this aircraft, so it sits.
2. The MD-82/83/84s were retired years ago and have been slowly either cut up or disposed of. All are slated for disposal.
3. The 747 in Phitsanulok was retired years ago and is only there because DMK charges ridiculous amounts for ramp parking. If I remember correctly it was sent there to be a restaurant, was stripped and scheduled for dismantling and the deal fell apart. (Note that the L-1011s at DMK are still there because their value is less than the amount owed to AOT and they continue to demand full payment. Many of the OX aircraft are in the same situation, Blame AOT)
4. OX has been converting their fleet to late model 737s and 747-400s (the latest model)
Get your facts straight instead of make disparaging remarks off the cuff. Nuf said.
Oh, and I don't work for OX, never have. But I have done business with the owner.

The times Thai Airways was a competetive airline are long gone, bad service, überhöhte exorbitant prices and arrogant personal. Just a small prove that it won't take time another 10 month, this can be done in a D-Check! As usual the guilty party are not to be found here!
http://www.flightglobal.com/news/articles/easa-details-wing-rib-fix-timelines-for-a380-fleet-384660/
D-Check... you really don't know what you are talking about, do you... for one, these are aircraft that have not been delivered yet. the delay is from production, not operational aircraft.
And for the record, none of the Thai A380s would be due for C checks for at least 3 years! D checks would be twice that or more out. And, a D check can take 6 months to complete.
Airbus is doing design changes to aircraft under production which is the cause of this and all 2013/2014 delivery delays.

Link for race pics from JAZCAM. Quite exciting, windy, and wet regatta. Good stuff.

My bet's are on China invading N. Korea to put a stop to this mess and to prevent a potential nuclear exchange on their doorstep.

I think we should start our own forum taxi service.
Easy to do:
1. A list of members with cars, SUVs or pickups.
2. The members' location and availability.
3. No real names or registration numbers published.
4. TV would start a forum for requests, offers, recommendations, thanks, etc.
5. We can decide on our own price list from the various locations (e.g. at about 1/2 the Mafia fare)
6. Free sticker for the windscreen, such as: taxi4.JPG (Optional)
This could be our own, completely anonymous, "Farang taxi club".
Waddya think?
We are working on a website to do just that, but mostly focused on Visa runs which are rather out of control right now. Adding your idea would not be difficult. If there is enough interest we can consider it.

UPDATE
Plane crash investigated
The Nation
PATHUM THANI: -- Officials from the Civil Aviation Department and Scientific Crime Detection Centre 1 yesterday inspected the wreckage of a two-seater Diamond DA-42 Twin Star, which crashed in a rice paddy in Pathum Thani’s Sam Khok district on Monday.
Asian Aerospace Services Ltd moved the smashed plane out of the field to a hangar at Don Mueang Airport. The firm will send the aircraft's flight-data recorder to a company in Germany for analysis.
The two Britons aboard the Bt30-million plane were identified as David Walls, 71, and Nicholas Turner, 54. They were still hospitalised and unable to give any information. Authorities said Walls is a millionaire in the UK and was piloting the plane when it crashed.

What a waste. This plane looked repairable until they cut the wings off... The DA42 is an amazingly tough aircraft and this probably could have been repaired if there wasn't any severe carbon delamination. Typical botched recovery in Thailand.

Anyone know if this is the same person and DA-42 that nearly over-ran at Pattaya Airpark a couple years ago. I seem to remember that plan blew both tires and had some rather severe gear damage from the attempt (FYI, Pattaya Airpark is WAY too short for a DA-42 to operate safely from)

Book is dated 10 May, 2011. Warranty is up to date in the maintenance book. I think it's two years but may be more.

What else do you want to know. It's a Versys like any other except the windscreen change. I bought the bike for touring but my plans have changed so I no longer need it. The bike has been stored in Pattaya for 5 months then trucked to Phuket for a while then back to Pattaya. I recently rode it back to Phuket from Pattaya.
First 250k takes. Or make me an offer.
Also, I can get GIVI kits for this bike at 50% discount over Thai prices if interested. I never kitted it out but had planned to.
jz
Ok, here is the deal...
Many people have replied to the various adds I've post for this bike. Some are bargain shopping. Some are curious. None are where I need to be on the numbers. So, this is what I am going to do. The best offer I recieve for this bike by Friday, 23 Sep. takes the bike. please email me or call. The bike is moving back to Phuket tomorrow or Monday so if you are in Bangkok or Pattaya get to me soon with a reasonable offer.
JZ
Why do you not just give us a number? Why not posting more pictures and more info about the bike if you want serious offers?
when was it first taxed ? do kawasaki only give a 2 year warranty ?

I am 5' 11" or 180cm I think. The versys is a bit taller than an ER-6N. I am now sure how much. Riding position is much more upright on the Versys and it has a touring seat. It is great for long rides. I rode from Bangkok to Phuket in 10 hours with only knee problems but I have bad knees.
jz
Can i ask you how tall are you? Im 1,68 m,I was sitting on er6n it was perfect. Here dont have kawasaki dealership so i dont have opportunity to do same.Im Interested in buying second-hand Versys more than buying er6n as its more comfortable for long rides/

Everything to get started is included, and it flies indoors. We use these as a beginner racing class indoors. There is a shop in Singapore that sells them local to you. Search for mini whoop.
