I have an SCB account here and have put Canadian Government checks in and after 15 days up to 30 days if it clears then Bob's your uncle.

Thanks - thats encouraging. I guess as the Wachovia account is in my name and the Thai account is in my name, it should make things a little easier....

I would first ask wachovia if they can increase your max daily withdrawal. Then i would try and find an AEON bank ATM where you can withdraw money without paying the 150 baht fee. Wachovia lets me withdraw 20,000 baht a day no problem. I have an account with them and a second bank where I can also withdraw 20,000 a day. If you need more than 40,000 baht a day then congratulations as you seem to be doing very very well.

Don't know about depositing USA checks in Thai bank but i suspect that would be a hassle at best and also have some fees attached.

Thanks for the reply. I called and asked for a daily limit increase and was declined. I think its the typw of debit card I have - its the blue checking card. There is also a gold one available and i think that alows you to withdraw more. Since Wells Fargo have taken over the fees have gone crazy. Im tired of it. I just made an on-line payment to a supplier in Germany for $8000 and was charged almost $300 "international fee's". Looking at my on-line banking its one long records of fee's. They make me sick.

But then again, it was incredibly easy for me to open the account and I am not a US resident so I guess I should be gratefull I have it.

If you are concerned about the bank fraud dept etc, warn them its coming, tell them via email what you are going to do, where and for how much, and get their confirmation.

You can also send them a copy of your passport etc if required for ID confirmation.

Thanks for the reply. I did call and ask if it was possible and they said yes. I got the imppresion however that they did not know for sure and just assumed the correct answer. I could email them yes - I'll do that. My on line banking has a message service, so I will try that also

Hello all. I have a real problem here.... I have a US bank account with Wachovia/Wells Fargo and 90% of my customer revenue originates there. I have been using my debit card to withdraw the maximum daily limit of $500 from ATM anf then banking into my Kasikorn bank every few days but the fee's are killing me and its a hassle.I have my cheque book here although I have never used it. Would it be possible to write myself a cheque for $5 or $6000 and bank it into my Kasikorn account? I live in Hua Hin so they are ferange friendly, so to speak.My main concern is alarm bells going off with Wachovia. Some type of fraud department jumping all over it. I say this as the account is on a friends address in the USA who has since moved back to the UK. I wont be going back to the States for a while and I worry the bank will write to the address or something and ask for confirmation. I cant loose this account at the moment. Most of my customers are in the USA and they use this account to deposit funds easily.Do you think it would be ok? I dont mind waiting a few weeks for it to clear. I had a long arguement with my 15 year old daughter on Thursday as she wanted permission to go to Cha-Am to the Reggae Concert with a friend's family. I can remember back in 1964 when I was her age, the fights between the Mods and Rockers which lasted two days in Brighton, and I told her she could not go. I have been to plenty of large reggae and rock concerts before in the UK, Romania, and Thailand that have generally been peaceful, and I used to help organise Monsters of Rock at Donington. However, my gut feeling was that this concert might attract the mindless interschool gangs that on occasion carry out violent attacks on rival schools rather like our Mods vs Rockers fights in 1964. I am so glad that I forbid her to go and the news may teach her to listen to her parents.

I could sit and listen to your generation for ages who were from that era unfortunately I was born 20 years to late to of been a teenager, 20 something in the early 60's It all completely fascinates me the music the fashion everything about it. I ride a Lambretta here in Thailand and will be riding to Chiang Mai from Chonburi in December with about 20 others for the 10th anniversary Lambretta and Vespa party basically hundreds of scooters from all over Thailand will be there, can't wait! As for you being a mod back then you obliviously had style your generation were really the first youth culture of Britain, many World War 2 children and the first time you had money in your pockets, absolutely amazing thanks and good luck.

Zammo can you tell me more about this mate? I am on the verge of buying a Lammy. I have wanted one for years and im definatley going to buy one within the next month. I have been fishing around on a Thai website (dont think I can mention the name here) that is geared towards scooters and they have a classified section so thats where I will pick one up.... Unless you know of an alternative?

I will have one before December and I am DEFINATLEY going to join in for that run it will be a great crack. Can you give me more details? How many stops to CM? Surely it cant be one ride all the way there can it? Is there a website or forum you can point me to about it?
