What was I thinking asking about spas in a Ladies forum??
-
Hello ladies,
I want to offer a gift to my girlfriend and was thinking of getting her a spa package to over-indulge.
She is a Thai national, fair skin complexion, 20 years old.
I was thinking of a package where she gets a facial, a skin treatment, a body wrap/scrub, exfoliation, this sort of things.
I am completely at loss considering the millions of options available in town. Prices seem to range from the really cheap to the insanely expensive.
My consideration is the quality of the treatment but if possible I'd like to avoid the overpriced offers that aren't really worth it.
We live near the Emporium so something nearby would be a plus.
In advance thank you for your hints, really appreciated.

Thank you for the info. This is in Bangkok. I will seek the centers you mentioned.

There is a Thai girl I know who would like to complete her secondary education that she was forced to abandon at the time due to lack of funding. She is now 19.
Do you know of any schools or education institution that would help young adults complete their secondary education, maybe on a part-time basis?
Thank you for any answer.

Look at any Thai website. Try to use any. Then ask yourself if you really want to hire Thai developers. At any price.

Not sure what everybody else thinks but personally I am very very happy about the recent moves by Thai authorities to get rid of the foreign scum in this country.
Visa runs are an abuse of the immigration system. You want to stay here? Get a non-immigrant visa. You want to work? Get a work permit.
It's too hard? Go somewhere else. You don't have any other skills than your ability to speak English? Tough luck.
As for criminal scumbags, we can only welcome Thailand's decision to crack down hard on them.
I hope the ED visas are next. What a scam. You think you can bypass immigration laws by paying a corrupt cop to procure you an Education visa? Those days are coming to an end.
Thailand will do just fine without you.

I have just been scammed out of 200,000 baht from a Thai solar company. After having negotiated a deal to acquire PV panels and an inverter, the company asked for the 200K as a deposit and promised to order the equipment immediately. After a few weeks of vague promises and continued delays, I investigated and found out they never ordered the gear, but rather used my cash to fix their own financial problems.
I have put some lawyers onto the case but they told me it is very unlikely that I will recover the full amount, as the company is already deep in debt and I will probably be last in line after larger creditors such as banks.
So now I am looking for a reputable PV company that can order and install the PV gear for our house. Preferably, a company under non-Thai management. Not trying to generalize here, but in 20 years in this country I have noticed that scamming, lying and cheating is considered normal business practices by most Thai people, particularly when it involves dealing with Farangs. This is in stark contrast with other Asian nations such as Japan, Hong Kong or Singapore (other places where I have done business and was never cheated out of a single cent).
I would really appreciate if any of you could recommend a company that will deliver on its promises.
Thanks.

We have just vacated our office in United Tower next to J Avenue on Thonglo, due to our business moving to Hong Kong (something about HK being a better business environment - but this is another topic). Our office was on the 11th floor with a superb unobstructed view over the Thong Lo area, right across House of Beers.
We've had a great time during the 2 years we've spent there. The rent was very reasonable, the maintenance flawless, the building staff courteous and helpful.
The two things that really stood out were: the building manager (Khun Ratchanee) and the location (literally on J Avenue, between Soi 15 and 17).
Khun Ratchanee has been the most helpful and kind landlord I've ever dealt with in Thailand (been here for almost 20 years). I cannot say enough good things about her and how she went out of the way to help us and accommodate our needs.
The location is simply amazing: J avenue, Villa Market, bars & restaurants, this is probably the only place in Bangkok where you can have your lunch of a nice terrace every day. I'll definitely miss this place.
With such a fair price and top location, this place is guaranteed to be rented quickly. If you're looking for a 70-80 sqm office, I suggest you give Khun Ratchanee a call: 086 075 6321 (say you were recommended by Emmanuel, hopefully she'll give you the same best deal we've enjoyed the last two years).
Thailand elite visa - Advice needed
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Posted
On my Thai Elite welcome letter I notice the following, written in bold letters, underlined:
After Thailand Elite Visa is granted, you are allowed to stay in Thailand for 1 year starting from your latest arrival date. If you wish to stay longer without leaving Thailand, you must do the stay extension before the due date to prevent fine and penalty for overstaying.
Pretty clear, no?
