  1. I have met a few men who have suffered the same and have lost their all .

I warned one friend at his wedding reception that he was about to be taken to the cleaners .

He has been , robbed of all his capital , two houses and three cars .

ALL Thai womens interest in foreign men is ONLY for money .

There are some good women/wives among them , but many are just thieves without scruple .

I am fortunately married to one of the good honest ones .

I cannot believe how foolish and naive foreign men are .

coming from a more advanced civilization , they make the mistake of equating Thais with themselves .

Thailand is like a venus fly trap .

Many women have already been married and have children , there shouldn't be a bride price for second hand goods .

Bt2,900,000 was a rediculous sum to pay to get married !

There is no sinsod for a divorced, widower, or mother, ("second hand goods")at most only pay for dinner for family
  2. Deputy Prime minister Plodprasop Suraswadi was WRONG in saying protesters are "garbage" and threatening arrest of protesters and their opinions are worthless is again WRONG!!!, I THINK HE SHOULD STEP DOWN AFTER APOLERGISING TO THE PEOPLE OF Thailand AND THE GOVERNMENT.

This article is WRONG with its comment, "The Pheu Thai sales pitch often claims it to be a government of the people by the people, IT IS!!!

The people of Thailand a democratically elected this government on 3 separate times, GET OVER IT! OR TRY TO TAKE GOVERNMENT WITHOUT A COUP!

"A government of the people" The 2005 general election the Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra Thai Rak Thai party won 374 seats out of 500 seats,

2006 Thaksin Shinawatra was OVERTHROWN in a military coup, NOT OF THE PEOPLE!!!

A "government of the people" as they (the people) elected this current party into power,

PTP won 265 seats out of 500 seats, the Democrat party won 159 seats, again GET OVER IT!!!

What is so "wrong" about the comment "The Pheu Thai sales pitch often claims it to be a government of the people by the people"? I think that's a factual statement. It sets the stage for their argument. They claim this but do this instead.

Throwing about election numbers (as if those mean much in a system plagued with vote-buying) is irrelevant. The point of the entire article is that a government is for everyone...not just ones that voted them. They have to be accountable for decisions that will affect everyone in this country. Everyone should have a voice and not fear being silenced, ridiculed or prosecuted by the government.

This article is just stating the obvious. The fact that you seem bent out of shape about it says more about you than the person that wrote it.

It seems YOU did not read my opening sentence,,, AGIAN, what the deputy PM said is wrong and he should step down after the apologies are made to the Thai people and the government and this should NEVER happen again.

Yes everyone has an opinion and can voice them as long as it dose not exclude others rights.

Again if you don't like it then win then WIN the government by vote NOT by coup, or do you prefer a bloody coup to the democratic vote? Do you have the right to vote? Hmmm I wounder?

Politicians around the world have done and said some truly stupid things, politicians around the world have said some truly stupid things and Deputy PM is one of them.

Throwing around "vote buying" (your opinion)(can you prove it?) is not helping, and disrespectful of the peoples choice of government.

so the FACT is they have the approval of the MAJORITY of the people.

if you don't like it then go live and make comment in SYRIA, Turkey, or Afghanistan, because some(the minority) seem to not be happy to accept the(majority) peoples vote again and again and again...

No, I read and don't necessarily agree with your opening sentence. He said something stupid and an apology would suffice although I think the people would perhaps be better served if he did step down. But who's to say, that would all depend on who filled the slot afterwards.

You seem to be all over the place. I'm not sure if you are capable of rational conversation. What do votes or my right to vote have to do with this article or any of your nonsensical arguments??? Again, the author of the editorial is saying the government should grow a thicker skin and allow freedom of opinions to flow even if they do feel butt hurt. He goes on to give several examples of the government overstepping and overreacting.

YOU are the one that keeps going on about the people's vote and YOU are the one that keeps posting with massive capital letters all over the place like you are incapable of keeping your emotions in check. Contrary to what YOU seem to think, this thread is not about who can vote, who did vote, or who got the majority of the votes. It is simply about the government's actions regarding people of different opinion.

I swear, you say people should have the right to voice an opinion and you say Plodprasop was wrong in his statements. I fail to understand just where it is that you disagree with the editorial. Your entire emotional outburst seems to be based around your incorrect interpretation of one sentence in the article or other imagined issues unrelated to it.

I understand English is not everyone's first language but if you can't read and fully comprehend the article why are you here arguing just for argument's sake?

MY election comments stem from other posts red shirt bashing, so forgive my low tollerance for the whingers as very sour grapes I think.
  3. HMMMmmm Start governing for the good of Thai people?

Well I know so many working people are or were happier with getting a bigger (300 baht per day) salary,

unfortunately so many so many rich landlords and others have increased the rents eroding that increase.

An increase of uni graduates minimum salary Hmmm,

I as an employer am happy to pay a fair salary for my staff.

and "CRY ME A RIVER" is not that great of a song,

If you are so happy about it why did you not pay it when Abhist was the PM?

I assume now that you have to pay it you just take less profit for your self and leave the price of what ever you were selling the same.

you assume wrong, I started my business after the election there for after the law was put into affect.

    next assumption please?

  4. HMMMmmm Start governing for the good of Thai people?

Were happier is correct. Because food and household stuff has also gone up. As it would.

And your last sentence just shows your being argumentative rolleyes.gif

Sent from my GT-P1010 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

NO my last sentence it was said in 'jest' of a previous post.
  5. WHAT??? What was done to the red shirt protesters was NOT HEAVY HANDED? you are joking!!! how many shot? how many killed how many injured? MEN WOMAN AND CHILDREN!!! this sanctioned by hmmm whom? was it in power by default via coup? or do you justify military coup when the out come dose not suite you?

you keep dodging that one or do you selectively choose your HEAVY handedness on protesters?

  6. HMMMmmm Start governing for the good of Thai people?

  7. Fact

At the last general election in 2011

    PTP won 15.3 million votes

    Democrats about 11 million votes

In 2011 there were 46,918,719 people eligible to vote

    35,203,107 actually voted

So 20 million people who did vote did NOT vote PTP.

So PTP did NOT win a MAJORITY of the votes by about 5 million.

They only won 32% of the eligble votes or 43.4 of the total votes cast.

Neither figure is the MAJORITY of the people unless you are using Red Shirt mathematics where accuracy does not count or matter.

Are you aware that the people that were not in their province (due to work or other obligations)on the day of the vote they were not allowed to cast an absentee vote? so how many northern people that work in another province were prevented to vote. possible this counts for the 20 million NON votes cast? and who is responsible for this?

if you win an election even by ONE vote then is that not the majority?

Were YOU not aware that people traveled back to vote.. You ask WHO is responsible.. Umm maybe the Government.... previous as well as current. Them have ALWAYS been the rules.

You ask "if you win an election even by ONE vote then is that not the majority?" NO. It's just a win.

PTP are in government fact, they won fact, get over it or ...CRY ME A RIVER LADY'S...

  12. Let them know she is calling the police for harassment. See how long they hang around and have 2nd thoughts about another victim. Either that, or kick them in the ... biggrin.png

Amusing story of my recent flight to Samui.

Flew out from U-Tapao on a BKK airways flight that was at best 30% full, I was seated in row 2 with my missus opposite us in row 2 were two guys of unknown ethnicity (English was not their native tongue but they could speak it)............ as the flight was preparing to land the very pretty cabin lady came to her seat to buckle in for landing upon which time one of the guys asked her how much for short time upon which him and his mate burst out laughing.

Stone cold faced she replied to him "Would you like to continue enjoying your holiday or would you like me to speak to the Captain and ask for the police to meet you when we land"............. guy went very pale faced and apologized profusely.

Very clever woman, the two fool's will think a second time before they say this to any other woman that is not in a bar
  13. In Buddhist Thailand, family is the most important thing. That is unless you can make a baht or two by pimping them out! whistling.gif

    Family first!

Sinsod first. No money no marriage. Marriage is pre-arranged by the girl's family. Ah!you are going to say that sometimes the money is returned to the groom... Sometimes? In the union of two people who love each other, why there has to be money given to the girl's family? <Thai language removed> Tradition to sell a daughter to a man she may not even love? Wait!! I forget,: Farang cannot understand Thainess

What a pile of BS,,, or dose everyone have to follow YOUR way of thinking,

    Small minds = small thinking.

  14. It's not a ghost, it is a lower angel, not normal to give red Fanta but it dose happen if you look closely at the photo you can see some small dancing dolls, the gifts are because people come and pray and ask for something, maybe find a husband, or get a government job, or travel to another country, the is seven coloured cloths is a gift also.

OOOP'S not seven colours, nine colours,

  16. TA, My point was the Ford 2.2L is OK for what it is.

For the more powerful pickups the 3.0L Toyota D4D engine is very good and its low speed torque is exceptional. The competitors like the Mitsu will cruise along at 1,500 to 1800 rpm as well but the Toyota does it a little better. However the Toyota looses out when pushed hard at 3,500 - 4,000 rpm, can't have it both ways. The difference doesn't amount to much with an auto tranny.

I've not driven a 3.2L Ranger but assuming MRO's graphs are correct, the 3.0L Toyota only has an advantage below 1,100 rpm, above that the 3.2L Ford is way ahead in power and torque. Problem is no one seems to be able to get Ford to deliver one.

I bought the new ford XLT ranger 2.2 manual double cab pick up for my wife and I love it and she loves it to,,,

it's up to your driving style and what you use it for.

it has plenty of pull for towing a boat or what ever you need.

I have been driving Toyota landcruiser and hilux for years on the land in OZ, and underground, tough pick up, the bitsaremissing (Mitsubishi) also very good, n

    but I like the ford.

  17. UNBELIEVABLE!!!

I have a few ideas much better than burning more coal,,,

Coal fired power, limited supply, rising cost of supply, dirty, highly Inefficient, long term damage to peoples health and the planet,

    1. Solar power, clean, renewable.
    2. Thermal, (hot spring) clean, renewable.
    3. Ceramic fuel cell, gas fuel, low emissions, 85% efficient,

Well, all fine and good but how does one become a hub with this . . . geez, think before posting logic

For solar power , self power generation and feed into the grid, ( potential to export power), power hub

Ceramic fuel cell, self power generation and feed into the grid,( potential to export power), power hub Geez, think before posting your logic
