  1. Keep this people separated from the public forever.

And feed them forever by my tax money (the money I've working hard for)? And pay/support the guards, fences, courts, jails etc??

No, thanks! I better feed one more homeless dog - they do NOT deserve ignorance, as those CREATURES do.

You need not feed them well.

Cheap, subsistence fair will cost little, make them wish every day for more,

but keep living to regret their acts, for as long as it takes to expire naturally.

Small room, limited movement, no sunlight leading to depression, crap food,

no reading, door welded shut, live in your pathetic/apathetic thoughts.

Tough luck, you made your bed, go end your days in it.

    Bye bye.

I'm sorry, but I'd never wish that on the worst criminals or murderers. Seriously - Everyone deserves a second chance, no matter what they do. I'm not saying they shouldn't be punished - by all means, jail them for a year or two - however while they are in prison, try and re-educate them. Teach them about respect and introduce them to God. After a couple of years, I'm of the firm belief that everyone should be given a second chance, to prove to everyone (as well as themselves) that indeed they have changed, and can make it and be a respectful person like the rest of us. Jesus loves you and loves us all.

  2. I've got no sympathy for this person at all. If you decide against taking up travel insurance when going to a place like Thailand, you deserve whatever happens to you if you have an accident. No sympathy from me.

Sounds like you've never been young and taken chances, and had a very boring life.

You're way off the mark buddy - I actually have an excellent life. I wouldn't trade it with anyone. I have a kick-ass job. Am only 28 years of age and I already own my own home and have almost finished paying off the mortgage to my investment property. Life is brilliant!! I am also well traveled. Also, whenever I go to Third-world, desolate countries like Thailand, I ALWAYS get the maximum amount of travel insurance possible. Anything could happen while traveling to one of those countries.

Well good for you, you are one of the lucky ones with ooooodles of cash so nothing is a problem, keep it up and lets be careful out there. :D ( God what a boring bloke )

I am guessing your American cos some always go on about money. Strange that.

Actually I'm not American - I'm Australian. I wish I was American though - I admire the American way. They're leading the world in everything, and all credit to them. If you can't beat `em, join em. In 3 months I'm off to LA for 3 weeks, and I can't wait!!! Even when going to the States I get travel insurance!!

  3. Some plonkers just don't get it. Insurance does not prevent accidents from happening.

So you have a accident and let's say you lose a leg with insurance, everyone should give you sympathy no insurance means no sympathy. Divvy

    This/\

but i would have used a harsher word than 'plonkers'

If you make the foolish decision not to pay for travelers insurance, you are like the fool that is now paralyzed. He is definitely worthy of the title: Plonker.

  4. I can't believe how unforgiving and ruthless some of the previous posts are. While it's terrible with what has happened to the victim, Thailand should also think about rehabilitation.

Creatures like that one are usually hard to rehabilitate. Almost no chance - they simply CANNOT stand away from their own wild. Once tried and being forgiven, they will easily offend more and more - right after they learn that the punishment is NOT a punishment. This is the way to become a smart, hidden, experienced and highly dangerous recidivist.

All we can do here effectively - is to prevent such of future cases by showing NO tolerance since the beginning. Here I'll repeat once more: in such of cases, "an eye for an eye" rule must be applied. I'll be first to vote for that.

How can you say that, and think the "Eye for an eye principal" should be applied, without knowing the circumstances behind this case? Maybe the offender was sexually abused as a child, or had other adolescent issues when growing up. If that's the case, I firmly believe that he doesn't deserve to be jailed for the rest of his life, or even worse - to be inhumanely put to death.

Instead, after being rehabilitated, he should be given another chance. Of course he should probably be closely monitored if he were to get released, but I'd be all for it in giving this poor guy a second chance, if there were extenuating circumstances. C'mon people - Have a heart. Why be like a murderer and say that this guy should die??? Anyway - Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

I am one that said he should live, but I never said anything about getting out. There are lot of reasons people do things, but few excuses. Life - don't even ask to get out - not going to happen.

Well, I for one hope that he will get out sooner rather than later. Everyone has some good in them, and I'm sure that this person does too. He just needs to be given another chance. I'm praying for him.....and that will make up for the unforgiving people on this site that would like to see this poor person hanged. The right way will prevail.

  6. I see the logic being spouted here,

riding bike on country road minding own buisness, suddenly - of course that truck overtaking the other truck has seen me on my side of the road , small bike, no worries - oops-

head squashed like watermelon, insurance means remains are scraped off road and shipped to family, family obviously very happy with remains and console selves with sighs of ahh at least the wee nipper had insurance we would be fried catfish otherwise

    other case no insurance

head is removed from road and put in box, TV members have no sympathy for you or your family, doh while sitting on your cloud or as the flames start to reach your ears you are thinking if only I had got insurance then TV members would have loved me too, but seems I am fuc_ked cos I don't have insurance

Bottom line is he should have had insurance. End of story. If you go traveling anywhere, you should insure yourselves - That way other people don't have to financially come to the rescue for you and waste their money. If this <deleted> had insurance he would've saved himself being stuck in Thailand longer than he was, and would've been home earlier. Oh well.....at least next time he'll fork out the extra cash to get insurance - although it'll probably be hard to travel after he's done that to himself.

are you stupid or what are you aware the persons family may read this have some respect...............

I do have respect. Self respect. On the other hand, I've got no respect for ignorant travelers that don't think their travel plans through before hand and decide not to get travel insurance. If anything ends up happening to them, more often than not are they a financial drain on other peoples pockets. What's wrong in saying that he deserves what has happened to him? Life was never meant to be easy. At least next time he'll probably get travel insurance this time.

  7. I can't believe how unforgiving and ruthless some of the previous posts are. While it's terrible with what has happened to the victim, Thailand should also think about rehabilitation. What good is it to have this guy (and heaps of other prisoners) just rot in jail and do nothing???? Heaps of research suggests that if criminals are jailed, when released they are more likely to offend. I know what this allegedly did was terrible, but I'm all for rehabilitation. Also, in the long run, it would be more easy on the tax payers wallet to rehabilitate this guy and get him back out into society where he can be an active member, working, paying taxes like everyone else.

  9. Curious, as I was told by a mod in another thread I could not name and shame a violent Thai contractor (attacked me with a shovel with a few other Thai guys) because he was innocent until proven guilty. Was tolf a police report does not prove anything, even though he admitted to attacking me.

Yet this guy, along with everyone else arrested or accused in Thailand, are also innocent until proven guilty. Why can these stories be posted time and time again for people are are also innocent until proven guilty, if we can not name and shame the locals in the same manner?

I agree with you, Tokay. If that's not double standards, I don't know what is!!! I'm all for you posting his details up on TV to warn the rest of us against using this nutters services. Definitely double standards.

  10. overhaul38 - I'm currently living in Melbourne, but have also lived in Sydney & Perth - Regardless of which state you're living in Australia, the parking fine amount would at least be $100. I can't stand the prices the govt charges for driving fines & infringements. Give me Thailand any day!!

  11. Heya,

Many years ago I was able to speak Thai near fluent, however due to not practising it over these past few years have forgotten a lot!

I just went to all the book shops in Perth to see if they had anything, and they've barely got anything at all!

Other people have told me that Linguaphone is the best for of tuition but it's so dammed expensive?

Does anyone have any good links where I'l be able to download some Thai teaching software??

Your help would be much appreciated! :o

    Thanks
