If America is so concerned about this issue then why do we keep doing business with them? Just like any nation, if they are hit at the bottom line they tend to be a bit more flexible and more conscious of the causes of the loss of income. There are many things in Thailand that are from the 18th century. One of these days the Thais are going to learn that being concerned with their reputation in lieu of being concerned with reality is not serving the government or their people well at all.

I have seen and heard some really bazaar things in Thailand, but this one takes the cake! Who accused him/ratted him out?
-
Where were the potential buyers? Only in Thailand I suppose.

That helmet probably saved him on all accounts. Wish him a the best and a speedy recovery.

They do understand that when you do percentages they should equal 100% at the end, with +/- factored in and that the lower the number is the least and not always the best.....if 33% don't like lewd acts then 67% are cool with lewd acts.lol I guess this is a case of fuzzy math.

So, was there a direct alligation or what?

If the country is so embarrassed then uphold the law. It isn't America's or any other country's fault that the country is known for it's huge sex industry. One 2 minute skit on SNL isn't the reason prostitution is so well known in Thailand and to portray it as such is equally embarrassing for the country. The Thais should consider cleaning up their side of the street before they condemn anyone else for prostitution.

It's must be just blocked content for Thailand, because it is still there.

How about all of the expats pick up and move away? What would happen then? If I take a guest of mine to see local attractions or shopping that doesn't make me a tour guide, plus the fact that I am still spending money.

Truth hurts doesn't it?

I think it would fitting if these gentlemen, and I use the term loosely, were treated the same as they treated these young victims, make them beg for death for awhile then finish them.

Just stay in the public eye and keep speaking out, don't lose your resolve Khun you are speaking for more souls than your daughter.

Why even bother putting this out there when the laws that are on the books aren't inforced.

I thought money made the world go around, but evidently it's ignorance!

"Deputy Prime Minister Chalerm Yoobamrung said he did not think incidents in the Muslim-majority South could be considered "terrorism" and that it was the media's fault for creating fear among the public. National Security Council secretary-general Lt-General Paradorn Pattanathabutr agreed, saying the degree of violence in the South could not be regarded as "terrorism"."
Ever heard of domestic terrorism Mr. Prime MInister? You might want to look it up. Thailand is such a beautiful place, but the constant worrying about their image crap is ridiculous. Instead of worrying about the image and putting a band aid on it, how about looking at the problem(s), finding solutions and taking care of the problem for good instead of just worrying about how the country looks to the rest of the world?

I wouldn't say being beaten and stabbed is execution style. Somebody was very angry at this man, this was a up close and personal murder not a detached execution.

Where did they get the idea that he had been pick pocketed? His wallet was in the room, with money in it. And when they say the knife was nearby do we mean across the room nearby or laying right next to or more likely under the hand he used to "slash" himself with. He went to Tesco and bought a t-shirt, a knife and some milk?
Maybe he just wanted to see where the milk went after he drank it. That's just as plausible as him being pick pocketed.

How small the bag must have been.

Well, so we have a cure for autism and its addictions. Wow, who knew?

"Now you young ladies, ur um , I mean young men, yeah, young people, go home right now and stop roaming the streets or you're going to be in big trouble, you understand me?"

These people have heard of DNA right? Sounds like grandma isn't much better than her daughter. Got money? You stay. No money? Oh, you have to go.

This is the biggest problem the Thai people have? I'm not a big GaGa fan, but I would be curious as to how much money she brought in .

Shouldn't have reduced the sentences because of a confession. They deserve everything they get!

He saw her in short pants and was aroused? Really? I'm glad she did answer her phone and I'm glad this guy is of the streets...again. I don't know how long I am going to live here, but I don't think that cabs are ever going to be less creepy to me than they are right now!
Philip Morris fumes at Thailand cigarette pack rules

Why does the government owe Philip Morris any explanation at all? If Philip Morris wants to do business in Thailand, then they should have to follow the specs. It's pretty simple actually, one of the more cut and dry things I've seen. The tobacco industry is huge and many people depend on it to feed their families, and in some cases it is the only job they can find, however, sometimes there are prices to be paid for using a product, not only by the consumer, but by the industry.
