"...as soon as he came towards my truck, I was terrified and broke immediately".....OR...."I saw this farang riding his motorcycle, behind me, minding his own business, with a smile on his face and either...... (1) I broke immediately for some unknown reason or (2) I decided to teach him a lesson and broke immediately...." (terrified of a motorcycle behind you as you are driving a 6-wheeler????....would you slam on the brakes or accelerate if someone was coming up behind you any way???....what danger might a 6-wheeler be in regardless, not even a dent???.......
Uninformed Juan Kerr as usual on this site

Thanks Bill
As I understand it all the arrival/departure cards are now computerised so it is a fairly simple method of cross referencing when leaving........maybe not computerised when your friend had some probs a few years ago.

Once you leave LOS no need to 90 day report, however if/when he returns the 90 days rule starts from the new re entry date thus negating his original 90 dayer....make sense???

I,m sorry Dotcom......you must understand that I live in Isaan and us country boys tend to be more stupid than you big city boys

Many apologies to Lop3 .........of course I was referring to Thaihome.
I have a photocopy of my departure card and have been told by imm. office @ the airport "NO PALOM PALEM"

Hi All
I'm nearly due for a 90 day report and I have just noticed that my arrival card is missing from my passport.

Song Khran... the only time of the year the farangs are trying to GET OUT of Thailand!
Nice 1!!!
Up here in Khon Kaen the fesitivities and madness is starting already!! You can't get on a bus without getting buckets of water thrown at you from kids on the side or the road!! It really hots up next week and the police will not have a say on the water / talc fest!!!! I think, to be honest, they can't be ar**ed anyways up here. Chill, chill!
My experiences from last year are enough to keep me housebound now until it's all over. Friends were supposed to drive my Thai hubby and some Farang friends of ours around the city but couldn't come at the last minute so muggins here ended up driving Uncle's battered pick-up around with our 2 month old baby in the cab with me. The air-con failed (great!!) so a tad warm in the 39C heat and thought my baby was going to explode she was so hot!! Couldn't put the windows down as both babe and I would have been watered and talced to death!! Then the car overheated and broke down with us stuck in the middle of the water / talc fest area. Great fun for very drunk by now hubby and friends. Nightmare for the have to be responsible and sober Mum!! Me!!
I'll get my own back one year, don't you worry!! I'll have the biggest, most powerful water gun there is so watch out Mad Farang woman with a huge shooter!!!! Ha ha!!!
Enjoy or avoid. Whatever tickles your fancy!!!!
What a load of crap......are you sure you are in khon Kaen?.......Troll

I'm on a one year extension of stay visa from immigration. I've also realised I need a new passport too as my pages are full, but I don't have my birth certificate. My passport is nowhere near expired, so will I have to provide a birth certificate to get the new visa? It's getting a bit messy as when I get my new passport I will need my visa transfered before I quit my job, so I may prolong my quitting for another month.
But after which point, when I have my new passport and my non-im b is terminated, and then I have 7 days to leave, can I do the usual 90 day routine? I'm hoping so, but I worried that my previous two years here might cause some problems.
Dear Sir, just because your passport is full does not mean you need a new passport, contact you embassy and they will add more pages for you. I assume you have a 1 year NON-"B" visa. if so exist and re-entery thailand prior to the next 90day and you will reciveve another 90 days entry into the Kingdom
Regards,
Eric
Never heard of a UK passport getting extra pages inserted

I,m having a real Work Permit nightmare:
On my last trip to the UK I got a Non Imm 'O' Multiple Entry Visa valid from 23 March 2006 until 23 March 2007. On entry into Thailand I was admitted until 24 June(90 days).
I was then offerred a teaching position at a local govt. school in Khon Kaen....They had never gone through the WP Process before so it was a bit like the blind leading the blind...however on the 5 June I was granted a Work Permit from the Dept of Employment and Labor....got the Blue WP Book etc....however it was o0nly valid until 24 June ( I have been given a 1 year contract from the school).... Up to this point I have not been to Nong Khai Immigration...
Now I have been getting conflicting information about my visa status.....some people are saying that because I have a non Imm 'O' Visa I have to go to Vientienne to change my Visa to a Non Imm 'B' in order to extend my work permit OR prior to the 24th can I turn up at Nong Khai Immigration Office with my Work Permit and school papers and get the full 12 months Work Permit stamp. I have tried to phone the office but they never answer the phone.....
I hope this info is clear and can get a definative answer
