  1. Good day

at present I have a NON-IMM O with a retirement visa extention which expires on the 28th March. I hold a British passport.

I needed to use some of my vested money due to family matters so my account has fallen below the 800 000 bht which is needed for the two months before renewal of extemtion.

It looks like that I will now need to leave the country and renew my NON-IMM O permit. I was thinking of travelling to Penang and coming back into Thailand on a visa on arrival then sort out my NON-IMM O permit with my local immergration office in Korat. Or if I can obtain a NON-IMM permit in Pennang if easier. Then convert to a retirement or this time marrage extention.

if there are easier places to travel to than Pennang Im happy to do so.

Can I also fly out of Thailand a week before my visa extention expires and apply for a New NON-IMM O permit which I belive should give me 90days to sort out my extenion. Money would be vested by then again the required 2 months

    Thanks.

  2. Good Day All.

I would like some advice with a problem that I have created for myself with my  Non-Imm O visa and my  retirement extension of stay. Both which expire on 28 March 2020.

Due to the fast need for capital I needed to use my 800000bht yesterday and it does not look like I can transfer the capital in time to replenish my bank account in time for my annual visit to the immigration. 28th March 2020

If I fly out of the country before the 28th March can I come back into Thailand and keep my Non-Imm. O visa and get a 90 day visa on return to Thailand.

I will then be able to build up enough funds in my bank account to apply again (800000bht) for my retirement extension?

Can you also please confirm that for a retirement extension that the 800000bht needs only be in the bank for two months as I was under the impression that it was for three months.

    Thanks Colin

  3. Thanks for that 7x7. She is on the first leg of the spouse visa being in the UK for sixteen months now on it was her first trip out of the UK since arriving. She has a US visa which she never used which is eight years old now this was transfered into her now old Thai passport, before we left Thailand. I don`t think she will have time to arrange the transfer but do not want her to get turned around with my daughter ( who has both UK and Thai passports )at immigration. her old Thai passport did not run out for another six months. I dont think she has UK biometric residence permit the spouse entry visa ( as I call it ) sorry Im away at work at the moment and not with her, she was granted the visa around two years ago. She will carry her last two passports with her and her new one and hope all goes well.

    thanks again

  4. My wife has just renewed her Thai passport in Korat and was expecting for her spouse visa for the UK to be transferred over to her new passport. She has been told now that she needs to go to Bangkok for this to be completed. As she is flying out on Wednesday 31st Aug. Is there a problem if she fly’s back to the UK with the Old and New passport with the current visa still in her old passport. Would she have a problem entering The UK.

  5. sorry guys. but my wife has just loaded this one one me. we are off to England tomorrow and she has 67gms of gold that she wants to take with her. Is this a problem leaving and going into the uk. We are going in on a spouse visa. All responses will be received tongue in cheek but do not need a problem after a long haul getting the visa.

    thanks

  6. thanks for the reply`s.

I will amend the application form as Sponsor to being my mother she has already written a consent letter explaining we are welcome to live under her roof and will not be a financial problem to her and supplied ownership of her house and we have photos of previous visits spent there along with other documents.

Looking on the application form once again under the section of relationship of sponsor it also does not have a drop down for mother-in-law or father-in-law so will just place mother and fill the rest in around my mother as sponsor

Also with have the savings in long term accounts in my wife name in Bangkok bank to cover the amount.

thanks and im sure there will be other questions to come as the more I read the less confident I am that I am 100% correct. and with all the time delays I donot want to resubmit.

  7. Good Day All

head starting to spin in circles so hope you can bring me back on track.

a little bit of history. I am married to Thai wife with a seven year old daughter borne in Thailand, I have just received my British passport after letting it lapse for 30yrs as emigrated to Oz. Now have been living in Thailand for five years and married for four years.

i need to go back to the U.K to look after my mother as she is in her later years and I am approaching them fast being 61yrs. and still working fly in out.

I have made an appointment on 13th Oct. to submit all the paper work for my daughter to hopefully get a British passport.

We will be staying at my mothers house which she owns.

Wife booked into Vantage English Test and prep classes. Will complete T.B Check at same time.

Also just been going through on line BETA visa application for my wife for "Apply to join family living permanently in the U.K" ie. Settlement WIFE. I cannot find any idiots guide to help me fill it in and there are a couple points i would liked clarified.

There is a section in there that comes under "sponsor", which I presume is me. But further down the application there is a section that asks: what is the relationship of sponsor to you. As its a drop down box you are restricted to their options and there is none mentioning husband or wife but many other relationships ie. uncle , cousin ect. I just entered the option of "other relative". it seems strange that there is not a section for myself, if I'm correct.

What I would like to Know is.

    1. does my wife need a sponsor as she has the required funds in her bank account in Thai bank 18600 x 5 UKP.

    2. have we got the correct visa for all of us to go and live in the U.K when myself and daughter both have British passports.

    3. Do I have the correct visa application.

    Thanks Big time

  8. Good Day All

and thanks for all your effort in the forum it is making my path for applying for a spouce visa a lot less hassel than I new it would be. A couple of questions.

is there a site that has good information on the new English test that my wife needs to take and any old test papers available. Her english is OK but to what level is required and knowledge of the UK.

Once my wife has her visa and is in the UK how long does she need to stay before she can go home before it will effect her visa. And how long can she stay in Thailand.

    thanks

  9. Good Day All

I have just also started my spouse visa. At present living in Thailand and hope to return early next year with my wife and daughter. They have both been to UK twice on a tourist visa without any problems. My daughter is seven years old. I have been married for four years and still work fly in / out now 60yrs old. I am hoping to return to the UK to look after my mother who is frail and in need of some body to care for her. I have many questions but start with.

the amount of money that my wife needs in her name 62500 GBP does this need to be in a UK bank account we have it in Thai bank accounts without selling any land.

My wages are deposited into a joint bank account in Thailand. Will this be OK to show along with a letter from my employer. My wage is enough to cover the amount.

I do have a UK bank account but only has 8000 GBP . but been there a long time. We will be staying at my mothers house the whole period.

    thanks

  10. I do not have any problem going back to the U.K . My problem is that when i applied for a renewal of my UK passport in the UK they wanted me to supply my current Aus. passport and it would take 6-8 weeks to be returned. As I am still working Flying in and out of Thailand I need my Aus. passport. I am hoping by arranging an interview at British Embassy Bangkok they will not require me to hand in my Aus. passport then I can obtain a U.K passport and then register my daughter as British, so she can then enter the Schooling system when we go back to the UK.

I would like to know if this is possible to keep my Aus. passport whilst all of this is going on.

  11. I hope somebody can help. Ive been trying to renew my Old black UK passport as i need to return to the UK to look after my Mother. At present I have a Australian passport as i emigrated around 34 yrs ago and let my Uk passport lapse. I am married to a Thai lady and have a seven year old daughter who has Australian citizenship and wish to take them with me, but one step at a time the first is to renew my U.K passport. I have just come back from the U.k trying to renew my UK passport and went along to submit all the paper work and completed forms at the Post Office to be told that I also needed to send in my current Australian passport. And all would be returned to me within 6 - 8 weeks. As I was flying back to Thailand the next day and also needed my passport for work as I fly in and out on a 4 weeks rooster this could not happen.
So now I am back home in Thailand and will try again at the British Embassy in Bangkok. I was was reading on their web sight that at the interview they return all documents as I need the Visa`s in my passport for Thailand and work. Does anybody know if this is true or any other way around the problem.
