I am looking into retirment in Thailand together with my wife - we are both Farang.

I had figured to use the tax free lump sum from my private pension - as yet untouched to cover for the 800k Baht deposit necessary in a Thai Bank account.

Thius lump sum is tax free in UK - but do you know if I will I get hit for tax on it in Thailand?
