  1. I have now narrowed my 'Credit Eating' down to 2 TXT which come in regularly.

They tell me I will be lucky if I keep Silver Fish etc, etc. Names   Taiduang    TamnaiChock

Problem is it seems to be hitting the Credit by maybe 20 Bhat a time.

From outside Thailand is there any Control Code to stop all txts - best for the moment.

Control Codes like #123# work fine from my location.

I would put a STOP on them but No Tel for the Txts

  2. Hi Everyone,

On checking Internet I found the excerpt below - problem is although True Control codes e.g #123# = Balance work ok for me in Europe.  The *137 as per below does not - anyone any ideas on this?

I tried making it as a Call but No Not recognised from here.

    ......................................................................................

Eventually, I got around to looking it up and found that it’s very easy to unsubscribe from the SMS spam sent by True themselves:

    1. Call *137 from the phone you want to unsubscribe (I had to put the SIM from my tablet into a phone to make the call).
    2. Press 9 for English.
    3. Follow the automated instructions (as of 2014, you press 1 to unsubscribe from SMS spam although this may have been changed to pressing 2 in April, 2020.).

    I had a similar situation with a 12Call sim

Was some spammy daily charging 'service' the help at the call centre stopped it, refunded me and put a block on the account stopping any such BS from enacting itself in the future

    Hi,

Yes that sort of thing rather than a more Tech situation is my main worry  - thnxs

    Thats very strange...

Do you have The True iService App ?...   and checked that Roaming is turned off not just on your phone, but also on the 'account' itself.

As an experiment, have you removed the SIM for a day or two and see what happens ?

Also... From the True iService App - you can chat with customer service and ask them.

    Hi Richard,

That is my next more - SIM out - just did it - all Apps I need still seem to work ok,

    Thnxs Reply.

Be sure the data is off and only wifi on, when the data is turned on the sim will charge data fees. If the phone is wifi calling capable then you’re good to go, if not then get an iPhone or other wifi calling device.

    Hi NovaCova,

Thnxs for reply - will check that out - I think the whole situation started up when I used a TrueH Wiifi package for first time - I usually have my Huawei Router with me.

Just checked this morning - down to 6 Bhat again.  ;o))

Will try the 'Data OFF' see how it goes.

    Cheers

  6. Hi All,

A problem with my TrueH SIM .

I am presently in Europe - my Mobile has a UK SIM plus my TrueH SIm.

My Thai SIM Credit is being 'eroded' maybe a small amount each day  - really annoying.

I have topped up several times and off it goes down again bit by bit each day - but not an exact amounts e.g 20 Baht.

I have been right through the phone settings and actuallly switched OFF the Thai SIM in SIM manager but still the Credit keeps being 'chipped' away.

Roaming of course is OFF - in fact everything I can think of is OFF.

I need Thai SIM for various Thai situations so want to leave in Phone - I just switch it ON if needed - check the CREDIT etc.

Is there any way to actually see what these small Debits are??

Maybe something not to my phone SIM - something elsewhere - TrueH?

Any all ideas more than welcome.

    Best Rgds

Can I ask which doctor you saw?

Hi,  sorry no reply before now  - Dr Preeyanuch Khunsongkiet - a lady.

Initially frightened the life out of me - found every little thing ref my eyes - some of which missed in UK - but once I got the hang of how she  explains - not a problem - gave me plenty of time to ask questions - I had read up a lot in anticipation.

I am always a little reticent to recommend - but seems to me this lady is the 'real deal'.

    Good luck.

By the way I went for Mono Distance Lens ( left eye) - in fact it lets me see pretty well after a meter onwards - trying to read with it only a  little fuzzy.

My right eye can handle short and reads well but gets a little fuzzy ( just a little) over/after 3 metres or so.

Not sure if just my Brain or same everyone - but amazing - using both eyes now reading well - I suppose that is the right eye but also can see forever - ( must be the left).

More than pleased - delighted and when the time comes ( Cataract now forming right eye) I think will go for Mono near focus and hope Brain does what it seems to do now - sorts it all out.

  8. Thanks for the comments - one and all = yes the 'posh ' Coat of Arms ' is/was our  TM30s as per via UbanJoe.

This Forum really is the 'Bee's Knees' .

Looks like it might just get to be a bit 'rocky' - but whatever - have a good Year one and all.

Why would anyone even consider a girl doctor?  Lack of maturity?

Last couple of weeks have read this Forum thread in detail - serveral times - very useful.

Here my offering - Sriphat yesterday Lens replacment left eye - Mono Lens for distance.

Had been best eye entire life - could read road signs from a distance but also the smallest of small print - never glasses.

Then Cataract! - 83 years - left eye at point where 3 overlapping moons in the sky at night - something had to be done.

Sriphat appear to have the  'kit' to test just about all and every aspect of Vision.

Even so nervous as 'hell' on making decisions ref Mono or Toric Lens etc.

With right eye still OK close or distance - although never as good as the left had been - I decided for Mono Lens for distance for left eye hoping that the right would do for close and Brain would sort it all out.

It has!   Well done Brain! - better than I could ever have imagined

With Cataract  also in right at an early stage so now have option to go for Mono Lens for close - when/if the time comes.

I decided against Toric Lens as in past with much Computer Screen work I purchased a set of 'BiFocal' Glasses to cut eye strain and never really felt comfortable with them.

I decided for the simplicity on Mono Lens - glad that I did.

The young lady Doctor (at my age everyone seems young) who looked after me I hope will have the long successful career she deserves - absolutely first class in all respects . explanation - advice - decision making.

The situation now?   Well I am typing this less than 24 hours after the Op - no Glasses.

The law has been around for a while, before 2017, but it was largely ignored. 1970's?

The law states that you must register (TM 30) your place of accommodation within 24 hours of arrival.

It is the legal responsibility of the house owner, landlord, property manager, hotel to do this.

However, if they refuse, and you do not have one, immigration may -

    refuse to talk to you

    arrest you

    or whatever.

This seems to differ by IO location.

The bottom line these days is that if you want to talk to immigration about anything, it is more likely to be more fruitful if you are registered on the TM 30 database.

    Hi All,

Thnxs everyone for your replies - your comment here seems to tie exactly with my experience.

In fact I now realise the place we always stay at was probably doing the TM30 report way back in early 2000s when we discovered them.

But as for the TM30 Receipt?     Seems it was likely the Document they gave me with the Police Coat of Arms  with all details ref our stay - it did look like a Print Out of an Input Form from the WEB.

Once again thnxs All - I like to know exactly what is what - helps for any future situation.

  11. Hi,

Arrived on 'waiver' and upgraded with a 30 Days extension - all OK - Passport stamped etc - thnxs for advices given here.

Pandemonium at Central Festival  but excellent 'service with a smile' from Immi.

Prior to the Covid thing wife and I had 365 day Retirement Non 'O' Visa' for quite a few years.

Circa period 2017 I think the TM30 appeared on the scene - at least it seemed so to us - all of a sudden all and sundry were speaking about it.

Appeared to cause much confusion even at our 'long term' GuestHouse - although I had the impression that the responsibility was down to them.

At the time it seemed maybe as though it had always existed but few took seriously.

Now appears to be pretty 'central' to all paperwork.

Can anyone indicate exactly what it is all about - who supplies it etc.

The way it was for us previously was that we would sign in on arrival at GuestHouse - Passport No etc and then every evening Immi would arrive on a motorbike and take all details of all residents.

So long as that happened we were AOK when renewing out Retirement Visa.

This visit to CM we signed in as per usual - but just before Immi Central Festival visit GuestHouse gave us a Form with an impressif Police Coat of Arms  with all details ref our stay -- so is that the TM30?? .

We met with others at Central Festival who had been turned away due I think no TM30 - apparently a new Hotel only just opened who actually phoned Immi while people there but was insufficient.

    So what gives??  Any thoughts??

    Bets Rgds.

I was at Immigration near the airport last week.  I overheard a man who had just gotten his extension.  He'd expected to get another 30 days, but they gave him only 7 days for his 1900 baht.

They explained that he's allowed 2 extensions, the first one is for 30 days, but the second one is for 7 days.  The price is the same for both.

Understandably, he was not very happy.

    HI Mr Brad,

Now that is what you call 'shrinkflation'!   I try to be a 'good boy' - never mess with the 'rules'.

Had 10  very nice  years here - Retirement Visa - looking for more if possible - will start again this coming Autumn - 'future permitting'..

Yes, you use the TM7 form to obtain a 30-day extension (from exempt entry or Tourist Visa) and the charge is 1,900 baht.

I don't know if photo copying is available at Central Festival as I've never had to make copies there.

    Thnxs Bob,

First time I have done this as 'child bride' and I have always had 12 month Non O previously - want to go for one again but not until this Autumn -  get renewal date that suites,

I have until end Jan- so this coming Thursday gives me some  'wriggle room'.

Will get a copy done before I go.

    Have a good day.

I was told this afternoon that the TM6 Arrival Card for arrivals by air are once again required after there use was discontinued in (I believe) 2022. Can  anyone confirm this for CNX  or generally for Thailand?

    Hi,

Came in via Peking - no T6 - but happily had retained boaring Card Ticket stubs - Immi lady asked for that - they were tucked in Passport so no problem for us.

You can fill a TM7 at home. Worst that can happen is that you fill another one from the office and have yours to copy from.

Hi KhunBENQ - yup will give it go.

  18. Hi all,

I need to get a 30 days Extension come end January.

Arrived via Visa waiver - surprised no Landing Card - but informed at Immi "not needed" - wanted our Flight Ticket stubs - bit of a panic - luckily still in pocket.

Plenty Passport copies - no problem - always stay same place - TM30 as supplied by Owner previously - assume will be OK.

So just the TM7s and P/P Photos - can anyone advise please?

Plenty of Blank TM7s but from 4 years ago - with everything changing - have TM7s changed??

Photos - anyone know size and if White or Blue background?

All best for this New Year - it has been 4 years since last here - can see place took a 'hit' with Virus.

Shocked Kad Suan Kaew gone etc.

    Cheers.

In 2008 I rode the day train BKK-Sisaket in Isaan.  It was slow but fine, and part of the overall Thailand experience at that time for me. Jovial atmosphere onboard. There was food service and you could buy beer. You could stand outside between the cars and smoke a cigarette. The world was more relaxed even a scant 15 yrs ago. A lot of the fun has been sucked out of so many things these days. Perhaps Thailand could update and improve its train infrastructure, but it shouldn't be trying to sanitize the whole country. It's not Singapore, never will be, and travelers don't come to Thailand expecting it to be. Therein's the charm.

    Hi Woke,

Arrived  Chiang Mai - all well apart jet lag - just ref your 'world was more relaxed even a scant 15 yrs ago. A lot of the fun has been sucked out of so many things these days'  - absolutely - pleased others 'feel' it - was worried  just getting 'grouchy' with passing years.

Can recommend  'Haisan Air' - quality service -  transfer at PEK was a bit of a shambles.

    Happy New etc.

I have known a lot of people who have gotten 30-day extensions (from exempt entries and Tourist Visas) and every one of them had the 30-days tacked onto the end of their exempt or Tourist Visa period.  At least that's how it works here in Chiangmai.

    Hi Bob,

Thnxs for reply - gives a little more assurance.

Other point - I have Wad of different Forms I always keep with me - can you advise Form No/Type  for 30 day extension?

    Have a good Christmas.

  22. Hi All,

    Good information  - thnxs.

Further on same topic - up to 3 years ago both wife and I - both Falang - held 12 month Retirements.

That went the way of all things (Covid) - but funds for both are still held in Thai Bank.

We are flying in this time on Visa waiver (30 days) - Flight tickets span exactly 60 days - will wait until Autumn to go for 12 month Retirement once more.

Does a 30 days extension get added to the end of the first 30 days if applied for early?
